Apron finished! I like it! Remember, the whole idea was to make a "security apron" so I made it out of flannel. Yeah, it's a little warm. Sweet though! |
Do you have to adjust to wearing an apron? I don't find myself longing to put it on. I'll practice. |
I also found Cousin Ribby for $32. I came home and looked her up online. This particular collectible is selling for $295 on one of the sites. YIKES! I like her because she's holding butter. |
Here are today's doodles. |
This is Lisa's art letter. I commented on the originals and then tried to copy. |
I like the coloring part! |
My ripples look like targets. |
Thank you, God. Thank you for ballerinas. Hasn't little Aria grown? |

I love that apron! What a great idea to make it out of flannel! It still is not an automatic thing for me to put on my apron. Perhaps I have to but it in a more obvious spot.
I am trying to finish a squirt for Beans and I've been doing some knitting on those round plastic looms.
Your little ballerinas are so sweet!
Blessings!
Deborah
I love your ceramic kitty! The fact that she's valuable is just icing on the cake! :)
Congratulations on finishing the apron! It's so pretty! I don't usually get around to wearing an apron, but I still love them.
I also love the art letter! You've been busy! Looks like you're enjoying your summer. That's the important thing! :D
Enjoy those kiddos!
Your apron turned out great. I often wear an apron--I am a messy cook. I have made several holly dolls over the years. In fact I am going to make one for my granddaughter's birthday in August. I love making them. You are right about the heads; mine end up looking like a potato or peanut. I made dolls years ago for my girls, lost the pattern, found one on ebay a few years ago and spent hours making clothes and bodies. We have moved since then and I need to find my sewing stuff and get busy. Your little ballerinas are just precious. Great treasures from flea market.
I like your apron, you will soon feel naked without it I am sure! I have several aprons, an oilcloth one for painting, butchers stripe for dirty work, little pretty half aprons that tie at the waist for serving tea. I am thinking of making a gardening apron as I get very messy at the allotment! How lovely your doodles are too. Bettyx
THE apron is finished, yippee! And it is SO beautiful! Perhaps you'll want to wear it more when the weather is cooler. LOVE the pretty fabric and the style you chose....clever Pom Pom!
Your sweet grandbabies are always such cuties!
And now a lovely new knitting project to cuddle up with....life is good! xxx
I LOVE aprons and really enjoy wearing mine! A flannel apron sounds perfectly cosy to me! Cx
So glad to hear Bill is home safe. Put on your pretty pinny and bake him some sweet treats!
blessings xx
Love your pretty apron. I have a hard time wanting to wear one, too. I feel so constricted and...and...covered. But I ruin clothes all the time so you would think I would catch a clue.
"I like her because she's holding butter." You are SO funny!! I feel the same way about butter myself - ymmm!
The apron is a beauty. I've never heard of using flannel before, but it will be sturdy. You know, it's funny you asked, b/c I'm to the point that, if I'm in the kitchen, I don't "feel right" unless I have an apron on. I always wear an apron there.
And thank you, thank you for the pictures of your drawings. Now I understand. There is so much MOVEMENT in your drawings -- more than in the originals. I like seeing your versions. I'm struck by the girls looking in the water. Neither they nor we get to see the actual sky, only the reflection.
You said of Bill, "We like each other very much," and I think that is the simple secret of a happy marriage, don't you?
Hi Pom! I love your apron -- a flannel apron -- only you would think of such a perfect idea!
And that little Cousin Ribby is absolutely adorable, sweet, and charming -- love her (and the butter ;). Your littles are also adorable, sweet, and charming -- love the flag costume!
Those works of art that you call doodles are just wonderful. I think you are indeed an artist! I hope you think so too.
Blessings,
Gg
I love your apron. It reminds me of my grandmothers. I collect them but hardly ever wear them. I should.
We have another thing in common besides Lark Rise. When I was 17 years old Simplicity Patterns came out with a Holly Hobbie embrodiery pattern and transfer. I made 16 embroidery blocks and made them into a quilt. It has LIME GREEN sashing and it won a blue ribbon at the State fair. I was one happy 17 year old, let me tell you.
If that doesn't date me, I don't know what does.
You are so talented! I absolutely love your 'take' on the artwork. Your use of color is so Pom Pom!!
And your granddaughter is the prettiest flag waving this holiday!
Blessings, Debbie
Just a quick ciao from sunny and hot Italy!!!
Can you please take a picture for us of you wearing your sweet apron?
xxx
I love your apron! And I'm so glad that you showed us your drawings. I love them. I want to fraeme some for the new baby's room. Do you think you could draw some special ones for him/her, if the inspiration hits you over the next 7 months?
LOVE your drawings~!!~especially the one of the little girls peering into the pond. you really are quite good~!
i do think aprons are an 'acquired taste'. and possibly more comfortable in the winter when it's much more comfortable to wear layers.
the ballerinas are too cute for words~!
:-)

I love your doodles! All the color...
What cute little ballerinas you know.
I just finished a quite long, cream colored knitted scarf with an open sort of pattern to it.
Your apron with its sweet sprigged fabric is adorable. I don't own even one apron and therefore never wear them! Perhaps I should give that more thought!
Butter is always good! I totally agree with your attraction oto Cousin Ribby and her butter.
I like the style of your apron because it covers up. So often aprons have too many gaps where the grease and stuff can pop up and ruin your clothes. Great job!
Cousin Ribby is so cute and your art doodles are charming. Really! I think you should do a children's book with them. You could have the original and your drawing with nice little thoughts about each. Have you seen the Mini Masters board books? I have a couple and they are so neat to look at with the littles.

You're so nice.
What did Miss Birdie dance to in that patriot's tutu? And Aria is half grown. Sweeties all.
I have to adjust to NOT wearing an apron...can't get anything done without them.
You know you're an artist when people start commissioning your creations!! Write that children's book, when you get a chance! I love how you "morph" the characters into your own peeps. And, BTW, your ripples look JUST like ripples. :D
You are so clever with your sewing! When I sew something and it turns out, I feel like a miracle has been bestowed upon me! And all those little girls are just the sweetest things x x
When I was in Jr. High My best friend gave me that plate as a gift and I still have it.
