Dancing Summer Fairies and Red Love

Hello! Before I dash off to an early morning meeting at school, I share with you this joyful image of our two oldest grandchildren. Look at that glee! I've posted this before and look at it often. Doesn't it make you want to dance?

I'm finally taking down my Christmas. I left it long this year because I just wasn't ready. I can't get enough red.

I bought another Valentine goody at the grocery store.

One of my Italian friends, Flavia, sent me this tiny angel for Christmas. Isn't she darling? I had a rough day in the classroom yesterday. I've told you about this group before. They are so unmotivated, so wild. It makes me jittery and tired. So today, I'm going to think about the angels in the corners. I'm going to purpose to take the high road because I long ago decided to walk the narrow road.
Thank you so much for stopping by.

Good Morning Pom Pom Sweetie...
What a courageous job you have. It isn't easy working with students, especially when they get older and have formed opinions. I commend you for every day that you walk in there and try to make it a better day for each one of them. Try to teach them the lessons they are there for, and to make them into one day (human beings) we can all love.

I will sending my angels to the other corners of your classroom and see if between the two of us we can allow you a GOOD day.

Many hugs to you sweetie, and SO much love, Sherry

Pom,
Those dancing babies are certain to cure the early morning blahs, aren't they?! Soooo cute!
I just put away our Christmas things on Tuesday -- I think the longest I've ever waited. I've been sick (croupy cough), the weather's been bad (didn't want to troup up and down the icy outside attic stairs), plus I also wanted to enjoy it all a little longer -- the bright sparkly lights and the red ;). The house just seems kind of blah when it's all gone. I looked for more fairy lights at the store yesterday & couldn't find any -- huh? Anyway, I think I'm going to be like Nigella and just leave lights around the house all year -- if I can find some.
And, I so understand the 'difficult' class situation. The last year I taught full time (Jr. English), I had a class that was so wild, & out of control, (and some of them were just downright mean -- think "Mean Girls"), I sometimes had to take 1/2 of an anti-anxiety pill before they came -- not good! Praying for angels around you, my friend!
Hugs,
G

You know PomPom, I have a 16 yr old in the house and this 'attitude' coming from this age group - it's anger - they are angry, wanting to express their feelings, be adults, make decisions but not quite ready, not wanting to be in school but knowing they need to be. If I was a teacher (and I am not suggesting for one minute you do this) I would take them somewhere like a derilict building and let them do graffiti all over it and get that anger expressed and out! I guess the nearest you can get to that is decorating the walls of your class! but I do believe that once they get their feelings out, these young adults are then ready to listen and learn. I imagine you in an aura of calm and tranquility with these huge personalities wanting to be noticed all fighting for your attention whilst pretending the opposite!

Pom Pom, I was really glad to hear that your heating problem was fixed and now I will whisper a prayer for you and your class today. I liked what you said at the end of your post.
God's blessings on you today!

Hello dear Pom Pom. Sorry to hear about your disruptive class - I can imagine that situation is SO draining for you. One with attitude in the home used to be exhausting enough, but a whole class full ..... Love the tiny fairy though, and the dancing summer fairies are delightful. xx

Oh I am too tired to dance- but I can smile rhythmically (even if I can't spell it...) I have classes like that class all day on Friday. But then, when you only teach on Friday, you can't complain- much! But you're right. We should all have dancing joy pinned high and large on our walls- especially school ones! I took two displays down today. One I was pleased with but it had been up too long, then one that I wasn't pleased with and it had been up too long at two minutes in! Next week (no time today; too busy teaching to read and exhorting a parent to book their child a visit to the optician) I'm putting up comic strips based on current vocabulary- asking someone out in French! Oh Pom- you would love some of them. Wittily hilarious- I shall send you a few when it's their turn to come down!

May the Dust of the Dancing Faries cover and protect you from the FallOut of the Foolish Teens! OMGosh...they can be such a Challenge, and as you know, they will remember later the English teacher they had in Jr.High with Respect and Admiration. Hang in there...it's almost SPRING BREAK!!!

I'm coming to you from SuKnitWitty today to invite you to join our Wednesday Knit Group. Yep, WE WANT YOU! Stop by soon and SEE!

Oh honey I'm so sorry you had a hard day. Teaching is the hardest job on the planet. It really is. Luckily we get a brand new day every morning with no mistakes in it as Anne of Green Gables always says. Chin up my love, I'm sure you are doing a brilliant job. Love, love, love x x

Oh yes, glee is right! Your two precious dancing fairies are adorable!

Teaching must be the most challenging (mentally & emotionally) job that there is. I commend you for taking the high road in what I'm sure can be desolate terrain. You are amazing! I too love what you said at the end. The "narrow road". It reminds me of one of my favorite quotes from one of my favorite movies, " the path of a righteous man is as narrow & hard to walk as a razors edge." I've always loved that quote, since I was a teenager ;)

Love to you pommie Pom Pom!!

I love all your red. Am sad about your students. You're a good woman for teaching this age group, which can be wonderful, but oh so challenging. I'll say a prayer for you!
