Light and Pretty

I decided it would be a good idea to finish one of my works in progress.  Cozy socks.  I learned a lot from following the directions.  Details associated with sock knitting began to make sense.  Our brains are miraculous that way. The alpaca vest below doesn't really fit right.  It's too short so I am making a cabled band to lengthen it.  Vests don't really flatter my robust torso, but I can hope that my girth will decrease over time, can't I?

The blossoms are out and we're hoping the rain/snow that is expected won't ruin the lacy beauty.  I planted sweet peas today and the wind was blowing furiously.  God bless the sweet pea seeds.

Bunches of daffodils were on sale at the grocery store.  They glow with sunshine.  Little trumpets.

I have not forgotten about drawing Easter dresses.  I'm going to do it right now.
You draw some, too.

Karen, love those socks! What a nice talent to have, especially in winter! I used to plant sweet pea seeds every spring, but I haven't gotten around to it the past two springs.

Oh my, what lovely, cozy socks! I'm always so impressed with you knitters! I can't believe you already have blossoms on the trees. I'm seeing daffodil and tulip points spearing up through the earth. It's happening!

Okay, now after reading your posts and MK's I really NEED to make some hand bound journals AND knit some socks! I'm so inspired! I have hopes that someday sock knitting will become second nature. Drawing Easter dresses sounds like a cheery pastime!

Haha! I keep hoping my girth will decrease but so far no such luck!
The socks are so delicate... reminds me of an Angel Food cake I made once ( from a mix) and it had colourful little flecks in it.

Lovely to see your daffys Pom Pom as our leaves begin to fall. Your socks look so wonderful. I wish I could knit socks !! It seems that the winds are always so strong when the blossom trees are out.

Good for you, finishing a project! I find that when I finish one, two or three others pop up. Your socks are pretty!

Oh yes, Easter dresses with pretty bonnets to match. Love those socks of yours with pretty speckles of colour. Your vest is sweet too. I like the idea of cabling a band to add to the bottom. Oh, expanding girths.....I understand completely. =) How pretty those yellow trumpets of Spring time are. They do herald the onset of Springtime beautifully, don't they.

Oh my Pom Pom, your confetti sock are beautiful and so is you cable vest. Your knitting looks so even. I think a cable band will really add some style to your vest. Necessity is the mother of all invention.

I love those bright daffodils and I'll have to wait till mine wake s up from the frozen ground under the snow. It's slowly coming as time seems to be just a blur.Time is flying so fast.

Have a splendid weekend.
Hugs, Julia

I do love those socks. I just love the fun things you do. I like the idea of drawing Easter dresses. Doesn't it make you remember being a little girl and having to have a new Easter dress?
I hope you have a lovely day. Rain and snow?
Stay warm. Have a lovely Friday.

The winds are howling today over here in our part of the country too. Good day to stay inside and catch up on those wips. I know it feels good when you finish a project so wear those socks proudly today.

Your socks look cosy. I forgot about drawing Easter dresses. Will send one in my next letter. Hope those little sweet peas survive. I never have any luck with them as they are so fragile and get blown about too much, I do have nasturtium seeds though.

What a nice cozy looking pair of socks. Great job.
Love those daffodils. I just noticed today that mine in the front yard are just popping up out of the dirt.

Oh, boo, my comment from Thursday hasn't showed up! Anyhoot, lovely cosy, squishy socks and yes, the daffodils gladden your heart, don't they. I'm taking a couple of minutes to write this while I wait for the Grandies to turn up for their all-dayer, overnighter...I'm ready!!xx

I think I might! Will you host an Easter dress party? Will there be tea and cupcakes? Outside? Mmmm! I have been trying to crochet a vest for two years. TWO YEARS. Now I have lost the book with the pattern, and in those two years I have gone up two dress sizes, so there it nearly sits. It might do a skinny boy, if the book ever shows up...

I can't even draw a stick man, so you don't want me designing an Easter dress, lol! Love your new socks though, they are lovely, and look so warm and comforting! It is disappointing when you put a lot of work into something & it doesn't fit... I think your addition to the sweater will make it lovely :) Hard to believe Easter is around the corner... love the pictures of blooms in your world... tulips are just starting to poke their heads out of the ground, will be a while before we see blooms though :) Hugs!

Your socks are perfect! I can't imagine being able to knit socks. That seems complicated to me! A scarf I can handle. ;)

I love the yellow daffodils and think it is wonderful that you are planting seeds. :)

I promise to draw an Easter dress or two, later today. Take care and have a beautiful week!

I had forgotten all about the Easter dresses! I need to do that. I'd love to watercolor them too, but perhaps it would be more realistic to draw and colored-pencil them? :)
Your socks are just perfect!! And that cabling is gorgeous. You are getting some very fine knitting skills, dear! Keep at it. I need to get back to the pair of socks that are 3/4 done and have been sitting, waiting for me, for years. Sigh.
