Moving Slow

There are trees on the sofa pillows. They make me happy.

There are snowflakes on me today.
There are a lot of decorations that are down in our basement waiting to be wanted upstairs.  I'm waiting for the verve to come my way.  I know I'll have another burst of decorating zip.
Yes, I'm moving slow.  Some December days don't feel as Christmasy as others.

I pulled Gladys Taber's Still Cove Journal off the shelf and turned to December:

"Princes and kings and warlords were spreading their power over the lands. What happened to their deeds?  A few historians are knowledgeable about the Roman Empire. But by and large the rulers made no impact.  The carpenter's son born in a manger came to speak in simple words to multitudes who listened.  He talked about love and justice and brotherhood of man.  And today all over the world, his message sounds as clearly as it did in the hills of Judea.  When we light the candles in honor of his birth, our listening hearts fill with hope for peace and love and justice to come."

Every day in December bloggers

Minimal Christmas decorating at our home this year. Seems to get less and less every year. Love your snowflake sweater...my snowflakes are on a Christmas Sweatshirt that gets worn often during December. No snowflakes from Texas Mother Nature, but maybe soon. Thanks for visiting today and commenting on my weaving. I have a small table loom and will be getting a large floor loom in January. A friend GAVE it to me and I can hardly wait to get it. I'll be posting about it next year. Hard to believe we are almost done with 2018. Hope you and yours have a very Merry Christmas.

Ha! I am waiting for that verve, too. Your throw pillow reminded me that I also have a Christmas throw pillow that I could bring downstairs. That sounds like an easy, baby step. I'll go do it now. XO

There's something so calming and settling about Gladys Taber's writings. I have 5 of her books and am always on the look-out for more.
I hope Christmas energy and verve come to you before long.

Pompom, your snowflake sweater is lovely. I don't have a snowflake sweater but Mother Nature has given us lots and lots of snowflakes lately. She has been rather generous I think...

I'm moving slowly too lately. I finally got my Christmas tree decorated today and because two of my long strings of light were defective, I bought 4 new sets of led lights that have a 10-year warranty and will stay lit even if some lights go out so I'm happy that I finally got that job done.
Hugs, julia

I am slow, slow.

Covers for throw pillows is a nice idea. Maybe next year. ;-)

I'm with the minimalist gang!Hauled down two huge bags of decs from loft and decided at least three quarters of it was no longer necessary so off to charity shop it goes. Then I went out and bought a 2ft pretend Xmas tree complete with berries cones and snow to replace the tired old tree from previous years. I've no idea yet when I will take the new tree out of its box and find a place to display it. I'm waiting too!Love your snowflake jumper. Did you knit it?xxx

I wore a gold sparkly jumper today and felt very christmassy. We have planned where to place a living tree in the lounge, there were only two places to fit it but the decision was taken very seriously! the men gave it much thought on how the chairs should be arranged etc! And we have also discussed what we will eat! I am working christmas day but its so good to know they have the day planned.

I'm waiting for warmer weather to get into the garage for my decorations. I didn't avail myself of the warmer days last week, and now it's cold, windy, and very rainy. Brrr! My decorating tendencies this year are just awful!
