(Please pop over to Lisa's! Mr. Badger is on the move again!)
My bloggy break has come to an end! Yay! It was a good discipline for me to spend less time clicking and typing. I missed this space and I missed all my favorite spaces, too. I did write on real paper and read real books, so that's sorted for now. Ha!It's been so pretty here in our neck of the woods! Pink!
Last Tuesday we had a snow day. The girls came over and we had a happy day together, drinking tea and enjoying each other's company.
James says, "On a sour scale of 0-10, I give this pickle an 8!"
Guess what happened? Bill got bitten BIG TIME by a flu bug ON HIS 60th birthday! Can I get a round of "POOR BABY!"? We all felt so bad for him. He missed his party at Kelli's. He is feeling better now but still has the head cold part of the nasty flu and a cough. He did have the flu jab so NO FAIR! Anyway, the girls came over and sang to him. They didn't want to get too close (germs germs no returns).
We just had a two-day retreat with Bill's ministry people. It is always life-giving. The people are such a rich group of good souls.
Now, to prepare for Thanksgiving. I bought a free range turkey that I'm hoping did not get treated badly. I shall bake pies on Wednesday. I am so looking forward to the potatoes and turkey gravy. There is nothing as tasty as golden gravy.
I am all ready to sew my Dottie Angel dress. I have the fabric and the notions. I'll take a photo when I finish it. Prepare for a glimpse of a nice round white haired granny. I have a feeling that on ME, it might look like a fancy apron.
Tomorrow is our Samantha's sixth birthday. It is grandparents day at her school so we'll take her out for a birthday lunch before afternoon kindergarten and then enjoy her classroom. She'll show us around.
I hope you are feeling fine and enjoying a peaceful state of mind.
God be with you, sweet visitor.

Oh phooey, so sorry Bill got sick for his birthday. Good not to expose the rest of the clan. Sounds like you have some tasty plans for Thanksgiving. I love Thanksgiving. Enjoy your loved ones and all that good food!
I am so out of the loop I don't know what a Dotty Angel dress is--I will look it up as soon as I finish this.
Glad you are back. It is good to take breaks and live real life sometimes.
So sorry your hubby had the flu. The truth is, the flu shot doesn't protect you from ALL flu...so who knows what bit him. Poor guy!
Glad you had some fun withe your little sweeties. Have a great night- xo Diana
So much joy oozing from this post!! Well, except the Bill being sick on his b-day part...but still! We raised a turkey this year and have him thawing for the big day as I type. :) Will have 25-30 to serve this Thursday! We're making keilbasa on Wednesday night...yum! Yeah for returning to blogging! Yeah for Thanksgiving prep! Hope yours is a blessed and happy day,
xo Lisa

so sorry hubby got the flu! and with the shot too. I take it, you all had the shot... and did not get it, from him.
we always get shots, but one year, there was a strain not covered, and we all got the flu. awful!
more sewing. you are trying to show me up! -grin-
don't know what a dottie angel dress is, but will, when you show it. :-)
as to the round part, I have decided to embrace my resemblance to Mrs. Santa Claus, for now. ya' know, how she is always warm and sweet and just right of her part? if it's good enough for her, it's good enough for me! LOL

Oh wow, you did got a good snow storm. The pink sky photos are just awesome. Such beauty.
Love that pickle eating baby. Pickles makes me squint too sometimes.
Sorry about poor Bill getting the flu bug. Not fun at all. I know a lot of people got the flu already this time of year.
Stay warm and safe.
Hugs,
JB

Too bad Bill was sick for his birthday - no fun!!
Looks like the snow didn't stick around. Can't believe we haven't had any yet except for a few days of flurries. Very unusual.
Have fun baking those pies.
Yaay for you being back. Boo to the flu bug that bit your Bill. Imagine the flu jab not working but they do say that it doesn't cover all flu's. Bad timing for his birthday too. That pic of James is a hoot! Loving your new header pic. Hope you've had some knitting time too. Keep warm and cosy and bug-free. xxx
Poor Bill!!! I.hope he is better soon! Rotten luck eh?
James is so funny, he looks most displeased! How long his hair is getting! Such a sweetie! I look forward to your Dottie dress!Xx
There's our wonderful, Pom Pom! So glad you're back!
I wanted to stop by and wish you a most wonderful Thanksgiving.
Have the best time my dear.
Much love.
"Poor, Baby!" :) Glad he's feeling better. I'm finally feeling better after about 3 weeks of being sick. Sheesh!
I think we're going to go out to dinner for Thanksgiving. Probably next week when son Jordan comes to visit. But I'm going to make myself Thanksgiving dinner at home so I'll have "leftovers" to enjoy! :)
Good to have you back in blogland! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! :)
