She Reads

I've been wanting to show you the lovely reader in my neighbor's garden. Her sister gave her this pretty lady. Do you like her?

I don't have lamb's ear in my garden (I don't like things that encroach) but I do think this display is beautiful.

Aren't these little pears pretty? She'll share with me! Yahoo!

Our daughter, Kelli, thinks "the shawl" is getting really weird. She's skeptical. I assured her that I'll wear it AT HOME only and I need it to keep warm after school in the winter. It's meant to be an accessory to my pajamas. "Okay," she said. It really bugged her when I kept saying, "I'm knitting a butterfly wing." Can you picture the eye roll?

One thing I can do when our house is quiet (this is the last day because all are back in house tomorrow) is arrange things simply for taking photographs! I find this VERY fun!

Yesterday when Reve and I went to the quilting shop, I found myself drawn to red and blue.

Oh, there are so many pretty colors in our world. Red grapes. Grapes are so tasty and incredibly beautiful, don't you think?

Here's something else that is simply beautiful, my new pin cushion. I misplaced mine (darn those storage tubs!) and so I bought another one the other day. I showed Brad and April on video chat and Brad said, "Why are pin cushions always tomatoes with strawberries for needles?" I don't know. Do you?

I'm going to sew today. This time I mean it.
Thank you for popping in and looking at my pictures. It's very nice of you.

Good Morning Sweetie...
What a beautiful share this morning. I so love it when you do.

I love the shawl that you are working on. The colors are so alive and sometimes I think that is what we need. A reminder that we are alive. Beautiful and yes it will keep you warm in the winter. I can't wait to see the finished product.

The beautiful lady reading in the neighbors garden is so AWESOME. I just love her. I love seeing things setting about in the gardens. Won't she be beauitufl the more she is weathered?

I have never seen lambs ear before. I so wish I could have a start of that. It could grow wild along my fence. That is just what I need. Darn...

Thank you for sharing tea with me this morning. The stroll has been lovely.

Country hugs sweetie...Sherry

I've always wondered the same thing as Brad. I have no idea why either.

Sculptures in the garden are so neat. It makes one stop and ponder. The reading leading is a lovely piece for sure!

I hope you will post your sewing projects! I'd love to see what you make today!

Have a wonderfully lovely day!

Blessings!

I love the reds and blues. And I especially love the shawl! They are sort of like security blankets for adults! I like that. I also like the fact that it's a butterfly wing, you need a nice pretty butterfly wing when it's cold! I am curious why they don't make pincushions that are shaped like watermelons, full sized watermelon pincushions! It may be tough to find the pin, but you will never have to look for your pin cushion!

I'm sitting here laughing at Bradley's idea of a watermelon pin cushion...LOL! I used to have one exactly like yours, but the strawberry was wooden! (?)

Love your shawl and I smiled too when you mentioned your daughters' reaction to it...my daughter would be exactly the same, lol!

Hugs to ya!

Yes, why are they always strawberries? A friend made one for me. I think she got the pattern from Martha Stewart, maybe we should blame her LOL :o) Love your reds. I'm partial to a few blues too

Happy days :o)

My surgery went ok, I'm back home now, supposed to be resting but working on my quilt for FOQ

I shall look forward to seeing your sewing

Love from RED

Pom Pom, have you seen the cute pin cushions in a mug or teacup? Click this link to see one sample: http://fourfiftythree.blogspot.com/2010/05/another-tiny-world.html

I made some adorable strawberry needle holders from Martha Stewart. I think since we have fewer needles, we only need a strawberry, but for all those pins, a tomato is the right size.

I had to giggle when I read Kelli's reaction to your "butterfly wing" shawl. My DD would have made the same eye roll and made SURE the shawl stayed at home. Kelli, if you're reading, watch Granny close!

Love your bright cheery pictures.

Hi PomPom, I'm finally having the chance to catch up with you, your posts are always full of loveliness, it's so hard to comment! Sorry to hear that you've been sick with the hot weather, I sympathize with you, my sinuses hurted so much last week that I vomited, yuck! Take care my sweet friend and have a fantastic weekend! xxxx

I absolutely adore the reader sculpture! I think she maybe needs some vines growing on her because I love things that encroach! Also I think the idea of knitting a butterfly wing is pure bliss! Kelli doesn't know what she's missing!
