Words in 2015

Oh, I do like New Year's Eve.  We stay home and go to bed early, but I've been feeling very kindly toward 2015 and I look forward to saying, "Here we go!" when I wake up tomorrow morning.
I have concluded that I have too many interests and it is often hard to narrow down the choices.  I've decided I LIKE to make things but I LOVE to read and write and draw.  I like to mess around with pens and paper, and computer keyboards!  I like to turn paper pages of fine books and I like to read books on my iPad, too.  So this year, I'm going to focus on words first.
This book is one of my Christmas gifts (thank you for checking my Amazon Wish List, sweet Bill!) It's written by a British preacher in the early 1900's.  SOMEBODY wrote about it on their blog, but now I can't remember who!

This book contains many fun writing exercises. I've had it for almost ten years and I like it.
I'm happy to aim for bookish pursuits this year.  I cleaned off my table/desk and it's still messy but workable.
What are you looking forward to doing in 2015?

I have the same challenge. Narrowing down my list of interests so that I actually get something done. I love to THINK about writing a book, but so far just have some notes. I love to THINK about drawing and painting, but the actual doing seems to elude me. I'm leaning more toward words myself. Reading, writing. Maybe writing a lot of letters to my little brother so we can catch up on each other's lives. And I have so many great books waiting to be read. It's nice to have such things to look forward to! Happy New Year, dear friend! :)

We are sitting at home and will be in bed early this New Year's Eve, too. We are looking forward to 2015 for our son's wedding but we do have some interesting things to go through, too. There's always such a mix of things that happen but with God we can make it through whatever comes our way.

Happy new year PomPom. Will you stay up to watch the fireworks? I'd love to see the Times Square on New Year's Eve.

Happy New Year. Some big changes for me which are out of my control, but I'm looking forward to tackling the challenges that life chucks at me, with crochet hook in hand! Have fun. x

Your worktable looks like a little spot of joy. I like it!

tell us about your 'bookish' pursuits...

what kind of writing exercises do you do? Would love to know!

Oh, and what on earth are those words from so, long ago, about? :)

Wishing you all the best for 2015!

Applauding your narrowing down of your interests... To those which you like. And to those, which you _love_.

Seems this would be a marvelous plan, to begin a new year with, for everyone.

I would like to walk daily, juice daily, triage my Net time, blog _only_ for fun... Little "do's"... None of the I-want-to-stop-this-or-that's.

I feel that we succeed more easily, in adding "do's"... Than in putting "Don't" pressures, on ourselves.

Just me...

Wishing you Health and Happiness in 2015,
Tessa~

i have read loads of books on holiday and had forgotten how much I love to read so that's on the resolutions list! I bought a Susan Branch Calendar - I think I found her through your blog - thanks! I wanted to make my own calendar along these lines but never found time - maybe next year! - she is inspirational! Betty

I'm shocked at myself when I realise that I'm not really looking forward to anything in 2015! Surely I must be looking forward to something? Survival? Good books would be good. I'm going to start following up all the recommendations everyone gives!

Dearest friend, my best wishes for a 2015 filled with peace and joy and laughs. My resolutions this year include writing and drawing and taking walks everyday ( in order to fill my nature journal and take a lot of pictures of my surroundings ). As you I also have so many different interests and I'd love to transform few of them in something similar to a job, just to support a bit my family on the financial side. We will see what this new year will bring us :)

Funny thing...I posted my Wishful Thinking/CanDoIt Plan which like you is hopeful for 'Words'. So love your words and pictures...they are inspiring and thoughtful. Let's share more words this year...I've been remiss in visiting and that's in the plan, too...be a better commenter.

I like your booky pursuits for the new year. I hope you'll share your ideas and good words with us here. You are smart to decide to narrow down your interests to a few. I think I know which things I am most apt to do, but I always like dabbling a little bit in something new. I can't help it.

Happy, JOY-full New Year!

I dearly wish I had a room, a desk and a little quiet haven where i could keep paints out, and pens for doodling. Someday -- when Julia goes off to college. Don't want her to leave, understand, but I look forward to having a spot I can go to, when I have a longing to make something, or esp. to paint something. I like the look of your work area. Enjoy your new books!

I am struggling with the fact that I like to do so many things -- ranging from Writing to Calligraphy to Painting to knitting to sewing....what to do when? And I feel I can never get good at anything because I'm spending too much time doing everything....am praying about this and also trying not to get too worked up about it. :) My mom got me a writing book for Christmas so am hoping to do the exercises.
