Friday was a lot of fun! Look at all the new middle school kids and their families! My first week was perfect! Yes, the air conditioning is fixed and I can wear cardigans! |
This is just my kind of knitting book - stories. Patterns, too.
The grands like my new watch. I bought it at the quilt shop. It's very gaudy. Sorry about the bad photos! I was in the car with Bill.
Today we went to see these silly geese. Aria was napping. We played Mother May I? We played Simon Says. Cadence said, "Can you do a handstand?" My response, "Nope. Too fat." I might try though, so I can surprise her next time.
Just so you know, another Wind in the Willows blog party is brewing. I think you'll like it. How can you not like Mr. Badger in his sassy coat? |
And I know it's kind of dumb, but I like to take pictures of the flowers at the grocery store. Aren't they lovely? I didn't buy any, but I'd like to try to make some posies.

I was hooking on my rug and I was thinking about you and wondering how your school week went and then I was thinking about you and wondering if you had read Green Dolphin Street by Elisabeth Goudge. Then I was wondering about Gladys Tabor and putting some books in my queue at the library because Pom Pom like them and I know if she likes them I will too and there you have something to say about Elisabeth Goudge and the Little White Horse and the White Witch. Not to mention Green Dolphin Street right there.
I like your watch and your grand children are just great and I wish I could go on walks like Booms with you. I think Strawberries and Ice cream sounds wonderful.
I was just thinking of you and there you left a comment on my blog too. :)
So very happy that I have made your acquaintance.
I hope you have a blessed week.
I'm so glad you have come to enjoy Elizabeth Goudge! I see you have The Ten Gifts...that's one I've not acquired yet. Your watch is wonderfully chunky and colorful. If your family is at Disneyland, they are enjoying some extra hot weather right now.
We had a great visit with you today! Cadence and Finn are playing with their cool books as they go to sleep. Much more fun in the dark! Thank you!
Not a quiet weekend here. Canning and company. I love gaudy watches. And you have a fun reading list. My ready for the next 15 weeks will be comp essays--actually, not bad reading at all--some pretty poor writing, but good reading none the less. Have a cool week.
Pom Pom - what a great knitting book. If I had more skill I would check it out for sure. Perhaps I will pop the title down to check out when I have a few more projects under my belt.
Glad school is going well.
I am so excited, you are excited for school!!! Me too! I love these guys. And even if they aren't perfect I keep talking positive to make it last longer. No negative for me. :) I have turned over a new leaf. I sure need to visit you soon. I miss your face. PLus I have stories. Very good, happy stories to share!!! You are my favorite person to talk to cause I feel like you truly care. I love that so much. I am glad you had a great weekend!!!
Your students look happy, your grandchildren are cheeky and fun. I like your watch, infact I need one myself and you reminded me I don't have one! I did a small post Sunday about that delightful lady Ruth Stouts - shame she isn't around today as I would like to meet her, the climate in the uk may not be suitable for her methods but hubby and I agreed we will try some of it out for fun. First day up and about after this bug yesterday and I picked berries, spoke to cows and horses along with youngest boy. Your books look interesting = I did love Gladys Taber but am making room for some new reading so happy to let her go - what next I wonder?
What a fabulous picnic Pom Pom. I love your silly geese & your gaudy bracelet. I'm glad that you like the flowers at the grocery store..I always stop & look at them & "say oh you are so lovely" & sometimes I have a big sniff..especially the hyacinths & other scented lovelies. Have a wonderful week. Big hug & a kiss from me : )
What a nice rambly post, very happy! So good to see the book! The next one will be on its way this week.
Question from the boys- do you like the Tutti Frutti jelly belly? You can see that we are still living in Pom Pom Paradise! Wind is under my bed (also best wishes to those who really did feel wind under their bed) and I am brewing, honestly I am!!
I'm sooooo glad your AC is working now! Nothing better than cardigans in the fall. Looking forward to your Wind in the Willows party :) I do love those characters. Enjoy your week with the kids!
Ooh, I like the look of that knitting book! What a nice cover pic too. Such happy thoughts from Pom Pom Land! :) xxx
Love the flowery piccies!
Have a very happy week, it's always great fun to visit you, your words are always a great treat for the heart!

I like your rosey posey background. Hope you had a great day today.
Strawberries and ice cream for dinner sounds awfully nice. I'm glad you've given EG a second chance, and I'm glad you're wearing that watch, which is fabulous, and glad you have a dog to take you on walks. Hurray for air conditioning!

Wow Missy! Lots going on in your world these days. I hope that 'first days of school fatigue' isn't too bad!
And just look at all your loverly books -- love the E. Goudge. Her writing is so insightful and has such depth, doesn't it? I've been thinking about buying "My Grandmother's Knitting", and I think I will, now that I know you like it.
Love the grocery store flowers, and no, it's not dumb to take pictures of them -- take beauty where you find I say -- even if it's in the grocery store. And that's the only place I'll be finding flowers around Little Rabbit, as there's not a living flower (or anything else) around here. When I got home Sunday, I saw that our weeping willow tree had finally given up and died. Stupid hot dry Gene Autry county we live in!
Blessings,
p.s. Love your new blog look. You really are Mary Poppins -- and the faded rosy wallpaper is so pretty!
That picnic loks like a fun start to the school year.
It seems a lot of the bloggers I read are Elizabeth Goudge fans. I have yet to read one of her books, but will have to give them a try soon.
The watch looks pretty to me. I love anything with beads.
Glad to see you having so much fun with those kiddos! And air conditioning, yay! What is this about The Wind in the Willows? I'm interested! :D
Better go join my hubby downstairs. I've been studying long enough today. Maybe we'll watch "Babe: Pig in the City"!
Blessings!
Look at all that E. Goudge! Nice! I like reading her too and feel smarter after I finish one of her books.
Love, love, love that bangle watch.
I'm so glad to hear you are happy with your students. That'll make the school year fly by.
Enjoy your ice cream & strawberry supper. I'm going to have chocolate zucchini cake tonight. I'm alone.

My favorite Elizabeth Goudge book is The Dean's Watch. I see some you have that I've never heard of. I love the quiet places she takes her readers. I want to live in her world. I LOVE your watch! It's so YOU.
Loved today's rambles... well I guess they're not really today's anymore. You have me a bit nervous with that handstand idea. My mom decided to scooter with my 5 year old cousin yesterday. She was going downhill and didn't know that it had a break so she just stuck her foot out! You should see it. UGLY! She says she doesn't think it's broken but we're watching her. All that to say... just impress the grands with the darling, gaudy watch and leave the handstands to them!
Blessings, Debbie
What wonderful pictures! I remember reading "The Little White Horse" aloud to my (now grown) children when we were homeschooling. It brings back such great memories.
I've signed up to substitute teach this year and have my first assignment lined up for next Tuesday (4th grade)! I'm very excited and nervous!

I love the sound of strawberries and ice cream for tea! My poor strawberry plants have been under snow three times lately. I have been watching them for signs of life. Hope it's not too long till strawberry season!
