Good day to you! In my Susan Branch journal, Days from the Heart of the Home, I found this beautiful Helen Keller quote:
"No pessimist ever discovered the secrets of the stars, or sailed to an uncharted land, or opened a new heaven to the human spirit."
Let's put that in our pipes and smoke it, okay? (I love that saying! I can just see a bunch of old ladies gathered around a beach fire, smoking their corn cob pipes and smiling with their twinkly eyes!) I don't smoke a pipe, by the way! Just saying! (smile)
I thank my Jenny for introducing me to sweet peppers by the bag. YUM! Aren't they gorgeous? I've even been in love with them enough to take the time to make myself a lovely salad for lunch. Yesterday, I was finishing my salad after school and a bunch of kids were in the room for Homework Club. They were fascinated with my salad and the brown egg I ate. They had never seen a brown egg.
Even the peelings are pretty when we make salads.
I leave you with another quote that has to do with your faith AND your intention.
"When a man sets out on a journey to a great city, every step he takes is voluntary; he does not need to say, "I wish to go to the great city, I wish to go to the great city." That first step is an indication of his intention. He journeys without saying it, but he cannot journey without intending it."
~ Molinos
Thank you for popping on by, friends!

Mmmm Salads...good to look at and good for you! I don't smoke a pipe either, but will put that quote up for some thought! Brown egg...do they come from brown chickens...LOL...kids?.
I love the quote by Helen Keller. The second one is so true too.
Yes I love vegetables and I love colors. So thanks for sharing the pics and the quotations:)
Good morning, Pom! Excellent quotes. I really like the Keller quote. A grumpy attitude will squash every bit of creativity and ingenuity a human can have. A grumpy heart cannot write beautiful poetry or give a meaningful kiss.
I'm intending to make split pea soup, but we're all snowed/iced in, and i can't get a hamhock, and I won't make it without one :) Blessings on this chilly day.
the veggies look yummy and fresh. i've got to go dig out my corncob pipe, now. (just kidding!)
I love those bags of peppers too. I have been lost this weeks as I forgot to buy them last week, We go through a bag a week.
Your salad looks yummy.
I love your quotes. I hope you have a lovely Wednesday.
Wonderful quotes and wonderful salad! A nice way to start a winter's day.

Looks like you are eating healthy and beautiful, PomPom.
You always lift me up, even here at the end of the day. I have seen those little pepper; I thought they were hot. I may have to try some. More snow end tomorrow. Maybe you will have a snow day.
never seen a brown egg...oh my! they'd flip over the Aracauna eggs, wouldn't they? I used to smoke cigars...loved them too.
btw, yes, that big old white farmhouse is my house, the home of my heart, here on earth.

I've been eating lots of salads lately myself. Even for breakfast!
hubby made me a big salad to take to work yesterday, it was admired by my colleagues as a work of art! I like your Susan Branch quotes. We buy sweet peppers bagged, they are so versatile, have you tried big ones stuffed with spicy mince? delicious, Betty x
I do love fresh salads - so delicious! Now you have made me hungry so I will need to start dinner right away! Have a good one! Love the Helen Keller quote!
Did you take that picture of a bird at the top? It's lovely!
I like your peppers - are they the Costco ones? I can eat a lot of those if I put a bowl on the dining table!
I was just teasing my husband as I sometimes do, that I wish he would smoke a pipe with a nice tobacco, I love the smell so much, from when my father and grandfather smoked pipes. I have known three Christian women who smoked pipes! But I personally don't need another hobby...
Oh yes, I miss my dear Pom Pom who delights even in the beautiful peelings of her vegies! Me too!!
Blessings, Debbie
