Cute Looks

Before I go to school today, I wanted to look at happy innocent images. You see, yesterday I took my students to the computer lab and it rattled my nerves. Some of them had a really hard time settling down and "clicking" on the links I had set up for them. They unplugged things and moved around too much. One student called 911 on the lab phone. Yikes! I am praying for calm and peace to cover them for the next 12 days. Please keep saying prayers for me. Thank you!

So I'd like to pop into this storybook house and hide. Wanna join me?

I'll try to visualize the teenagers as cute little bunnies, and I will look deep into their hungry souls and remain calm. It's worth a try.

Speaking of bunnies . . . they have come to our neighborhood. Jenny said that in her neighborhood, they lounge around in the grass, not afraid of a thing. She has a huge yard and the bunnies might be there to stay.

On to more storybook pictures. Isn't the witch here funny? Don't you LOVE The Jolly Postman? I do!

I need a bike. I'm going to save my pennies and buy one.

Here are some Susan Branch images that are sure to delight. Susan creates an enchanting and inviting world. Do you know her? I'm a broken record, aren't I? I go on and on about my favorites and you are so nice to read and view.

Isn't Susan's stove adorable? I used to have stickers like this. If you are staying home today, could you make me some cookies?
It's time to iron and get dressed. I'm hoping that in spite of a meeting this morning which means a shortened planning time, I can create a little happy fun in my classroom today. I will remain calm. I will remain calm.
Thank you for popping in. I hope you like the pictures and I hope your day holds bouncy happiness!

Oh, bless your heart, Pom. I find your blog posts as charming as your pictures you choose :) We have the same taste in that -- I'd love to explore in that children's house for a day! Make cookies? Why, yes, I'll be home. I'll make some PB cookies, our favorite. They never last long, and are wonderful with milk. I wish I lived closer, and I'd bring you some :)

12 days. Not too long. And since today has already started, it doesn't count, so it's only 11 days! Do you do a count-down on your board? I always did. I'd make big, fat numbers, decorated, and re-draw them daily. The students finally realized that I was much more eager for school's end, than they were!

I hope you're having a blessed, calm day. Look at those teens and think of them as the little boys and girls they are. Babies. In need of love and guidance!

Lovely, lovely. I will be praying for your peaceful bunnies. I still love the look of the Richard Scarry illustrations. How many times did we read those books? The endless lists of different foods, rooms, vehicles and shops. Now I read them to my kids and they are still wonderful. I love you!

Oh dear Pom, hang on -- only a few more weeks til blissful summer vacation. Every time I took my students to the computer lab, it was utter chaos too, so I'm feeling your pain ;(.
Love the pretty & fun images -- you're so clever to fill you head with those lovely things and stay above the fray!
Blessings,
G

Lovely pictures and thoughts PomPom... we have a brown bunny on the allotment - everyone is rushing to cover their lettuce with netting! I have been a teacher today - youngest boy had to create a plant cell model and as usual had not planned, it was due in yesterday" so we made salt dough and used food dye, then cut/moulded the bits to make nice cell. fun.

Hi Pom Pom, this has been such an absolute joy to read! I do hope there is some peace and calm in the classroom in these final days as summer approaches. I do love your blog, and thank you for visiting my blog too xxx

Oh no! I would not be calm either! You poor thing! I would have been thinking very much about running away and joining the circus. The fun circus that is, not the crazy school circus! I hope today was better for you. I am sending you lots of good thoughts x x

Ah... love the breath of fresh air your posts always provide! :)

I am saving pennies for a bike too! We will have to compare notes. I haven't had one of my own since I was a teenager. We wont talk about how long ago that was! lol.

Sending warm positive thoughts westward for you and your students!

I very much like that stove and wish I had a sticker book in which I could stick pictures of pots on burners, etc.! So, so, so glad you're going to 6th grade next year--I bet they'll be less likely to call 911 on the lab phone!

Almost vacation--hang in there, darling!

oh dear, it's that time of the year when the students get absolutely feverish about summer. hang in there Pom Pom, you're in my thoughts.

it must be bunny season because we have discovered a cottontail rabbit living in our yard. it's been around so much i've named it nibbles. nibbles loves to lay under the hedges when it's warm outside and eat my tiny purple johnny jump-ups. that little nose goes a hundred miles an hour all the while. in fact i'm sure that is why it needs those resting times!

i agree, Susan Branch does lovely comforting illustrations and has been a favorite of mine too.

Oh, I remember reading the Jolly Postman book to my kiddos! Many years ago! I love the illustrations. I'm also a big fan of Richard Scarry and his cozy, colorful little animal homes. These are books I would buy for myself just to enjoy the pictures!
