Knitting buttery sunshine has been soothing and satisfying. I think I mentioned that I've been holding my needles a bit differently and I think it relaxes my knitting. I think it makes knitting more relaxing. Yay!
Sara at Come Away With Me has been my blog friend for a long time (I met up with her at Disneyland a few years ago, too!) and she told me more about Elizabeth Goudge (my friends Barbara and Frances and Kim and Jody and others did, too!) At first I didn't have an appreciation for her writing style or her content, but thanks to bloggers and close reading, I'm a huge fan now. Sara shared this new study of Elizabeth Goudge by Christine Rawlins and I bought the Kindle edition. She references many passages from EG's books. I had to order some more (cheap used copies are available).
Here are some lovely fall scenes from my neck of the woods.
It's rainy here today and the leaves are falling gracefully. I have book club later and I'm SO looking forward to it!

Isn't it amazing, what light, or the lack of it, can 'do' with photography? Same subject. Totally different effect. :-)

Oh wonderful!!! I love your collection of Goudge books! I've only read three of hers-Smoky House, A little white horse and one other. They are magical!!x
Saw a nice recipe for pumpkin soup on tv this morning so went out later to buy a pumpkin and came back with butternut squash! Don't ask! Might have had something to do with the fact I had Mama with me and she talked to EVERYBODY she met! I've never read Elizabeth Goudge, but I think her writing sounds good so I will look for her books. I like the idea of knitting buttery sunshine, what a pretty image. :)

It's been awhile since I've sat down with Elizabeth Goudge. Maybe now's the time! I'm glad you've come to love her; I remember at first you had your doubts.

Look at all that lovely fall decorating! My home has just a tad, but I'm not a big decorator, so what I do have is what will be. :)

This is a lovely homely post PomPom, I'm glad you are enjoying your home and I love your decorations, this year we have pumpkins around the place and not much else as my boys asked if we could decorate more in admiration of nature than halloween, I am pleased.

Thank you for your comment on Greek Tragey yesterday. I really meant it to be funny, but it did not turn out that way by the time I listed all the actors, their dialogue, etc. keep praying as maybe peace is right around the corner.

I've read The Joy of the Snow, which I liked very much. I think I liked this autobiography more than her actual books! Also read, Green Dolphin Street, The Child From the Sea, started reading The Bird in the Tree but could never find a copy of The Heart of the Family, so I gave up on that trilogy. I've put Beyond the Snow on my wishlist. :)

Pretty pumpkins, Pom! I love Goudge too. I've only read two of her books, but both of them really stuck with me, esp. Green Dolphin Street. I need to read a couple more, soon. Maybe for Christmas?
