Happy Talk

Hello Sugar Plum!  One of our friends gave us  lovely plums!  Nana Go Go sent me a nice email explaining how to make plum jam, so I am going to do it today!
I made plum sauce with half of them.  They turn so purple!
I poured it over a moist piece of banana bread, squirted some cream on top and . . . DELICIOUS!
That same day, I drove out to Kelli's house.  I wanted to see their recently acquired rescue horse, Sven (yes, Frozen, you've seen it). The horse above is a neighbor horse named Cheyenne.
The horses (they board three but didn't have one of their own) were out to pasture.  First, I noticed that they painted their barn!  Pretty!
I had flip flops on my feet and I'm not completely comfortable with big animals, but Kelli, carrots in hand, went out to lure Sven up to the house so I could take some photos.
By the way, they moved their playhouse when they relocated and I thought you'd like to see it again because it's the cutest little Wendy house ever!
While we waited for Sven, Miss Bug and Millie Rose JUMPED!
Our girl Kelli has fallen in love with horses.  I'm sure glad it didn't happen when she was growing up.  #wecouldnothaveprovidedherwithahorse

Thank you for the visit, Sven. You're very cute!
Last Thursday we had errands to run and Kelli and Millie came with us.  When Plum Cake saw Granny's leopard car seat, she wanted to sit in it.  I brought her inside because we weren't leaving until later but the wheels were turning in her almost two year old head.  She said, "Granny's car!  Go home!"  She loves being home with her parents and sis.  I try to make her days eventful so she doesn't get homesick.  Samantha Rose is always happy to move from activity to activity.
 Aw, James!  Taking a snooze?
Jeff took this cool photo of his lovely wife and his son.  Mmmmmm.  I love my peeps.
 Dad and his boy!
Last night Jeff, Christie, and James brought over a treat!  A homemade pie!  And ice cream!  They received apples from a generous neighbor.  I had pie for breakfast and it was delicious!  A blue ribbon pie!  I know, this is not a good example of portion control.
I am off to run three errands.  Have I mentioned how thankful I am that I can buzz around during the day on roads that aren't clogged with after-work traffic?  I love the rhythm of days at home SO VERY MUCH.  I know, you know that already.  Sorry to be such a gush gush gusher.
Thank you for popping in, good neighbor.

That wendy house is amazing! How lucky is that child.

Isn't it great to just buzz around town on a week day. I love it. So is Sven going to be up for adoption? Do they ride him? How wonderful that they can take in a homeless boy. I love horses, as you know. Plum jam sounds good. Hope it turns out. And swett James. Such a cutie pie. Looks like your are keepin busy. Good for you.

What a yummy pie! I bet it is so much nicer you getting to run errands now. I love the red barn and the new horse.
I am so glad she has horses now.
Having a horse just makes life sweet.
Your plums look good too.
I love the girls in your car. How nice they like being with Mom and Dad.
This is just a wonderful post.

Lovely intersting eclectic collection of photos that truly sum up how you love life and your family. As always it's a joy to read what you've been doing. I am a tad nervous around horses, but Sven looks to be a beautiful boy.

Do not apologize!! Of course you love being HOME, and that feeling of newness and joy will stay with you all the time, for quite a while, and it will pop back up regularly, forever :) I love it too. What does Mary-Kate Danaher (sp??) from "The Quiet Man" say? She wants to "have her things about her." True sentiment.

I want to see pics of your plum jam, please. I bet it looks like a jewel.

I could not really tell from the photo how big that Wendy house is. At first I thought it was a real house -- full size! Then I thought it was like yours, big enough for a girl to play in. But then I wondered if it was a toy -- small enough to hold. Is it?

I love horses too, but am a bit skittish of them, I think b/c I haven't been around them enough. They seem very wise, but very nervous. I want a talking horse on the New Earth :) kind of like Narnia.

It's nice to know someone else would be delighted by a double scoop of ice cream, with pie, for breakfast. I resist, but I know that would be my choice too :)

It is wonderful to just putter around the house and garden isn't it. Such cute babies and I say have a second piece if pie! You only live once and pie makes the world a better place.

I love to hear you gush about how much you love being home. Reminds me of sweet things to come! I can feel your joy!
I was so blessed to get a horse when I was ten years old. My dear parents scraped up the money somehow and it must have been a hardship to support her. But what great memories! We had so much fun together galloping around the countryside. Probably not a possibility in this day and age.
Perky little James on Daddy's lap! That is a cool photo with the shadow.
I liked MK's "The Quiet Man" reference. Good movie!
Keep on enjoying life and gushing, dear friend! :D XXOO

I love the shadow on the wall of James and his mama. That is a precious picture. I could totally see my youngest getting horses when she is grown up. She has volunteered at a place that does hippotherapy and today was her first day. She is happy just cleaning out the barn, but she does more than that. :)
