The snapdragons came back! Isn't that amazing? They held on all winter, survived, and are glorious!
Yes, the squirrels can shimmy up this shepherd's hook. They are so determined to eat the black sunflower seeds. The birds have been enjoying them, too.
I bought two flats of petunias, white and yellow, and then I realized that that is A LOT of planting. With all of these little pots housing one or two petunia plants, I shall have to do a lot of hand watering. We'll see how long this lasts.
I hung new bunting. Look at all the perennials!
And look at the beginnings of my Beekeeper Blanket. It's slow going but fun. Do you like the colors?
The bees like the cornflowers, pincushion flowers and Jupiter's Beard!
For Timothy, these are the lazy hazy days of summer. He is such a cuddle bug and for that I am so thankful.
Jolly has arrived at Angela's! She will blog about it next week so I will pop in and share the link.
Thank you for your kind comments on my last post. I have time to cut out a top and pants today, so maybe I will. Red. The pants are linen like and the top is a very unique print. You know you have to be in the mood to sew, so I hope I am.
We had friends from Austria visit us and they said that they have a hot meal for lunch and then a cold meal for dinner. I think I know what a cold meal would be (bread, cheese, fruit, egg?) but do you have any cold meal ideas?
Maybe the reason I have only sewn bunting is because my sewing, ironing, book, computer room is too full. I'll try to fix it.
Time to take a bath and make the bed. Then, we'll see.
Thank you so much for stopping by! xo

I love petunias, they're so worth the effort to plant. They were hard to find around here this year :-( Your flowers are lovely, so cheerful... and so is your new bunting. Can't wait to see your finished blanket, the colors are pretty. So glad Jolly arrived at Angela's safely. Enjoy your weekend!
Petunias are lovely and they repeat flower so well :) when Mollie arrived she liked scratching things, including my new carpeting so we bought cardboard scratch pads from Petsathome they are about a foot long and - we place them whereever she has a habit of offending and show her and then she politely uses them instead because she never wants to upset anyone :) try some - then your furnishings wont need patching! Timothy looks so happy, he's got a great life. Sorry haven't been over here for while, real life gets in the way at times :) Betty x
Everything is festive and fun. I love the bunting. Nice save on the chair. Lizzie has taken out two slipcovers for the same chair -- fortunately not terribly expensive but nonetheless frustrating. This is a good strategy. Loved all the photos. Life is looking good!
The flowers are gorgeous and the bunting is really attractive! I love how well you have put it up too!
Ahwee, I want to stroke Timmy's tummy!
Cold meals- bread and cold meats? Tuna, mayonnaise and sweet corn with salad? Mackerel with potato salad (Kartoffelsalat?) and salad, Sandwiches?
I have a red gingham blind on my dining room window. I never tire of gingham. I finally invested in a garden hose to water my garden this year. It makes quick work of the task and no more hauling the watering can in and outside and spilling water everywhere in the process!! Your garden is delightful. Can't wait to see your sewing project. Are you able to get the Great British Sewing Bee? My favourite programme at the moment.xxx
I planted a bunch of petunias too, so far they are doing great!
Yes, I like your choice of colors
I always like salads and you can add whatever you want, nuts, meat, fruit, cheese, it is endless.
Great idea about the 'scratch' covers.
Bless you 💕
I like the new bunting a lot!!
Try smearing Vaseline on the shepherd's crook and see if that keeps the squirrels from reaching the feeder.
How pretty are your flowers and your new bunting. The Beekeeper Blanket is going to be lovely.
Another lovely post of colour and calm. Thank you x
Always color and wisdom here, Karen. I leave happy. Your garden is beautiful.
Summer has arrived at your house! its so pretty to see all of the beautiful flowers! Aw Tim is such a funny kitty! So nice to see your house.
Your garden is AMAZING, dear! What a gardener you are! All those blooms. That's a joy. And bunting! So happy :)
A cold meal -- I'd think big individual salads with lots of eggs, cukes, hard boiled eggs, etc. Or a big bowl of cold pasta salad with crustini. Or sub sandwiches and chips.
Love the bunting and the perennials. That's a good alternative to replacing furniture that will inevitably be scratched up, too. Those squirrels are masters at getting to the food they want. Hope you are having a lovely weekend!
I do like your bunting and the flowers are lovely.
How about a nice salad, they always go down well :)
All the best Jan
As blogger and commenting is still not easy, I will post as anonymous.
Lovely bunting and colourful flowers.
Hope you enjoyed the weekend.
All the best Jan

My my, that perennial bed is gorgeous! Do you have to thin a little every fall, or does the cold winter keep the plants from overrunning each other too much?
And your peonies are overcome and nodding with their own loveliness. You and your petunias remind me of me with the zinnias this year. I have invested many hours in planting seeds, buying zinnia starts, planting more seeds, buying more plants. I must now water all the extra plants that are in pots, almost every day. When I go away in July for a few days I'll have to put them all in bowls of water to tide them over...
I just discovered that I already rambled on quite a bit about zinnias in my comment on your last post. Well, I love zinnias that much, and I'm glad you do, too, because you surely will be understanding <3
I always get more seedlings than I plan on. Those six packs are deceptive! The snapdragons are glorious! Looking forward to reading more of Jolly's adventures. Enjoy your sewing!
I was absolutely positive that I previously commented! I'm just 'popping in' to say 'hi, how are ya'. I wonder if Jolly has settled in yet? He's some Postman! xxx
