The iris are playing along! Don't you love their green shoots? All of my iris are white.
I am still writing on cards. I found an idea on Pinterest where you use your cards as an art journal. Make art each day. Store cards in a recipe box. Great idea!
This is a day to draw. I'm going to browse through this nice book before I sit at the art table.
Bill's coming home today! Yahoo! Kim over at My Field of Dreams posted photos of her husband's trees. I reminded her that a tree is a poem. Joyce Kilmer says so . . . I think that I shall never see a poem lovely as a tree.
We can all draw and color trees. Let's do it! Two more weeks until EASTER!

It's a typical March day here today -- windy, cold, gray. A cup of tea sounds just right after a wind-whipping through your pajamas!
Enjoy your artsy day.

You have a wonderful artful day! My gang is going skiing and I am going to re-decorate a wall in my living room with some new art. Plus, if I have to move the couch, I really need to get the vacuum out....LOL Kit
Have a lovely time with your pens and paper, I hope you'll show us! The wind is howling down our chimney right now, brrrr!
Yay for Bill coming home! xxx
I was just thinking about an afternoon coffee. Yesterday it was in the 80's and really beautiful, but today is gray and cloudy and about 20 degrees cooler. You know, typical Texas weather. :P I kinda want some chocolate, too.
I love Tasha Tudor! I haven't seen that book though. it should be great inspiration for your art! Sounds like a wonderful day ahead for you.
Our snow was mostly gone and then it snowed on Friday and now it's mostly gone again but we are expecting a big storm on Tuesday. Yes, this is March!! Love your teapot cozy...
After some lovely spring weather, we are having a cool and gray day. BUT, inspired by your last post (at least I think it was your last post) I have started reading a biography of Beatrix Potter, and o, Pom, it is wonderful. Have you read it? It's called Beatrix Potter: A Life in Nature. I'm pretending today that I am in green, green summertime England.
I draw trees all the time.

Love the iris shoots. You are a little ahead of us. So springy, green, and happy!
I love the "scrapbookiness" of Pinterest. Great ideas for school there too. :)
Hi dear,
LOVE the polka dot heels. Love them.
I also love sixth graders. What an age. And yes, I DO HOPE you read my new book with them. Sadly, not out till fall 2014, but maybe that's not too long to wait?
Love,
S
Tea, Tasha Tudor and art journal cards! What a lot of lovely ideas! I feel like drawing tonight...if I can stay awake long enough! I was just thinking the other day about drawing trees. I was looking at the variety of shapes trees have especially in the winter when they're bare.
Hope you had a fun day of art and reading!
Spring certainly is springing. Our iris are beginning to green up. Will you shared your art work? Oh, I do hope so.
I love drawing tree trunks, but get a bit lost higher up! I'm going to send you a tree trunk and you can finish it off. Cold, grey here today! St Patrick hasn't turned the stone again this year. He needs to do that if we're to have nice weather!!
Thank you for coming by, sweet friends!
I did a small amount of drawing yesterday, very small. Bill is home and the week is full already.
Easter's coming! Yay!
You are so funny, thank you for your note about my husband's trees. I have always thought the verse from Joyce Kilmer was profound. I have always loved trees. I hope you got to draw and enjoy your weekend. I hate to admit this but I didn't do a single thing. I slept and read a book. I think wedding stuff just got to me. Your bulbs coming up all look so nice.
I hope you have more spring and after this week Easter Vacation! I am so excited. I need to start a list of fun things to do.
I bet you have a list.

Unfortunately I'm no good at drawing at all!! I love those red polka dot shoes on your background. xx
Pom, the tea cozy is a bright, cheery thing and sure to make drinking tea a pleasurable joy.
Did you know that there's a Joyce Kilmer Forest in North Carolina? The trees are virgin timber and are HUGE! Tulip Poplars that are immense. It's a lovely place.
Oh I love trees too and my son is pationate about them. He created a beautiful treehouse for his final art presentation at college and filled it with paintings of trees.
