Plum Cake's Birthday

Happy birthday to Plum Cake!  Aw!  It's fun to turn two years old, I think!
Granny did not bake a cake.  We never eat cake at dinner parties.  Jenny took it home.
Aw, she likes her little powder-scented baby doll!

 Happy!  Happy!

I know you are wondering what James is thinking.  Any guesses?
Jeff made a good point.  Why do they make toy baby bottles that serve up orange juice? Babies don't drink orange juice.

Samantha is SUCH a nice big sister.
James received texture balls as his party favor.  Yum!  Yum!
Yay for bath time tea parties!
 "Birthdays are exhausting!"

The sunflowers look different under grey skies, don't they?

Here are some cozy views.  Do you like HH?
It'd be alright if you want to plop down on the sofa.
This is my new "morning pages" journal.  Have you heard of morning pages?  Julia Cameron thought of it.  You write three pages a day.  Just write.  Sometimes I have to push myself to keep going and most of my stream-of-consciousness writing turns into a prayer.

I'm not much of a sports fan, but Plum Cake wore the hat I made her on Bronco day.  It looks a bit itchy, doesn't it?  Oh well.
Bill's at a meeting tonight so I'm going to have apples and carmel dip for dinner.  Mmmmmm.

I picked up a few leaves when I walked to the bank.  It's really fall.  Time to buy cider and candy corn.  Time to invite some people over.  Time to place our heads upon our pillows a bit earlier in the evening and say, "Thank you, God.  Thank you for taking care of me today."

such a lovely post! It looks like you had such a fun day. Your little Plum Cake looks like she had a nice birthday as did James with his toys.
I think you always have such nice days.
I am here now and I will write tomorrow. It is very pretty with gentle rolling hills and oak trees. Not as many people as L.A.
The smoke from the fire is there but not to bad.

Happy birthday, Plum Cake! It looks like the whole family made her feel special.

Yes, I'm feeling like going early to bed. Better to enjoy my day off tomorrow! Babysitting Hazel while Audrey goes to gymnastics. Grand babies are the best! :)

writing in a morning journal was something that I used to do before I started working on the computer and I haven't written in ages it seems. A great idea.

Happy Birthday Plum Cake.

Happy birthday to your dear little grand daughter and to you too!!! Yes, I could certainly get my head on the pillow early I love curling up in bed with a good book, cosy evenings, autumn closing in - I like all of it. James is a dear little chap, I think when he can talk he is going to be a very interesting and deep soul. Betty x

What was that you said? "Time to place our heads upon our pillows a bit earlier in the evening..." ?
Well, it's too late *this* evening, but I will consider your suggestion. :-)

Birthdays are always happy times. The Bronco hat looks so cute and warm. Little Plum Cake is a cutie. Two is such a fun age to watch. Has she reached the "no" stage yet? Have a lovely sun shiny day.

I almost bought some candy corn! Then I thought, "who will eat it? we are on diets!" so I declined. Plum Cake has the most amazing cheeks EVER. What a doll! Love her bright blue eyes. Happy birthday to her, and the dolly is perfect :) I also want to start doing all the fallish things. I think Julia and I will have an October Party on Wed., to welcome in my favorite month :)
