Kids, Flowers, Knitting and Rest

I've been doing granny things for days and I think I can say that I am in "granny shape" as far as staying bright and alert goes.  Ha ha.  Sam had fun sleeping over.  She watched Winnie the Pooh and went to bed like a dream.
We took a neighborhood walk and found a lot of glowing flowers.

James received a club house for his birthday.  His daddy stayed up until the wee hours putting it together.  Isn't it cute?

I keep plugging away at seven knitting projects.  This one is (gasp!) about 31 years old because I started it for Kelli when she was a toddler and now it MIGHT fit someone.  We tried it on Lizzy and she said, "It's BIG."  We'll see.
Mr. Sleepy Puss is doing a lot of sleeping.  He occasionally chases bugs or looks out the window at birds, but overall he sleeps like a rag doll.

I'm reading a really good book titled Keeping the Sabbath Wholly by Marva J. Dawn.  It's about Sabbath rest and letting go of trying to do God's job.  I highly recommend it and I highly recommend becoming acquainted with Marva J. Dawn.  She's wise and soft.

Noah is coming over for a while so Mommy can take James to his three year check up.  I had better dry my hair and put a little something on my face.  I don't want to scare anyone.
Thank you very much for stopping in to say hello.  You're friendly.

James looks so happy with his clubhouse. It must be so fulfilling doing the granny duties. You must get lots of kisses and hugs. That book you mentioned sounds like a good one. I'll check it out.

Sounds like you are really busy. I like kitty's napping - oh so cute and cuddle.

It's so great that you are so close to where your grandchildren live and that you can spend quality time with them.

Have a great week.

Hugs,
Mary

Your book recommendation sounds wonderful.
Have a wonderful time with Noah. I love James standing in front of his house in his batman shirt. I also think that that top picture of Sam laughing with Pooh is such a cute picture.
I hope you have a lovely week.

Timothy is one very relaxed kitty!! The two cats that live in the other half of the house are very active at times, chasing each other like crazy. Then they take long naps.
James must be happy to play in his new clubhouse. He's getting so tall. Soon he'll have to stoop yo go through that little door.
Have a good week!!

Ha ha! I LOVE it! I 31 year old knitting project! I still have years to go to catch up with you! :D My knitting projects consist of several skeins of yarn and an assortment of knitting needles in a drawer. Such potential!

You guys are light years ahead of us on summer. I need to rummage through my kids' barn and see if I can find a few gardening implements.

Love the fun grands. Congrats on the new playhouse, James!

James clubhouse is so cute and I love all the poses of your sweet kitty. We don't have a cat anymore. Just a dog. Sounds like you really keep up to those grandchildren! Me not so well anymore! Nancy

Jame's club house is the best! How fun to sleep at your house. Sam is a lucky girl. Pretty as pretty flowers and doesn't Mr Sleep Puss look contented on those colourful woollies. I did chuckle your knitting has been on needles for 31 years. Me thinks that must be a record.

Your cat is so beautiful! I love the pics of him on your knitting (a scene often replicated in my house when I used to knit more than I do now!) And that playhouse is adorable!

Happy week!

Very cute clubhouse and James looks very pleased! I admire you for continuing on with a 31 year old knitting project. I probably would have lost it by now! Cats certainly have perfected the art of sleep. Have a great day.

Love that little house and the fact that you had such a nice time with 'your' girl!
My dad was not religious at all. However, he insisted that after the morning farm chores were done that the farm work was put on hold until milking time at night and then anything else waited for the rest of the week. The only exception was if there was hay in the fields that had been cut and there was a storm coming--then it was all hands on deck to get the hay into the barn...Sunday or not.
I will look for that book.
Hope you have a great week-xo Diana

You're wise and soft too! Love the painted toenails. I'm late with mine this year because it's been so cold! That's some swanky playhouse. Wouldn't mind it for myself. Carry on Knitting!xxx

I love James's house, esp. the lovely stonework. Clearly, he's enjoyed the house at your place :) Your knitting, as ever, looks lush and pretty! I like what you said about not trying to do God's jobs. I think that's one of the main wearisome things that Christians do (with all the best intentions, but usually with disastrous results). Thanks.
