A Black Hat and the Lovely Jane

I'm writing in green for the veterans.  God bless them.
I took a trip to the crafty store yesterday and bought the Dottie Angel dress pattern, but I also bought yarn.  I am making Bill a hat.  The yarn is Paton's roving.  I used an old pattern his mother taught me.  Cast on a number divisible by four + one.  Knit 3, purl one.  Since I decided to work in the round it does look a bit different but I like it!
I also bought this!  What a gorgeous publication!  Literary thinking AND patterns.  On my walk yesterday I listened to Austen's Persuasion.  Perfect.

It's snowing this morning.  I must go to the doctor for my annual check up.  My doctor is so kicked back and easy.  I like him.
Happy Yarn Along to knitters and other sweet friends!

Karen, the hat pattern is really pretty; it may cause me to deviate from my standard which is similar. That issue of KNITS...may have to drive to Bristol to buy it...the lace patterns look astonishing!
You're clever for figuring out how to write in green...I may try as well.
Snowing, eh? Better you than me...lol.

I am so envious that you have snow! Please enjoy a little for me.
I really like the look of your hat and will have to cast on that
pattern myself, thank you.
I have the Dottie Angle Frock pattern too, but haven't tried
sewing it yet, sewing is a skill I struggle with.
Happy Veterans Day

that book would be lovely, _just_ for the photos!!!

Oh snow!!!

Best of luck with yearly. I love my doctor too. Actually all my doctors, now that I've moved on from that blasted former dentist.

Stay warm hug, Tessa

Snow is pretty but I really don't want any till Christmas Eve. You better keep knitting since the snow has arrived. That's a pattern that I've knitted before. It will look great.

Such pretty lace in that pattern book.

Hope all is well with your visit to the doctor.
Hugs,
JB

I love the Jane Austen knits! I need to get that! I have seen it a few times, but haven't purchased, and can't for the life of me figure out why since I love Pride and Prejudice so much...love the hat! My hubby needs one as well.

What a very nice pattern. Is it a blizzard, the weather man said? Stay all bundled up.
I love your yarn along days. How fun that you got to buy new things. I do love listening to books while I walk or sew or hook.
Have a perfect day.

You've managed to make me feel relaxed and inspired all at the same time...
Your lovely knitting... and all the Jane Austen... I can never get enough of both of these things :-)
And I have a fabulous doctor too.
She's been my doctor/friend for almost 30 years now.
Have a lovely day dear,
Danette

What a pretty pattern on the hat! And I love Jane too. I noticed the new Jane Austen knits at the local yarn store this weekend. I think I will put it on my Christmas list. Enjoy!

You could always turn the hat inside out. Knitting in the round is great for folks who detest purling apparently! We're in for a real 'stooshie' of a storm tomorrow night - she goes by the 'Jane Austen-ish' name of Abigail! I'll be battening down the hatches and picking up my knitting! Good Luck with your doc's appointment.

And the hat is grand!

Oh yes! I guess I heard the folks on the Weather Channel talking about you folks around Denver getting some snow. Enjoy your knitting as you wander into winter. :)

We didn’t get much snow here…darn, had to go to work. Being Veteran’s day and my best friend (hubby) is a Vietnam Vet , I am off to take him out to dinner. One of his DD took him to lunch and the other DD to breakfast. The man has had not a bite today in his own house, as it should. Jane Austin magazine and knits is a great way to get lost for several hours, especially if the weather encourages such behavior.

I need that magazine! I have all the others :) Lovely hat!!

Lovely knitting!
I really like the Jane Austen inspired magazines, but I never knit anything from them, won't go with my style. Still love watching at them! hehe.
