Willows Update

The Willows have arrived in Ontario!  It took them two long weeks to get there, but finally they are safe and sound with Deborah.  I'm so relieved!
Using a big gift card from the book store, I ordered this lovely tome!  It's wonderful!  Yes, I'm rather addicted to The Wind in the Willows, I know.

Here is another interesting birthday book.  I'll tell you all about it soon.
A sweet friend sent me this little fairy teapot.  Isn't she cute?  I thought I wiped the dust off the shelf.  I guess not.

Here's a little house box.  It's full of thank you notes.  Don't you think we should paint our houses light blue and red?
Luis, one of my sweet sixth graders, sold "butter braids" to make money for his football team.  DELICIOUS!  I had to have some this morning for my first breakfast.  Second breakfast is with a friend at 9 am.  After that, I am scooting over to Kelli's to scoop up the girls.  Kelli and Bryan have the stomach flu.  The girls have already had it, so they shall spend this sunny day at Granny's.
The leaves are changing, so I'll get out with my camera this weekend.  October is so pretty, isn't she?  It's time for a nature table.  Do you have a spot or surface in your house where you can place the findings from your walks?  I think this is another good reason to dust!
I feel sure that angels are attending you, people are feeling blessed by your kind and humble heart, and that your every day doings are building toward eternity.  I have a picture of Gumbo Lily's sheep in my desk drawer at school.  When I open it  to find a pen or pencil, I smile at them.  I am a fuzzy sheep.  I belong to the Good Shepherd.  Baaaaaaaa.
Click on Mole on the sidebar and check out the delicious tea Ratty, Mole, and Toad enjoyed in Canada! Stay tuned for the weekend, as more adventures unroll!
Stay snug.

Glad to hear that The Journey Stage One completed safely. My last blogswap went to Canada and took AGES too. Do ALL the Canadian Royal Mounted Police have to dismount and check EVERY package, do you think?

Oh yes, I am very aware that they arrived with Deborah! Not that I'm anxiously tracking them myself or anything!!

Love the fairy teapot and the sweet reminder of angels and blessings... Be blessed yourself this day, dear Pom Pom. :)

Hi Lovable Darling! So glad the boys finally got to their destination (must have been messing about in boats somewhere ;). That is a beautiful edition you've got there! I ordered a bio of K. Grahame from Netflix and watched it the other day -- interesing. You might like it.
I'm actually getting out and walking some again -- now that it's cooled off (yay!) -- there are lots of interesting little 'findings' on my path, acorns, pinecones, little mossy nesty looking things, beer cans ;), and feathers. I plop them (not the beer cans) on the kitchen mantle with the other fallish things I'm admiring at the moment ;). Fun, isn't it?
Happy weekend Little Sheep!

Oh yummmmmm! That braid looks deLISH! And two breakfasts, well, that is just The Best! Mike made our breakfast this morning. Did you know you CAN have bacon on a diet. =D
I have a vase of duck feathers I've collected on my mantle. Also in there are 2 goose feathers. And one heron feather on a shelf in a teensy vase. I need to post the duck head I hung on my wall!!! (Have I gone crazy?) Don't worry it isn't REAL.

Oh all is loveliness! Wasn't it definitely worth the wait- recuperative tea and scones and more adventures to come! This writing book reminds me of a title you might like- must dig it out...

We are just two fuzzy little sheep, gamboling about in the pasture of the Lord, attended by angels, our everyday doings building toward eternity! I love the "still, quiet waters" best I think. So refreshing.

And I think I shall have to read Wind in the Willows very soon...read it the very first time about 2 years ago so it's time to refresh my memory. I love the part where they go to the island searching for their friend...it made me cry those sad-happy tears of joy. I wonder what will happen when I read it this time?

Your little grandchildren are having a marvelous time right now, I'm very sure, at their Gran's house.

What wonderful birthday treasures. And that butter braid looks so good....I'd be having it for first and second breakfast AND lunch, snack and supper too.

I had the Littles today at my house. We had a great time.

I'm glad you keep the sheep in your desk drawer. We are sheep, yes we are.

Isn't it great! WITW has arrived safely at it's first stop - I am going to love following their adventures. I found a copy of the book in a charity shop for a pound this week to take for my holiday read. I am finding that reading childrens' stories as an adult is very rewarding! Yes, I think there are a lot of angels around - I wonder if there are some that don't belong to anyone and they are waiting to be invited into peoples' lives, my friend was here last night - we did some healing together as youngest boy has a hurt finger - I asked any spare angels to take her on! I would like a nature table - thanks for the idea - will organise it straight away. Love your cheeriness - you inspire. Bettyx

Betty the Wood Fairy reminded me of one of my favorite C.S. Lewis quotes:
"When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up." I think we're all in agreement with that! :D
I too, love your beautiful new copy of WITW! Be blessed as you read it!
Your fairy teapot is so cute. I've never seen one like that!
I enjoyed reading about the adventures of "the three" in Canada and I'll check in on them again soon. Thanks for all the fun you've created Pom Pom and Mags!
I am so glad to be one of The Shepherd's sheep! Like a sheep, I'm not always the brightest bulb. Thank goodness He is ultimately in control!
Love you!

The Willows are on their way to Oregon now. Let's hope they don't take as long going back to the United States as they do coming to Canada. I'm curious to know how long it will take. I had to laugh at Angela's comment right at the very beginning. No, no RCMP are involved in the checking of packages. Just the good ole customs officers. It really makes you second guess sending any baked treats in the mail though doesn't it?

As always, your photos fill my senses!

Be blessed, my friend!
Deborah
