Another Day
I made a little cake using my friend Lynn's guidelines. It tasted so good!
When I went back to college at age 40+ I doodled as I took notes and it helped me concentrate, so now I do the same in my Community Bible Study workbook.
Here are the Mad Hatter's sleeves. I made his coat too short so I have to add on to it. I'll do that another day.
Cutting out the jacket wasn't easy with this little "helper".
This is Alice in Wonderland's older sister's skirt. I asked Kelli if the little actress could try to gain 15 pounds before showtime. She responded, "Safety pins."
What have you been cooking for dinner while we all shelter in place? We're having pork tenderloin tonight. I really want to bake every day, but I don't want to eat too much of my baking, so I will resist.
Bill said that lots of gardening supplies are being sold and that makes sense. We're itchy to get outside and since we can't go anywhere, we can enjoy our own gardens. When it warms up, in our case.

I read that lots of people are taking up gardening now, to fill their time at home (maybe they've always wanted to, and didn't have time?) and to have some extra food. Although from my recent grocery trip, I don't think we'll be short on food at the stores!
What have we been doing? A lot of keeping in touch with family near and far, calling, face-timing. Gardening and weeding. Making videos for our church family for Sunday worship. House work too.
I like your pretty mugs and little cake. I used to make those often for various teddy bear's tea parties when my boys were small. (It was more their desire for the cake than any consideration for the bears I'm afraid).
On the days that it doesn't rain we do outside projects but rainy days keep us indoors. I tried making a cover for a small pillow today but I'm no seamstress and the result is lopsided and odd.

we eat a lot of curry here, so it's chicken curry for the men tonight and lentil dhal for me with rice. We have been doing more cooking from scratch during the lock down. I am not excited by cooking to be honest but I am interested in ensuring my family eat well and as we are together more now it's really nice to have meals together once more.
Your cake looks lovely. Steve is working from home so I am tip toeing through housework trying to be quiet!! I am enjoying the company to be honest. I am trying to make tasty lunches that do not involve sandwiches which is what he would normally have. Today was a small bowl of egg fried rice with a few prawns in a katsu curry sauce. It was a tiny portion but tasty. Thanks for posting. x
I got my blog reader going on my phone! Yay!!!! I started on the garden and got about 3 feet done. 😂😂waiting for warmer weather, right timing, and more energy. No wonder the garden never gets done. We are baking everyday but fortunately there are six of us to eat it!!!

Your furry "helper" is hilarious. Must be nice to have an extra companion during the sheltering time we are in. Hmm yesterday Dear made his famous tomato rice soup and we had boneless skinless chicken thighs with a salad and broccoli cauliflower mix. Oatmeal peanut cookies for a little sweet. No great planning mostly sporadic ideas of what to thaw and what to do with it. Yippee for safety pins!
What have I been doing — well, for the most part life hasn’t changed for us a whole lot. In and out with the dog, washing the never ending dishes, planning dinner — tonight is soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. Bean has been reading to me over the phone, we have Face Timed, I have started doing some cross stitch again and, of course, reading. I have been sewing Girl Scout patches on a blanket and doing the never ending laundry. The only thing that has changed for me is not picking Bean up after school and having her here in the afternoon — that is a big change, one I don’t like but it is what it is.
That little cake looks like a perfect size.
We've had homemade pizza, beef stew, hamburgers and potato salad, sweet and sour chicken just to name a few meals.
I miss going out to eat once in a while!!!
Oh I just adore that red heart mug & plate in your first pic dear Pom Pom. I love how Timothy is helping to "iron the fabric" for you. Our garden centres are all closed & you cannot get supplies from anywhere so its a bit disheartening as we are having such lovely autumn days that its nice to be outside working. Yes I have been baking (& eating!!) too. Take care my friend xx
Oh, that cake looks yummy and the ideal size too. I made chili tonight with half the amount of meat. The other half was browned and added to the freezer. I'm trying to limit the amount of times we will need to grocery shop in the coming weeks. We actually preferred the less meat version so I think that will be how chili is made going forward.
I think Bill is right about the gardening supplies. We had a warmer than normal weekend. Early in the day Brett drove by Lowe's and said the parking lot was packed. I went later in the day and stayed in the outside garden center only. The flower section was nearly wiped out. I guess since we can still get outside everybody was eager to get gardening.

You are a swell seamstress. I keep thinking I should try it, even at my age. In high school a mean ole nun sort of discouraged me with her meanness. My middle daughter says I should try again.
Love your sewing helper. Trying not to eat too many goodies while we isolate. But the middle baked homemade bread and then tortillas. We might be in trouble. Thanks for being a kind heart. Stay safe and healthy.
