Floss is hosting A Pause in Lent
I fear I may not do this endeavor justice explaining it, so please hop over there and look at her blog, read her post today, and be blessed.
We had granddaughters here all day and into the night, so I am posting a bit late, but I am looking forward to the Sunday A Pause in Lent idea. Next time, I'll get busy sooner!
I've told some of you about Making Crosses: A Creative Connection to God by Ellen Morris Prewitt. I'm starting . . . pondering the act of making crosses . . . looking at the simple crosses I have made in the past and awaiting insight for making my next cross.
In the middle of the night, I tip toed downstairs to find my last year's journal. I found this entry. Looking at my printed words from a year ago left me a tiny bit awestruck. Revisiting my heart felt humbling.
Yesterday, I simply took a few notes. Last night I opened Madeleine L'Engle's Walking on Water: Reflections on Life and Art and I can't even put some of the insights into words right now. I'm humbled by how what we read connects thought to thought, idea to idea, insight to insight - all of it sweet medicine to our vulnerable little souls.

I think we can't know or predict what power and grace God might impart through the cross, a symbol that His Son made holy. And to contemplate, and pray, while working with one's hands--what a soul-nurturing activity.
Good morning, Pom Pom. Aside from the inspiration I gain from each of these posts, the opportunity to 'meet' such interesting women is a huge privilage. I'll be back!
I love the notes in your journal - I think I must try this as I have never committed my thoughts in this way. Thankyou.
What lovely thoughts, Pom Pom.
A beautiful post. xxx
Once again seeing your journals, you make me want to start doing the same. Maybe it will enable me more time to pause... and wait.
Hope you had a wonderful Sunday!
Blessings!
Deborah
Oh I've always wanted to read Walking on water. Sounds like an amazing book.
It is so nice to meet you too. Thank you for your lovely comment. xxxx
Thank you Pom. I'll be checking the Pause link later today. It sounds like something I would like. The "pause" reminds me of the scripture: Be still and know that I am God.
Thanks for your thoughts.
Jody
A joy to meet you...
so glad you visited my word game blog and left a comment on Spring Brings...
I hope your new season will indeed bring your heart's delight.
I want to let you know that feel so comfortable here on your blog! And loved reading your post(s).
Your joy of life and lifting of the SPIRIT :) is surely a blessing. So today, may that pause button be set...and may the peace you seek, be found.
This is just what my heart needs! I feel torn in several different directions at the moment, and, for the first time in my life, I'm not in the middle of a writing project or an art project. It feels disorienting. I definitely need to come to a full stop. I'll get Madeleine L'Engle's book, too. And, yes, I will take this deep and holy pause with you. xo Kari
Have not read Walking on Water but it sounds good.
Beautiful cross! I'm glad you are enjoying a lentin pause!
Every time I visit your beautiful and uplifting blog, I'm inspired to draw closer still to the Lord.
We are birds of a feather Pom. I remember falling in love with Madeleine L'Engle's A Wrinkle in Time when I read it in the 7th grade. I haven't ever read this book that you've recommended. I'm adding it to my reading list.
Have a wonderful day Pom Pom!
xoxo
Hello, dear PomPom,
I think you are wise to wait on God's directions. I sometimes want to hurry ahead of Him and work things out on my own. Pausing and letting Him lead the way is what I remind myself of often. Have a blessed week! Vicki
