High Country Fun

Hello!  We've been away, high in the mountains, enjoying a short vacation with our girls and their families.  Do you see little Plum Cake trekking through the green grass?

Tutu-clad Millie played kick ball with her sisters and her cousin!
Sam had fun tromping through the tall grasses.

The spring rains made the grass so green up in the high country!  We went to the hot springs and Granny could have stayed in that big pool ALL DAY!  The minerals DO make a difference.  All my aches and pains = gone!  There is something to be said for soaking in hot springs after all.  Ha!

The VRBO (Vacation Rental By Owner) Kelli found was perfect for our brood!

Fun was had by all, but now I am in a mad rush to finish all my school work.  My last day is June 3rd!  Woo hoo!  I'm ready.  I feel a comforting sense of peace and calm about finishing up my term as a teacher.  I'm so grateful.

I visited the nursery!  I have a lot of planting to do.  Don't you love digging holes, adding water, gently placing the plants in the earth and then patting all around your new flower?  I do!
Gardening will be in full operational mode soon, but for now I am thankful for this pretty posy.  My sweet neighbor put it on my doorstep.
A student gave me this solar powered daisy!  It's a nice reminder of the sun and its great work.
I have a birthday lunch to serve at school today, so I must go chop chicken and bag up all the other stuff.  I have writing to grade.  I have packing to do.  Tuesday's coming!  Yippee!

What a great vacation spot -- and that grass is extremely green :) Looks like fun for all. I do wonder about Epsom salts, which are full of minerals. I've always felt they do help a lot, maybe like a mini-hot spring?

How wonderful to spend time together just relaxing and having fun. Glad you enjoyed your soaks in the mineral hot springs and that they actually DO work! I always wondered about that. And . . . yippee for your new life coming up just around the corner!!!

Your mention of the hot springs makes me want to at least go soak in the spa at the gym!
What a beautiful place - and how blessed to be part of a family who want to be together on vacation!

Isn't Colorqdo beautiful with all the rain that we have had? We have not had the hail up north like you in Denver; lucky. I need to spend time in the hot springs after all of the bending and stooping planting. You may want to return, too. Your last day as a teacher. You sound so sure. I was, but I wasn't. But our life as teachers will not end because we are grandmas and little ones will love having us around.

Looks like you had a beautiful green vacation! I had heard tales of hail and rain in torrents. Glad you had such a wonderful time and I'm so excited for you as you enter into your free years! Wish we had hot springs around here! Are you planning to mail any storybook characters around the world any time soon?
Now that my company's gone I'm digging in my garden. My morning glories are up and I transplanted a small tree. I'll have to buy more plants soon. Yay, summer!
