Night Walk

Hello! Thank you for stopping by!
Yesterday, after school and dinner, I felt I could use some night time air. I headed down the road.

When I returned to our house, night had moved in just a bit more. Pay no attention to the stop sign. Don't stop. Keep doing that marvelous thing you do, okay?

Good Night, Moon. You're pretty.

Good Night Bunny. Hurry home to your mother.

Good Night Black-eyed Sue!

Night is good and it's going to get even better. Don't you love autumn nights? The air smells a bit smoky. The cool air kisses your skin. The covering of darkness tucks you into your soft bed a bit earlier. I am not ready to send summer away; she's been so kind to me this year. More night walks, more often, to clear my head and chase away the cobwebs.
What do you like about night time?

Night time walks are the best in my book. We usually go right as the sun goes down because it is just too hot otherwise. I love getting 30 minutes or so of him without EARS listening to everything we say. Then I love coming home and my kids all piling in the living room to talk.

Such a beautiful, hilly road you get to walk down.

oh sitting out in the garden sometimes in the dark and listening to the noises in the woods is what I sometimes like to do.

I can see the moon shining through the window as I type this. Serene beauty. I love the smell of night time air, especially in winter. Clean and fresh. Quiet. xxx

I like to sit here in the very middle of the house when they're all in bed and it is QUIET and read what inspirational American ladies have been doing!! Don't mention Autumn, Pom, it was actually sunny here today and washing was dried OUTSIDE! It's the weekend...

I love night time walks! We don't get to fit them in too often, but it's so peaceful listening to the cricket song and being able to talk with Murray without the little ears listening in. I'm not ready to kiss summer goodbye yet either, but there really is something so beautiful about fall too.

Have a wonderfully blessed weekend, Dear Friend!

Dear Pom Pom,

I'm leaving tomorrow for your fair state and a week of cooler weather. We're staying in Vail. Want to meet in Georgetown for tea some afternoon?

It's so good to visit you and walk together this night! Your blog looks beautiful, and it is as inspiring as it ever has been.

I do love night time! It's my chance to sit with my dear husband and watch old movies.

Enjoy your weekend!

I love walking at night in the summer. Everything smells wonderful after sitting all day in the sun, and the cicadas are loud in the trees, and it's all very fecund and sweet.

And I love when all the chores of the day are finally done and I can work on a quilt or knit a sock and relax until I get sleepy and it's off to bed!

I like night walks too. I like the sounds that are heard more clearly at night -- crickets, frogs, owls, leaves blowing. The moon lights the path. I liked the stop sign -- it said to me, "STOP, and look at that sky; stop and appreciate what I'm showing you."

Happy Day, Pom Pom!
