Bird in the Wind

Hello, flower people!  Look at the sky!  The wind is blowing hard this morning and there is a nip in the air, but the flowers around me are glorious!
One rose!  We have ONE rose.
The iris and the peonies are partnering.
And my neighbor has a poppy for you.

This cutie was trying to keep his bearings (or is this a her?) in the wind.

I knocked on the fairy door.  She must be sleeping in her nutshell bed. She didn't answer.

I have to rush off to school, but this lazy guy seems to have ALL DAY to lounge upon toadstools.
I wish I could sit on a toadstool and read a book.
At least Joe Scarecrow is still on the job.  He's eye balling the spotty ball, though.  He'd like to give it a kick.  Yes, his brain is always mulling things over.
I am happy to hear that you all are hearing the "woo" of poetry and you will join me in my summer of verse.  The days are ticking away and very soon, I shall be staying home where the French toast smells good in the morning and the scent of cleaning solvents perfumes the air.  Three day weekend for Americans.  Woo hoo!  Have a happy Friday, warm humans.

Fairies and french toast... sounds like a lovely weekend! I'll be spending mine at the coast. Right now it's pouring outside and it's probable it will do that a lot where we are going. Oh well. What's a little water at the ocean!

Blessings, Debbie

Your yard is pretty today. I wish I could lay around on a toadstool all day, or be the fairy sleeping in a walnut shell.
I am glad for the long weekend. I hope you get rested this weekend. I am looking forward to you being on summer vacation so you can think up fun things for me to think about. :)
I have to go back and read your post about poetry.
Have a lovely day, my friend.

Oh I have a (not so) secret wish for a fairy door! I love the pathway to yours (or 'hers', I should say).
Perhaps I should make one...

At least you keep those gnomes doing something constructive -- like reading books on toadstools! Happy Memorial Day weekend! (It looks like rain here!)

It's fun how spring is still springing even though it isn't so much here anymore. And I have never seen such pretty colors in tomato cages but they are so Pom Pom. Love 'em.

Oh look at the alium too- I have bulbs of those somewhere in the garage- I bet it's too late to plant them now! Is it too late to investigate this summer of poetry of yours? Sounds fabulous! Will read on down when chance arises- thanks for prayers- please don't stop yet!!

J just ordered a fairy door and two windows from Plow and Hearth to put at the bottom of a pecan tree in my yard. There's already a face on it. I'll post a photo on my blog when I get it all hung. I wanted to buy a gnome too, but three of them cost $50! I think I'll look at Dollar General next time I'm going by.
