A New Hat on a PERFECT Body

Sam's parents wanted to go hit a few buckets of golf balls on Father's Day, so Sam came over to lounge around with Granny. She has a new hat! Someone brilliant commissioned a straw hat for a six month old. Smile. When I put the photos on my computer, I realized that Sam has the perfect body. You may want to print this and put it on your refrigerator, instead of that bikini clad hungry person. You think?

This is how my brain feels this morning - all spotty. I have to take a class all week. Unit planning. I must take a big bag of materials, my computer, books, lunch, and stay ALL day. Maybe it won't be so bad. Maybe. I might take some pictures of all the "learners" and I hope I'll come away saying it was all very nice.

I had a creative idea. Since I am reading The Shell Seekers again, I am going to embellish the pages as I read. I am going to underline passages that I think are especially eloquent, draw little pictures when a picture forms in my mind, and also draw vines and flowers in the margins. I think it will please my heart the NEXT time I read it. Pictured below are three of my favorite Rosamunde Pilcher novels. I also love Coming Home.

I am going to buy a paperback copy of The Shell Seekers and give it to one of you. I'd like to send one to each of you, but I'm a miserable "get things to the post office" type of person. I'm way behind. But, I shall draw the name of one person who leaves a comment and even if you have a copy, you can spread the British loveliness and pass it on to a friend. I don't mind sending things across the sea.
Even though it will make my bag heavier, I'm taking it to class today. Have a flower day. Have a tea party day. Have the kind of day that compels you to write down a prayer of thankfulness. (BIG HUG!)

Pom Pom, I have seen this book so many times and never read it, I am going to get it from the library to read on holiday I think. I have never read a book more than once, it must be extremely good if you can do that! By the way, thanks for praying for me the other day, it came just at the right moment when I was having a difficult time. smiling your way! Betty x

I think it's a brilliant idea to hi-light passages that you love I often wish I'd done that as I leaf through a book looking for those well loved words.

Pom Pom, would you please remember us in your prayers, we're at a crossroad (again ! ) and in one month time we'll be 'on the road' again ( and with a motorhome ! )heading to south to see what the Lord has planned for us.

i know that i read (and enjoyed) The Shell Seekers as well as a few other of her books but don't have a clear memory of them anymore . . . only that they were enjoyed. i should look for a copy at the library and re-read this one.

hope your day was brighter than you anticipated it to be . . .

I love Rosamunde Pilcher's books. I've read them all including her short stories. I keep waiting for another book to come out. I think she's still alive, isn't she? I've read her son's books, Robin Pilcher, but much prefer the mother.

Have you see the movie The Shell Seekers? The book was better, of course. But I enjoyed the movie too. Angela Lansbury plays the lead.

You certainly have cute grandchildren! Oh, I'll tell you about my mid-life crisis when I'm on the other side of it. A lady in our church is counseling me through it. It may take a while! Nothing serious; just uncertainties...wondering what God would have me do with the rest of my life. That sort of thing...

Sam is adorable, I could just sweep him up and give him big hugs and kisses!

As a Brit, I have to confess I have never read any Rosamunde Pilcher, are you shocked? I am always unsure of whether or not a fictional book is going to be nice and wholesome or not...I'm an old-fashioned gal! ;)

I will look into reading "The Shell Seekers", the title sounds lovely.

Hope you're having a good day dear Pom Pom! xxxx

Oh little Sam is so adorable! Don't babies have the most wonderful, beautifully soft poreless skin? Sigh.

My comment had formed in my head before I realised this was a giveaway thing- so no need to put my name in the bag! What I WANTED to say was- I annotate Gilead when I read it, and now it's like a pre-Reformation text! Lovely and loved, every time! And I love your creativity- I am digging out my Lenten journal today for some more thinking, and I thought of you and wished I had some of that doodling flair!

How nice of you to give a way a copy of your favorite book. I have heard of it many times, but never have I read it.

Have a happy week.
