Tired

Bill sent me a text message this morning at 4:30. He is jet lagged and I was awake because Kelli and Bryan's bed is hard and I can't get comfortable. He's been going home to keep his vampire-ish hours. He brought me half and half for my coffee and doughnuts way before the kids got up. Nice. The morning is pretty and quiet.

The cats are way too noisy. The black fluffy one will not shut up. It's driving me crazy.

My hands are drying up from wiping off counters and faces one million times per day. I am officially bored out of my mind with Scooby Doo.

If you told me I could never watch Caillou again, for the rest of my life, I would not shed a tear.
I'm sorta sick of these guys' voices, too.

These little fellas go upstairs in Birdie's doll house but I go up and down the stairs so many times a day and I always have my hands full. They are still sitting on the kitchen counter.

I am NOT tired of these precious voices. I did get a little crabby about pushing swings today. Don't you remember when your parents would get tired of doing something for you and you simply could not fathom why?

Ice cream for dessert.

Popsicles for cooling off purposes. Junk food really does make everything easier . . . and happier.

Here's why I haven't been getting nervous about unfamiliar noises.

I remembered today that I did ignore my children sometimes when they played. I read and sometimes I even snoozed.

I'm getting a little loopy. Bird is, too. She got mad at Grampy tonight because he told her she was being selfish. On the way upstairs she told me, "I don't like Grampy. He's not a good person." He thought that was pretty funny. He doesn't like the hard, creaky bed either, but he'll come back in the morning. Whew.

I'm falling asleep in my soup. Thank you for checking up on me. Kelli and Bryan are having a lot of fun, so I'm happy about that.
Night night.

Thanks for sharing your life with us. You're always encouraging, even if you are tired! :) I think I need to road trip to Colorado before school makes life so busy again!

Ah yes, the endless trecking up and down stairs, have you forgotten to delegate? little people love responsibility you know! a basket each and a tidy at the end of the day will save Grandma's legs. A nap in the afternoon while they watch boring old scooby doo will refresh you and that hard bed! well if you have a duvet, I would sleep on top of it the padding will make it so much more comfy - hope this helps Pom Pom - how about some treats for the hardworking Grandma? strawberries, maybe a glass of wine tonight, a bunch of flowers? You are doing well, keep going! Bettyxxx

Your eyes are still snappy-blue and bright! When is "quiet time" and "Nap time?"

We used to have "5 minute pick up" at our house. I set the timer and it was a race to pick up everything lying around the house and put it away.

Take a nap, and carry on.

I love Little Einsteins! and my grandkids have now moved on to Scooby Doo. I remember pushing my daughters on their swings for hours! and now Laurie Beth wants to swing for hours. It never ends?!!
(maybe you can catch up on your sleep when you get home?)

Oh Pom Pom, it's ok! You can home to your own bed at the end of the week and will have given so much more than a mere week to the parents of these gorgeous, lovely, exhausting angels! I shouted hard today at boys who would not sit quietly on the sofa during story time, I fell asleep on the sofa, I let them plug into the Wii when all else failed.... But I am so grateful to be past the voice of Evil Dora the Explorer!

Oh Pom Pom you are a hoot. I'm so smiley about your post but I guess it's not funny after a while. You will be glad to get home to your own bed. How many "un-sleeps" till you go home?

Have a good weekend with your princesses xoxo

It's true Pom Pom! Parents get to ignore the children without guilt. I love Calico Critters. You can "play" with them with the kids without actually playing. Set up rooms with the furniture which is fun even for grown-ups. Have a great time! xoxo

Oh no, dear friend! you sound like you are in the trenches :o). You're almost done! I'm glad Miss Birdie made you laugh. I like to doze or read sometimes too. Shhh! Don't tell anyone :o).

Blessings!
