The Banner

Love
"He brought me to his banqueting table
His banner over me is love."
Song of Songs 2:4
I am dearly loved and so are you. You are invited to the table and there is a banner over you that says LOVE. You are precious and adored. There are no "yes, but . . ." bits of conversation. No buts at all - just love. You might want to say, "If you knew this hidden thing about me, you would not be so crazy about me." The response is, "I know that thing. I love you. You are my beloved." You, yes, YOU. You are a sweet, tender soul of beauty, a little pod of purity, a lovable, hugable, rockable, adorable soul. You are the recipient of grace in its truest form. Yes, you. There is a banner over you. It might be lavender or bubble gum pink. It could be sea foam green or a happy turquoise, but it's there. Just sit under your banner, Lovey.

Jesus died so the banner could be there. So none of the little things are the main thing, just the love. Thank you, Jesus, for the banquet!

Dear Pom Pom,
Hello. I have stumbled across you through Gigi at Firefly Cottage and so decided to pay you a visit. This post is LOVELY, today it is like balm, ointment, it has a soothing effect and the truth of it brings tears to my eyes. I must be feeling particularly emotional at the moment, and it is just what I needed to hear - when hard times come we can so easily forget the wonderful truths and promises of God for our lives. We need them to be so ingrained that they are on the tip of our tongue, to call on instantly and to speak to ourselves when we feel in danger of becoming overwhelmed by lies. Thank you Pom Pom. Helen.

Helen, thank you for your precious comment. It brought tears to my eyes. Your words hold real and sweet encouragement. I am glad you found me through Firefly Cottage. I visit Gigi's lovely blog each time she posts. She is creative, real and humble! Your words remind me again to sit under the banner.
