One More Day

Hello! Today is my last day of school for 2010! Two weeks of staying home awaits. Thankful!
Guess what? I received this cute surprise from an Irish elf! I love her. She spreads joy, reaches out, and loves with a nice squishy heart. Feeling very rich, I am.

There is nothing like a loving greeting from a friend that comes in the snail mail.

I love this English robin!

Isn't this card gorgeous?

I left my gingerbread house sticker up all year. I still like it very much.

I've gone overboard ordering Gladys Taber books. I'll share more about them soon.

For now, I'm stuffing student cards with candy canes, gathering up things for two breakfast meetings at school, thinking about what I'll say to send the students off for two weeks of teenager fun, and then after school we are having some lovely dinner guests. Tomorrow, I must survey this neglected nest and start stirring up dust. I can't wait! Sending a big bunch of love your way. Thank you so much for checking in with me today!

Good Morning Sweetie...
Two weeks of heaven and no early more crisis hu? You are such a jewel sweetie to be working with our teens. I have (3) of the 8 grandkids that are teens, and oh what a challenge they can be. So I can only imagine what you go through each and every day. You are a blessing sweet friend.

Love that you give each a card and candy cane. I never received that as a student, and what a beautiful gesture. Love the pic of all the candy canes in the bags. That is so cute.

Can't wait to see what the deal is with the Gladys Taber books. Now what are you up to?

Have a wonderful Friday, a beautiful dinner party. Don't forget to take pics.

Many hugs and much love, Sherry

Those teenagers are blessed to have been given you for their teacher. I think everyone of them walks away at the end of each term with a little bit of love and a warm glow put there by you. The little English robin looks familiar! I actually have the real one - there is a picture of him on the top of my blog - he comes twice a day and is eating fat off my pinecone feeders- such a pretty little thing and very tame - Amber knows she can't have him - she wouldn't dare! Enjoy your break from school - Betty x

I am so very glad you will have this time with your family. I remember how much I treasured these two weeks when I was teaching. Enjoy each and every moment. I must find Gladys Taber at my library. She sounds as if she might be a writer I would like. I love books that take me back to the countryside. The painters finished the outside of the house today: gray on the wood siding with white around the windows, and dark blue trim on the screens and the two pillars on our front porch. We need to wait till the sun is up tomorrow to see the full effect as they finished just at dark. The inside of the house is next. And I have all the photos uploaded onto a new post, and half the text written, so who knows? I may actually get a new post on my blog very soon. Unfortunately, my husband and I are going to do most of the inside work ourselves, and my energy level is not that great these days. Oh, Pom Pom, I need to find a way to have your faith these days. I am so grateful for your loving presence in this world of ours. xoxoxo Kari

Wishing you joyful freedom as you take two weeks off. You've got a nice stack of GT books there, some of which I have too. You'll have to look for the one she wrote about her dad called "Especially Father." I borrowed it from the library. It's excellent!

Hello, dear Pompom,
You received some lovely cards and gifts from your kind friends. Love that cute gingerbread house. I spy some red checked ribbon on your tree, too. Do you love to decorate with red checked ribbon? I sure do. It is so festive!! Enjoy your two weeks off, dear friend. Even though I only tutor two and a half days a week at my school, I, too, was ready for some rest time. I want to take this opportunity to wish you and your entire family a very Merry, Merry Christmas! Love and blessings always~Vicki

Hooray for holidays! I'm sure you found the perfect send off for your students. They are likely sucking merrily on candy canes and drinking hot chocolate as I type. Enjoy your break!
