A Kitten

I'm so happy because we have a kitten!  Miracle!  This is Timothy.  He is very shy so I don't have lots of photos, but he is our little house cat and we are enjoying his company when he allows it.  He is an extremely good hider.
Plum Cake, Jenny, and I went to the big pet store where they have rescue cats and kittens.  Timothy was hiding behind his sister but we jumped up and spied him in the top cage.  We texted Bill in New  Zealand and said, "PLEASE?"  He said, "Okay."  Yay!
Bill loves cats so I'm glad he came around and agreed that we needed a sweet little petty pet!

I have been knitting and knitting.  I'm finishing Bill's socks, working on a hat for the new baby (coming in a few weeks!  Yay!) and I have many more works in progress.
I'm hosting my book club here on Wednesday so I hope I get in the mood to tidy and clean.  We'll see.
I loved the book!  Have you read A Man Called Ove?  I highly recommend it.  I cried at the end and I rarely weep while reading a novel.
While Bill was away I was busier than I usually am.  I didn't sleep very well so now I feel behind on my snoozing.
Do you ever grow hyper-analytical about how you feel?  I find myself wondering about everything I eat, how much sleep I get, and how productive I've been.  Frankly, I think it's a bit cuckoo.
Another thing I've been thinking about is the fact that our garden was less than satisfying this year.  Too many cucumbers.  It's thrilling to see big cucumbers hiding in the vines, but they were very piggy, taking up so much space.  Also, we had to kill off the purple herb-y plant in front and I think we depleted the soil too much.  Next year we shall have a lot of good garden soil and LOTS of flowers again.

I will use my good camera to photograph our little baby Timothy.  This morning he acted more like a kitten as opposed to a worried old man.  He hopped around, played with his mouse ball, and tried to sniff my coffee.
I'm impatient.  He's so easy because he's been a night owl.  He eats a lot (very skinny - sad!) and uses his kitty box like a champ.
He's cozy.  He's darling.  Yay!
Be back soon.  Thanks for calling in!

Sweet Timothy! He is adorable. I'm sure he'll get more and more brave. I get analytical about things like that too. Have a great day.

Timothy sure is a cutie.
I feel exactly the same way as you do about those cucumbers. I'm about to rip all the vines out and be rid of them. : )

Oh Timothy is adorable! What a cutie for sure! He's a tabbykins too!!!
I'm waiting for my first cucumber. I've got a greedy squash/courgette plant that is taking over the bed but has it produced one measly fruit? No!!!!x

Oh, I am so happy that you got a kitten, and a sweet little Tabby. He looks so much like our Dumperoo (I know, what a name!) So am I, looking forward to a better garden and more flowers next summer. I had the biggest, most beautiful cucumber vine ever and pulled it up because it was growing out of control and covering the tomatoes vines. What a mistake! The tomatoes were no good this year and the vines died in July.

I have a hard time when my Husband is gone too; easy to get wounded up and too anxious. I don't think we should be anxious about being productive; but I know that anxiety very well, sadly; I don't get it though; when did being 'busy' become a way that we tried to either prove to others that we have worth or somehow think we need to earn approval and even worse, that God wants business instead of our hearts and our life becoming more and more aware of His presence and being present to Him. These are things I am aware of as truths but am still working on having them permeate my life. God is like the water we are craving while our souls are like hard dirt from lack of water, so that when water comes, if often pools off instead of soaking in. Somehow being too busy and anxious, I see, create such poor soil, but honestly, I am still working on and hoping that my soul can be come soil that the Holy Spirit, the Water of Life, can permeate.

Congrats on your new furry friend. Hope he adjusts well.
Knitting for the new baby sounds good, too. Hope you sleep better tonight!

I am so happy for you! a pet makes a home complete. This little kitty will be so loved; it's great that he's a rescue cat too....I'm all for that (Amber was rescue too). Hope he settles in quickly and lets you stroke and cuddle him lots. I think you did well with your garden and grew lots of useful/edible things. Isn't planning the next year's garden lovely? reading gardening books and browsing seed catalogues - blissful. Betty

OOOhhh sweet Timothy ... so beautiful & cute & gorgeous. I am so very pleased for you Pom Pom as I know you have wanted a kitty for a long time now. He will bring you so much joy I am sure. I don't sleep well at all when my hubby goes away & so then you get a sleep deficit ... & then you worry more about things in general. Its a slippery slope. Sending hugs to you x x x

Your Timothy is so sweet. He will soon behave like a playful, completely at home kitty. How could he not living in your happy home. You had too many cucumbers.....I had too many zucchinis. I don't think I can look at another zucchini slice this year! It sounds as if you have a busy and full week. You will be the perfect hostess at your book club. The book sounds great; I love a good book that makes the tear ducts overflow. Have a lovely week, lovely lady....happy knitting and happy hostessing.

OH so nice to see Timothy! I like that picture with Bill holding him. He will be a pal I can tell. He will help you knit I bet.
Oh yes, I do the same thing. Sometimes I wish I could go on vacation from all of my thinking.
You know, it seems like I read that book. I am glad you liked it. I think it sounds like fun that you are having a book club at your house. I always thinks it helps me get stuff done when I have people over.
Have a wonderful week. So glad your new baby will be here in a couple of weeks. What a nice thought.

I'm so happy for you that at last you got your wish for a sweet kitty granted. How much joy he'll bring you!!
As far as being analytical I can definitely sympathize, being an introvert and given to way too much thinking. I am beginning to realize though that having reached my age and not been able to change myself I better accept that that's the way I am. Have a super week.

Oh, what a kitty! Mr. Timothy. I like his name. It suits him. I'm so happy for you and Bill. Cats are nice to cuddle with -- when they want to.

I'm happy for you, PomPom!! I think you have the perfect home for a kitty. A cozy Mom who knits, a Dad who loves cats! And just in time for winter...

I'd love a kitten, but everyone around here is allergic except for me.

I cried at the end of A Man Called Ove, too. What a wonderful book!

Timothy looks a lot like our Rollie! Have a wonderful time with him. I haven't read the book you mention but I am reading another by that same author -- "My Grandmother Asked Me To Tell You She Is Sorry". It is a sad book and I find myself sort of slogging through it. Probably not a good choice for me. Our new bookstore has some bookclubs going on and I would love to join one but not until things settle down here. I wonder if there are any online ones?

I LOVE Timothy!!!
There is nothing in the world like a new kitty :-)))
We love cats in our house too!
I'm anxious to see your new grandbaby when that arrival happens as well.
I never sleep well if Scott is gone, which doesn't happen often thankfully.
I have not read that book yet but it's on my list and both of my daughters read it for the book club they are in together back in the Spring and they LOVED it.
By the way, I often find myself in hyper-analytical mode...
Love to you Miss Pom Pom...
