When You Are Sleepy

Tim the barn cat (a high school friend told me that she calls grey tabby cats barn cats) has been napping a lot.  He seeks a lap all day long.  He follows Bill around and tries to herd him to a chair.

A BIG cake thank you to all of you who responded to my eating question.  I found your answers very interesting!
Here's another question for you:
Have you noticed that when you can't decide what you should do next it's because you are tired?  Do you ever take little naps during the day or pause in your work to rest awhile?  Do you have the freedom to have a little sleep during the day?  Do you ever say to yourself, "Why would I be tired?  It's too early in the day!"  I used to say, "NEVER wake a sleeping baby."  Now I think it would be nice if everyone said, "Never wake a sleeping granny!"  LOL!

I finished a Miss Read book yesterday.  It was the first Thrush Green novel.  VERY good! I found the second one on my library app so now I can read it for free, too.  I think I read the first one on Kindle Unlimited.

I will plant zinnias some time this week.
I've been baking cookies.
I'm reading the book of John because we'll study it all year when Community Bible Study starts up again.
Thank you for popping in to say hello!

To answer your question, yes I agree with you that when I'm tired I don't know what to do next and need a little nap to reenergize, and then I'm good to go.

Your Mother's Day's flowers look beautiful and colorful. Your sleepy barn cat, Tim, is living the good life. One day this week, I stayed in my pajamas all day and declared it a Pyjamas Day, and I didn't get anything done that day but wasted a lot of time and after all, it didn't feel right to me so from now on, no more Pyjamas Day for me. I'll take naps instead. lol...

Stay safe and well.
Hugs, Julia

HI, just saying hi! I have read that book too! Don’t you love being able to read library books on a device! Yesterday was a blah day for me but today is all perky! Have no idea why. Have a great day.

I have never been a napper and if I do fall asleep during the day I feel awful the rest of the day. That does not mean I can't stay in jammies and a robe all day if my body and psyche needs a rest from all the fuss of a day. That's funny that Tim will try to herd you. I have one Miss Read book somewhere around here. Maybe I'll track it down and sit a spell. Found it! Miss Read Thrush Green. John is a great book to study. Well...all the books are good books to study. I really have to rely on some good Bible teachers to understand some of the Old Testament...
Have a lovely Wednesday!

Miss Read is such a calming author, which is what we all seem to need right now.

Tim's looking good -- and so does that cake! (And Lizzie definitely tries to herd me. She looks very much like a border collie or sheep herding dog, with her black and white colors and white tipped tail. Maybe she was one in a previous life!)

If I sleep in the daytime, I'm sick. I can't seem to nap, even when I try.

I don't nap during the day. Once in a while I'll nod off when reading.
I'm pretty energetic and really don't get tired during the day. I credit it to my morning walk.

Bless Timothy - I could look at photos of him all day long. I find (as I get older !!) I need to do the important things that require much energy and/or brain power first thing in the morning. I leave the more mundane things til the afternoon when I am lacking in energy & brain power. I can tell if I need a nap & when I have one I get up & have a cuppa tea & then I slowly start to feel better.

I do like your Mother's Day flowers.
Since retirement … it is so nice to have a nap if I want to :)

All the best Jan

I often take a short nap or two during the afternoon. I try to get my chores done in the morning. I can't believe how tired I get just doing normal every day things that I have done all my life!

I never used to need a nap but nowadays I often need to at least lie down for half an hour. The porch swing is a wonderful place to lie down and gently swing.
I'm reading a Miss Read too....Gossip from Thrush Green.
I'm reading the Gospel of John too but in Low German, my first language I learned. Only in recent years has it become a written language and I'm enjoying reading the familiar stories of Jesus in a new tongue.

I definitely am more "absentminded" when I haven't had a good sleep. I have had three naps, the last two weekends! Weekends aren't really different from the other days for me, it just happened that I didn't sleep well the nights before the nap days.

"Never wake a sleeping Granny" is a maxim that I hope is understood by the people who call me that!

Pom Pom — thanks for stopping by the blog but your comment disappeared! I clicked on the check mark and when I went to reply it was gone and I can’t get it back. Please repost — I want to know what you said!

I do nap sometimes. If my feet feel leaden when I first get up in the morning, I know I'll be taking a nap. Why fight it? I usually nod off while reading.
I think I may have read all of the Miss Read books. I keep hoping a new one will show up unexpectedly!
I've just begun watching a long series on the book of Mark by John Mark Comer of Bridgetown Church in Portand, OR. I'm really loving his teaching. He digs deep! My son just sent me a book by the same young pastor. It's next on my TBR pile.
Have nice naps, Granny!
Love the colorful birthday cake!
Hugs from Minnesota!

I should plant zinnias this year too. I did last year and enjoyed them very much, but forgot this year. Thank you for the reminder!

Napping: I now try to take a nap each day. After lunch sometime, I lie on the couch, turn on a slightly boring but calming show, and doze off for a few minutes. It makes all the difference.

I no longer "push" myself during the day. There are enough house chores to do still, that I do not make myself do other things that I don't enjoy. After the C-19 times are over, I have a few activities I'd like to shed off, now that I've realized I don't miss them at all!

What is it with Tabby cats. Dumperoo has to be in somebody's lap. The minute I sit down he appears at my feet. I planted a pack of Zennia seeds this week. I used to never nap during the day, but lately I look forward to resting for an hour in the afternoon. It sure feels good too.

What a handsome kitty, he looks so relaxed. I love to take a nap during the day, but recently I've not been able to relax and switch off. Maybe as my stress levels reduce I'll be able to snooze during the day again, lol. The flowers look beautiful!

I did leave a comment but it has not appeared. Oh well, you know I always do come by to see what you're up to.

Ahhh, look at that lovely kitty. I don't nap but I do love to sleep in till 10. I have taken to going to bed at 8:30. And I read till about 11. Reading always make me sleepy. Off to watch my baking show. Take care. Kit

When I wasn't working,& was often alone for a week, I would often have a nap after lunch - just 20 minutes or so. But that was because I stayed up later watching DVDs and slept a little later. Now I get tired at 3 pm, but can't really take a nap in lessons!

I do fall asleep in front of the TV - especially if the fire is on too! I will wake up after 15 minutes asking Mr FD what has happened in the programme!

And yes, if I'm really tired, I get confused and don't know what to do. That would be very frequent when I was still having treatment. I would often have to say to myself: don't worry, sit down, have a pause. After about an hour, things would be easier.

Tim looks so comfortable and contented. Cats can teach us lessons, can't they?!

Hello. pomPom. Just nap whenever you want. I am sure God does not keep a spiral bound notebook for the times you are restoring your mind and body. Hugs to you and yours!

I've noticed in Lockdown that I often benefit from sitting down and having a little cup of tea, and then I usually know what to do. I mostly do just what I feel like doing, and then, because I've done SOMETHING, I can maybe do something else. And now and again I do let myself have a little snooze. It's been a very Winnie the Pooh existence, hasn't it? I must say, I have been going through more honey than usual!

Sweet Timothy. I think he's much nobler than a barn cat :) Yes, I nap nearly every day, and when my brain feels fuzzy (basically after lunch) I stop trying to be very productive.
