Monday, my walk on the trail was very nice. We hadn't walked it for a while and in that amount of time, this HUGE house popped up. Yes, this is a single-family dwelling. Yikes.
This lovely hunk of country is just a quick drive from our house (3-5 minutes).
Some people bike and some walk. My friend and I sauntered.
Look at these pretties. They match their barn.
Here is a little hideaway for you. I think you might find Mr. Badger in there, brewing you a cup of tea.
Can you see the lovely couple way up there in the distance?
Over the bridge now!
Wide open spaces!
About this time my friend and I were both saying, "Wow, the trail seems to go on and on today!" We were tired. At last we came to the chestnut-colored horses, a sure sign that we were just about back to the parking lot. We always go to Starbucks for coffee afterwards and have fun catching up on each other's lives.
http://youtu.be/-e0VkWRYaMI I find this song by Nickel Creek so sweet and I think you'll like it, too. Feel loved.

Hey -- you did "musica" like Susan :) Sweet song -- I have it playing as I type this. That house ... goodness, I thought we generally stopped building manor homes a couple of centuries ago. And that complicated roof line ... that must have cost some dollars! It's beautiful, but I often think how many people could be comfortably housed in such a place, in community, instead of just a few. Glad you had a relaxing walk on such a pretty day. Isn't it nice to catch up with friends?
Thank you for the pretty walk. Have a good school day.
Great walk. Wasn't it hot?
Great walk. Wasn't it not?
It looks like a lovely walk for a afternoon. I like wide open spaces like that.
I liked all of the neat places that you saw. I do the same thing on my walks. I am always looking for a secret place.
You did take pretty pictures of horses.
Have a lovely day today.
Wow! That's quite the house... glad I don't have to wash all those windows! What a lovely place you have to walk... so much to see!
What a gigantic house!
"i wish you out of the woods and into a picture with me" LOVE that thought. LOVE that music~!
when i seen the title of your post what instantly came to mind was reading "All The Pretty Horses" to my daughter when she was little . . . lovely times . . . and then when she was in fourth grade she created a picture using tissue paper that looked like horses at sunset . . . still have it and absolutely cherish it.
your walk looked very pleasant and the only thing that could make it better is sharing it with a friend, which you did. and the frosting on a delicious cake? a coffee with the same friend.
you lucky girl.
you've brightned my day Pom Pom.
i hope that your week is a lovely one.
:-)

a pretty area, but that house is freakishly huge - like it's own apartment community!
Nice walk! My second and last trip to the States was in an October and I am imagining your pictures in the Fall!
Looks like a nice walk and always fun to go with a friend. That house is way too big...don't think I would like to be the one to clean it. Nice horse barn. Hope school was fun for you.
Hi Pom
oh beautiful
what a neat barn..
the walk you take in those surroundings
is wonderful(:)
hugs..p
It looks like you had lovely weather. That house...all I can think to say is...Merciful Maude!
Really enjoyed your walk. The photos are awesome!
What a beautiful walking trail! I love the barn and horses. I can't believe that house! I thought, what pretty apartments. :) When I see houses like that I'm just always thankful that I'm not the one that has to keep them clean. :)
I think the big house is so interesting. The little attic windows make me think of The Magician's Nephew or the attic rooms that C.S. Lewis talks about playing in when he was a child. Intriguing!
What a beautiful walk! I often feel that I would like to pull over on the side of the road and hike straight into the wild woods just to see what's in there. I think I'll do a lot of that in heaven, when people won't think I'm so weird, lol!
I love cottonwoods. Such big old-fashioned trees.
Enjoy the end of summer!
(Bob just started physical therapy and is almost done with radiation. Please pray for strengthening of muscles so we can get out of here and go home!) :) Thanks, friend!
Oh, and I agree with M.K. I love the idea of living in community and sharing the financial burdens. In theory, anyway! :)
Oh, how I love walking along with you! I can not believe the size of that home. Seriously blows my mind. There is nothing quite like walking with the summertime sun shining down. Oh, and I just LOVE the look of your blog - everytime I stop in it cheers my heart.
What a lovely place to walk. Thank you for sharing. Beautiful horses too xx
