Some Stuff

(I think I took this photo AFTER I ate whatever was on the plate!)

Yay June!  Yay Mondays!  I tend to think Monday is a free day, but then I remember that I have to do my mail/accounting/receipting work for Bill's ministry and that entails going to the post office and then spending time in front of his computer and finally walking the mail and deposit to the bank.  Well, there's dinner to think about, too.  I like going to the grocery store for the most part, but I'm sure I'll get slightly distracted and spend more time there than necessary.  It's going to be very hot today which is really a lovely feature of summer, but honestly I don't like getting overly warm (I know, I sound like a broken record because I've mentioned this SEVERAL times!)

I organized all my art supplies, putting them in plastic drawers instead of storing all of the colored pencils and pens in mugs.  I'm painting the garden gnomes (so faded) and that is very fun, but requires some do overs because colors have to GO together, right?  I have lots of paint.  I'll show you the finished gnomes soon.
The trees outside our living room window are stunning, so green and leafy.  It's easy to take all of the wonderment of spring and summer for granted.  I don't want to.  I wish it was easier to look around open-eyed and cherish the sweet little blessings of warm weather.  Hanging wash on the clothes line is a huge bonus, isn't it?

I slept on and off last night and even though I didn't get up and lurk around the dark house, waking up a lot makes me think I'm tired.  Do you have a hard time recognizing that you are sleepy and that a little nap would REALLY help?  I think I need a cuppa before I do the errands.
I have photos of doings and peonies on my phone, but it is upstairs charging so I chose some lovely stored photos today.  I'll be back soon to show you a granny dress, my art center, my traveler's notebook, my knitting, and the flags in the garden.
Thank you for popping by this old blog.  I started blogging in 2008 I think.  Whoa. That's a lot of blog, blog, blogging.
(Talk soon . . . )

That's quite a running commentary you've got going here! Made me smile. I love all the color here, and that red bird clip is very cute. Can't wait to see those freshly pained gnomes! Enjoy your day and I do hope you don't get too overheated!

Free day...what is that ?? LOL...you do not make that sound like a free day my friend. :):) Doesn't it seem we can always find something to do. I started in the house this morning..well after watering the container plants this morning, then it's back outside to plants some things..back in to fix some lunch, do clean up and back out side. I remind myself of an ant. LOL. I love the cute dishes. Slow down sweet lady and enjoy some porch sitting...I planning that right now. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

I like being able to hang clothes on the line. I've got a full clothes line today since it's sheets day and everything else. It's getting hot here too and I need to mow.

Naps....yes, sometimes a 15 or 20 minute nap is just perfect in the afternoon!

Your Mondays sound very busy. I don't know what a free day feels like anymore. That's why I'm so looking forward to retirement but still, no buyers for our cattle. Maybe I need to pray harder. Come to think of it, I pray for everyone but I forget to ask God to send buyers...

I'm really trying to organize the garage because my husband is so disorganized and never put anything where it belongs. It's always so messy in there. I like everything in its place and a place for everything.

I love hanging clothes on the line, the fresh outdoorsy scent
is so desirable.

Congratulations on 10 years in blogging. That's a lot of blogging.
Sending you hugs, Julia

I always love your enthusiasm and zest for life! YES, it is great to be able to put the washing outside! Your bird pegs are very cute too.
What a nice Squirrel plate!
I totally know what you mean about your body not recognising when you need a rest!

Nana Diana shared how to fix the comment problem (comments not going to the blogger's email account) so I did it and we'll see if it works! I've just been checking my dashboard so I don't miss your sweet comments. Thank you!

Hello dear Pom Pom,
Hope your Monday is ending well and you figured out dinner. :)
Things are really green and lush right now and I'm enjoying that.
Peonies are really amazing, aren't they?
Hope you sleep better tonight. It's a rare night when I don't wake up sometime in the night or early morning. Oye.
Blessings!

I think its interesting there is a bunch of us who started blogging in 2008. I am so glad you did and I have got to meet you. Its hot here today too. I think I like it a bit more than last summer. It doesn't seem so harsh.
Loosing weight does have its benefits. I want to enjoy summer instead of racing by longing for fall. I want to be happy right where I am. I love reading about your day. I also love that clothes pin.
I hope you have a wonderful day.

I love your sunshiny, happy little world, dear Pom Pom. Here in Australia we hang washing on the line all the time. There is nothing quite like that sun-filled fragrance of clothes after a day on the washing line. I can't wait to see your granny dress. =)

Your Monday is a busy one! Sundays are usually free for me. We keep on roaming outside or take rest in home.
I too love to go for shopping. I go to each and every counter and spend time also to know about new things came into market. This sometimes makes me to spend little more amount than planned one.
I like to have a small nap when i feel lazy than having a cup of coffee.

I'm glad you have written all these blog blog blogs for me to read read read!!

And I was just thinking yesterday, and today, and the day before, how perfectly heavenly it is to have warm air in which to hang sheets, and in which to warm my old bones. It's not so great for taking long walks in... but if I do those early in the morning I'm okay. THANK YOU, Lord! for the sun!!!

I tend not to like Mondays. It's always my busiest weekday. But I am loving this time of year too.

I love all the stuff you blog about, and will be looking forward to seeing the granny dress (it's probably something I will love) and the other stuff too.

All the photos here really make me smile. You're a busy woman. I need to get a few mugs of pencils and pens off my desk.

Thanks for popping by the Gypsy while I was gone and leaving a comment. Until Blogger gets it's mail sorted out I need to thank you here instead of a note. Sigh...

Pom, I've been fussing with my sleeping habits too. I allow myself to get up and "lurk around the dark house" (haha - that's a hilariously accurate description!!!), but yes, it makes you feel really tired. I take a nap most days about 2:00, and it seems to help. And if I get sleepy in the evenings, I'll lie down on the couch and take a cat nap, and then I feel refreshed. Sleeping is tricky as we get older, I think. Now that I'm off my sleep tabs, I'm trying to get my patterns back to normal. Can't wait to see your granny dress!!!

Hey, I remember painting a picture of that little mug at the bottom of your post! :)
It's okay. I think a lot of us would rather not have the REALLY hot days. We had some cool rainy days where I had to bring out my flannel shirts for a couple of days. I didn't mind a bit!
I look forward to seeing what you're doing as you organize your art center, the granny dress and all the other interesting things you're up to. I feel the need to do some organizing and maybe donating some items.:)
It looks like I started my Backwoods Crazy Quilt blog back in 2009. Wow. Time does fly.
God bless you, friend!

Oh, and yes, I'm having the sleeping problems, too. Partly an age thing, I think. But I do have to make myself take a nap sometimes, and it usually helps a lot. :)

I love your little squirrel plate, I bet your grands love all the different crockery you own, it's so fun. Yes I get sleepy, sometimes I nod off in the garden on my day off, I think it's good for us to have a little siesta.

Pom, I wish I agreed with you about the heat, but it's not my friend. Well, actually, the humidity is not my friend. The heat isn't so bad if humidity doesn't visit with it.

Love this post! So bright and cheerful. Looking forward to seeing all the things you're working on and especially those gnomes!

Have a good night! Hope you sleep better!
