More Kids Stuff

I have treasures waiting for me when I finish grading papers. I'm more than a week away from this papery fun, but I'm so looking forward to it!

Sometimes, the smaller Barnes and Noble carries good British magazines. I love them for it!

I need complete quiet to read my Wendell Berry poems. No quiet yet.

My quilting primer! I can't get my mind around making a whole quilt these days, but I think I can do something small. I'm still working on THE APRON.

Last, the paper doll book. It's called Black Apple. Aren't they cute? The author gives profiles of the dolls and they are clever and funny.

There are scenes and instructions for making a theater. Doesn't it look fun?

There are so many fun things to do, aren't there? Why let the kids have all the fun? Older girls need play time, too.
Now back to the student paper stack!

Thank you for stopping in and for your VERY personal and caring comments. I hope you have a sweet day today. May is such a lovely month and we have this May just a few days longer. Sniff a flower or two.

I have a huge stack of magazines that I have been working through when I have opportunity. I got through 3 of them last night while my girl was at choir & vbs rehearsal. A magazine is about all my attention span can handle these days. Isn't it fun to have a big, fat pile of things to look forward to?

I really like those British Country Living mags and others like them. I have a small stash of them (gifts from friends) that I keep around when I want to read a magazine on a blanket in the yard.

Not many flowers for sniffing here yet except for the sweet peas and loco on the prairie. They smell so sweet.

Happy Day!

Hi Pom! Look at all that good stuff you have to look forward to - soon -- yay! I love British Country Living -- my very favorite magazine. In fact, the only one I subscribe to anymore. And aren't the Black Apple illustrations good? You can buy her prints on Etsy (but you prolly already knew that ;), and I've had the one of the little girl flying on a bird's back in my cart forever -- need to go ahead and get it, don't I ;)?

Happy Summer Break!!!

GG

p.s. and the quilt -- maybe we could do a quilt along ;). I've bought about half the fabric I need for mine but must go to the big city to find the rest -- soon I hope! Can't wait to see your apron.

A lovely pile of reading to look forward to - my boys are on half term next week and I have a few things on one side like you - sewing, reading and possibly some house decorating. It is fun to have projects to look forward to. Bettyx

Here we can get both those magazines, but oddly one is twice the (French) price of the other. So I only ever buy one of them!

Pom Pom, What a fun post. I have been reading the "Inside a Black Apple" blog for years, and love her style. I need to add that book to my collection too! Paper dolls makes me feel so wistful and nostalgic, for quieter days. I wish you a beautiful, restorative weekend!

I see that doll's house up there! Thanks :) So cute. About the magazines -- I just came back from my mom's house, and she told me to take away ALL the Victoria mags that I wanted. She picks them up at resale stores. I think I brought home about 20. Yay!!
