Hobbit Real Estate

We're home!  Yay!  We are happy, happy, happy to be snuggled back into our home sweet home.  I'm overwhelmed by all my phone photos so I uploaded only a few hobbit houses from Hobbiton.  The pictures do not do it justice as it is SO REAL and so amazing, plopped down in the middle of an immense sheep farm.  Don't you want to live in a hobbit house?  Me, too!

We loved Auckland and Queenstown and I'll parcel out a few words about them in days to come.  We ended our trip at Pearl Beach just an hour and a half from Sydney.  I Waterlogued this picture of the lavender growing by the house.
Now that we are back to our own hobbit garden we are pulling weeds and feeling super grateful for the flowers and fruits!  We found three zucchini this morning and 5-7 cucumbers!  Hooray!

We're still a bit jet lagged and will be for a few days.
I missed our coffee, our bed, our "do as you please" approach to food and grooming.  I didn't have a hair dryer for a good many days and that isn't fun.  I'm picky about my dumb hair.
Today we're catching up with family, doing our laundry, snoozing a bit here and there, and enjoying the sunshine.  It was cold in New Zealand.
Thank you for checking in!
Love, love, love.

Oh, how lovely! Rest up, dear Pom! Don't rush back into everything unless you feel like it, okay? We can wait! You probably need to catch your breath and some zzzz's after all of that excitement. Congrats on the veggies!

Oh these hobbit houses are just incredible! We went for a walk in our local woods today and found a veritable village of fairy doors at the base of tree trunks, but it all pales into insignificance beside this!

those hobbit houses are amazing and think it would be delightful to live in one. providing they accommodate my rotund figure, of course. glad you're home, glad you had a great time and, yes, I am still jealous -grin-.

I love the hobbit houses. So nice that you could visit Hobbiton but there's nothing like home.
Your zucchinis looks so yummy. Sadly, I didn't plant any this year.

Things will be back to normal for you ina few days.
Thanks for checking in.
Hugs,
JB

Welcome back. I think we all miss our own bed and our own bathroom when we're away! Hobbiton must be an amazing place to visit. I have no idea what waterloguing is but it made a pretty picture. Hurray for cucumbers and zucchini. Enjoy them and the flowers too.

Glad you are home. Travelling, for all its joys, always reminds me that there's no place like home! I could definitely live in a hobbit hole. I may, in fact, be part hobbit. ;). Love your waterlogged lavender. Pretty, pretty!

I read The Hobbit in 7th grade (eons ago) and ALWAYS have wanted to live in a Hobbit house! Maybe in heaven?
Glad you're back in the old U.S. of A.!
You picked 5-7 cucumbers? Which is it? ;)
Ha ha!

Ah yes, it's their winter, isn't it? You have to pack more clothes then. Glad you are HOME, and your trip was wonderful! I do love those hobbit houses. I'm very much a hobbit, and NOT of the traveling, adventurous Baggins kind! When I see those lovely round-doored holes, I long to live there quietly, privately, and have nobody bother me. I want to putter around in the long halls and make buttered toast :) Welcome home, Pom!!

Catching up on your New Zealand pictures! Michael has been there several times. I have not. We have good friends there so maybe someday we will go, though I dread the long plane journey and the jet lag. My kids would love to see Hobbit town!!!
