Five on Friday: Five Happy Things

I almost forgot about Five on Friday!  I remembered this morning when I woke up VERY rested.  Jenny gave me a pillow they didn't need and it's VERY foamy and my favorite kind of bed pillow.  I made my sleep goal!  (It's actually more important to me than my walking goal, just saying!)
My first happy FIVE is the big pumpkins that grew in our garden!  Yay!  The stalks were perishing so I pulled them out but the pumpkins are BEAUTIFUL!
Number 2:
I bought bulbs from our Samantha's school fundraiser and they might go into the earth this weekend while it is still warm outside.  I am going to put them where I can see them, not in front of the house where we will not see them as much.  Does that sound like a good idea?
Three:  Good supplements.  The chewy calciums are yummy and the Tangy Tangerine is full of minerals and makes Bill and I feel good.
Four:  YAY!  Two granddaughters are coming for the weekend!  It will be girls, girls, girls this weekend (with some JAMES in the mix, too!) I can't wait to comb their hair, walk with them, shop with them, and tuck them into bed (I'm always VERY sleepy by the time their bedtime rolls around!)
FIVE:  The view out the patio door this morning.  October is full of glow!  Sunbeams are my favorite!

Happy Friday to you!

Oh I love the love of life in your voice! What a great thing sleep does! You know that I will love those pumpkins! That is a life's dream of mine- to get a pumpkin past the tiny yellow sphere stage!

What an achievement, the pumpkins are huge! I really must try and plant some here in the UK next year. What time of the year did you plant the seeds and was it straight into the ground or in pots first? Did you feed them too? So many questions, hope you don't mind. Enjoy the week end with the grandchildren, sure it will be lovely if tiring x

I think it would be so nice to be planting bulbs. I am planting sweet peas today. :)
I like your vitamins. I am so glad you and Bill feel good. I agree October is just lovely! Have a lovely day.

What a lovely post! I love it when people list things that make them happy - that happy energy is so contagious. It really brought a smile to my face. I am so glad that you will be able to spend time with your granddaughters! You have such lovely bonding activities to share with them. Have a wonderful weekend! Aloha.

Oh, I really like this five on Friday and think I may join in next week. :)

Love seeing fall through everyone's blogs...seems this year's has been glorious just about everywhere! We only got one pumpkin from what seemed like miles of vine that grew all over my garden. Sigh. But a pie it will become, so I shouldn't complain.

Have a great time with your granddaughters! Going to be a girl weekend at my house, too, with the big b-day slumber party.

Sounds like you have a fun time planned this weekend. The pumpkins are amazing. And, what a great idea to plant the bulbs to enjoy later this winter. Enjoy your weekend. My best to you :)

Five very good things indeed!!!! How great they all are. I think that the idea to plant the bulbs where you will see them is a very good one, after all you need to be able to appreciate the beauty of them don't you! Your homegrown pumpkins are fantastic aren't they! Thank you for joining Five On Friday. I hope that you have a great weekend with your girls! xx

Your pumpkins are just beautiful and I like that you always do things that brings you JOY.

You purchased lots of bulbs and you will be richly rewarded comes Spring plus you're helping with school fundraising. I bought some bulbs this week as I couldn't resist but I want to plant some more as it's been quite a while since I planted some and they are slowly dug up by those pesky squirrels.

Have as much fun as it's possible with the grandkids.

Hugs,
JB

I love sunbeams too. They make me happy and knowing they will give way to winter rain only makes them more precious!
I planted (?) my new bulbs in large pots placed where I can see them in Spring but then when they're done I can move them to a less visible spot so they can look all bedraggled and I don't have to see them.
Have fun with those little girls!!

I almost always put flowers where I can enjoy them; makes the most sense, to me. Have a lovely weekend with the grands, Karen, enjoy to the utmost.

That freshly made up bed looks very inviting. And I LOVE the view through the patio doors. I'm always trying to capture that feeling as the shadows get long and are interspersed with sunshine. :) Have a great weekend with the kiddos!

I love your last photo -- don't you love the sunlight this time of year? It makes photos so lovely and seems to graceful. I agree about the bulbs -- do plant them where you will enjoy them. Good idea!!
