Gnomes, Doors, and Girls

Hi Friends!  Thank you for all your sweet comments about my poem and my swimsuit thoughts in general!  Now, on to gnomes!  As you can see above, even mice like gnomes.

Oh, and fairy/hobbit doors?  Don't you love them?

My fairy door (you saw it when I showed you the fairy bed) needs more flowers around it.  Every time I go to the store, with the intent of buying flowers, I can't find any I want.  I lack purpose.  Purpose next time:  the fairy garden.  We'll see how that works!

A great combo:  a gnome painting a bird!  LOVE!

Some of my anniversary sunflowers flopped so I hung them up.

Look at this delightful treat!  Amazon has way too many cheap used books and I find it quite tempting to click myself whatever my brain desires.  This is a visual wonder.  I love how Flora Thompson writes about hamlet life.

Look at Miss Millie!  We call her Miiiiiii!  That's what her sister Bug calls her.  Isn't she a little lamb?

We had a taco salad dinner last night and the girls had a run in the grass.  They also had a good dig.  They spent quite a bit of time filling my watering can up with rocks.

Come on in and have a sit in the kitchen. I'll pour you a cup of something.  Tea?  Coffee?  Juice?  V-8?

Bill is leaving London today, on his way to Munich.  Look kids!  It's Big Ben!

A British bank in honor of our singing all the Mary Poppins tunes together.

And a photo of OUR girls.  Today I am going up to see three more of my darling grands.  Finn is our only grandson.  Six girls, one boy!  He's a cutie and so are his lovely sisters.  I miss them so much and can't WAIT to be at their cozy house for a few hours.  I haven't been out of school a week yet.  That makes me feel like I have lots of summer left.  Woo hoo!  I'm a little scattered, not sure where to light down first.  What are you up to on this fine June day?  Thank you for stopping in.  I love it when you do.

What a beautiful family you have!! And I love that Flora Thompson book. I have the 2 together. Have you ever read any children's books by Shirley Barber? If you haven't, you MUST!! Her books are all full of rabbits, and gnomes, and fairies, and fun animals. When my girls were little, I bought one called "Martha B. Rabbit" and it's a favorite -- a HUGE picture book. I might need to do a blog on those illustrations. Have a great day, Pom!!

You have a lovely family! Hey, I have that book too and its companion...they are such a delight!

Your kitchen table is very inviting, as are the hearts on your wall.

Sounds like you are making the most of your summertime freedom. Yippee!

you girls are gorgeous, my mom also refers to us as her girls even though we are in our 30's and have kids. I love all the wonderful things you are doing to your garden, those little doors are enchanting. =D

Love your little gnome-y friends! Your house looks so cosy, I'd love to stop by for tea. I'll be there in 13 hours -- if I start now ;).
Loved the swimsuit post too! I think I'm getting past being too self conscious about my old body -- learning to tolerate (not love ;) the old droops and sags. Plus, I'm very good at getting out of the pool quickly and covering myself up at lightening speed ;).
Blessings,

G
p.s. the Flora T. book is calling my name -- what did we ever do before Amazon?! Oh, libraries ;).

What a beautiful family you have. Your home looks so warm and cosy, the three bears would be very at home. Hope you find some flowers for your fairy garden - hope there will be fairy cakes and lots of happy times ahead in the holidays with books, comfy chairs, sunshine. Enjoy your time with family - Bettyx I dug my first potatos off the allotment today - they tasted wonderful, am working loads and so would like to sit and ponder in the garden more and paint fairies, Bettyx

You have the loveliest family around. I'd love a cuppa coffee at your pretty dining nook. May I have a gold mug from the shelf?

Your sunflowers make me smile. Perfect anniversary flowers.

Great picture of Kelli and Jenny! We loved having you visit today! Thank you so much. Finn and Cadence can't stop talking about granny camp. I'm going to have to make some kind of paper-chain count down so they'll have a visual of how long.

I have read your various kind comments at the Garden Spot, and finally I am getting around to joining you. I love your gnomes and artwork. We will become good blogger friends--and we both teach English! (While I try to write well, I declare my blog a grammar free zone).
