Toadstool Crash

Hello!  Have a seat right here and I'll make you a cup of tea.  This toadstool is supposed to be a bird feeder.  Squirrel feeder is more like it.  The kitchen toadstool bird house crashed to the floor the other day.  One toadstool in, one toadstool out.  After the crash, the toadstool roof remained intact so I put it in the dirt by the day lilies.  It'll give the fairies some shelter.
Have you been eating strawberries?  They are so red inside just now.  Delicious!
My sweet daughter-in-law knit a cozy for my iPad.  Isn't it sweet?  The colors are scrumptious!
I got up way too early and now it's time to scoot off to school.  I may fall asleep in my soup at lunch time.  The week is flying by.
Thank you for your great comments about encouraging others.  You guys are so nice!  Today I think I'll encourage others by letting them do the talking.  I'll just listen.  Of course I will have to do the talking during each class period, but other than that, I think I can manage some kicked back listening.  If I could do whatever I wanted today I would sit on the sofa and read.  I am looking forward to a few days this summer when I can do just that.
I ordered a Raggedy Ann book and it should come in the mail soon.  Don't you love her sweet face?  I may have an Ann theme for Granny Camp this year.  Any ideas for activities?  I have so many Ann dolls and we could have some adventures with kids and dolls and tea parties.  I think Finnegan has the stamina for a tea party or two.  I have a few Andy dolls.  I hope you have a few Ann girls in your life.  They are the sweet ones who smile at you with their whole face and hold you dear.   Happy spring day (or autumn day to my friends down under!)

Your cheery post was just what was needed to wake me up on this rainy morning. I was sorry to hear about your toadstool crash, but I imagine the fairies are rejoicing.
Lovely I-Pad cover. The colors are so pretty!
Our local strawberries are in now. I bought some the other day and couldn't stop sniffing them. Real red strawberries that smell like they are supposed to. Delightful.

I have a collection of Anns (& a few Andy's) in my attic. I have been thinking I need to get them out and do a post. I miss them :).

I met you last summer when you were reading Anne. I admit, I couldn't wait to read each of your posts to read your thoughts on what your were reading. I do love Ann's My hope chest if filled with mine. Just a secret here, I take them out and hold them and tell them how much I miss them. I keep them there because it breaks my heart when my sweet grands who are to small to understand and drop them on the floor.
I promise them I will let them live outside when the kids are bigger.
I have a Ann quilt I need to finish. All of the blocks are red work Raggedy Ann and Andy.
I hope you have a lovely day, and I too am looking forward to summer. :)

Love Granny Camp :) Maybe you could collect some dress up clothes, and have the little 'uns dress up as Ann/Andy. Or perhaps you could sew a few small dolls, and have them dress the dolls? Or paper cut-out Ann/Andy dolls? Sounds like fun! The summer is almost here - can you hear May around the corner?

Hi, PomPom!
Thank you for visiting me and for your sweet comments! I just called the vet's to check on Tallulah, and they said all was well. I'll pick her up late this afternoon. I wish you could have an afternoon just to read! Today would be a good one, here...it's looking stormy. Brought my Fairy-house shingling project inside...maybe I won't make too much (more) of a mess!
You have some sweet ideas for Ann and Granny Camp! I just have two Grandsons, Cody is almost 18 (just five months older than MY "Baby", Jonathan), and Nick is 13. Definitely not into tea parties and fairies. I may have to borrow a little girl for an afternoon!
Hope your day is great!
Hugs,
Anne

take a few reading minutes (hours?) this weekend and pretend the summer has arrived. it might be enough to get you through until the real thing gets here.

How did my missing spoon end up in your cereal?? Oh I think I miss the tea party stage, and only now do I realise it is gone. They've moved on to snacks in the tree house with Boys Only.

By the way- have you seen the toadstool here? http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/2012/04/back-to-it.html

I think everyone on granny camp should have a windmill in their kitbag. I bought a windmill today, just a small one - pink with white spots, it's making me smile a lot and reminding me of being small on the beach on a donkey ride with a windmill in my hand! Shame your toadstool broke, hope you can find some more. Bettyx

Glad you made the best of your toadstool crash! The bowl of cereal and strawberries looks mouth-watering! I love the iPad cozy. You knitters are so talented. I hope you didn't fall asleep in your soup today. I was kind of weary myself, but visiting blogs is a pleasant evening pastime. Have a great week! Summer will arrive on time and you can have a good read!

Awwww, sorry bout the toadstool crash, but another fairy shelter in the garden is a good thing -- don't want to have cold wet fairies lanquishing around your house;). Love the iPad cover -- been toying with idea of knitting one for mine. Now, I think I must. Oh, and strawberries -- can't seem to get enough of the lovely red juicy things lately - yum!
Hugs,
G

Sorry to hear about the toadstool crash. How nice to receive such a pretty ipad cover gift.

Our boys didn't mind sitting through tea parties. I always tried to find "man tea cups" for them. One cup they liked in particular had a horse and buggy.

I so enjoy reading your posts! So sorry that your toadstool birdhouse crashed. :( Granny Camp sounds like so much fun...I wish I could come! I love Raggedy Ann. When I was a teenager I had a rag doll collection and my Mom bought an Ann for me. She also sewed a BIG Raggedy Ann and Andy for my daughters when they were small. They are still packed away (somewhere) in the garage. :) I haven't really bought any strawberries yet, though I hope to go to the farmer's market on Saturday morning! Looking forward to my first one! I hope you have a very enjoyable weekend!
