Have carrots always grown in various colors? I do love how pretty they are AND I love the multi-colored potatoes.
I finished a cowl. I used all soft wool (sheep and alpaca and a little cashmere). It was so fun to knit, the yarn so soft and gliding through my fingers.
I gave it to my mom and she likes how warm and cozy it is. Speaking of my mom, this is a photo of her new kitchen. She is in the process of moving. The packers came today and tomorrow the furniture and boxes will be moved into her new house. It's a very pretty cottage with a secret garden sort of backyard. She's really excited about living there. I spent a few days up in Washington trying to help. All of my siblings and their spouses will help. Moving is such a big job.
I have the January flower itch. I'm sure you do, too. Unless you live in the southern hemisphere, and then you are enjoying summer's blooms. How lovely!
I have a lot to do to catch up after being away. I must get Postie Postman ready for his journey. That will be fun! Soon!
I have a new laptop so no more computer glitches. I'm ever so thankful!
How is your January going? I hope you're feeling creative and inspired. If so, please tell me about it.
Thank you for coming by! xo

Hey, Karen, I've never tried multi-colored carrots before. I should! Maybe I'll grab some next time I see them. Same with potatoes. I'm so boring. Your mom's kitchen looks lovely. And to have a little secret garden area of her own, how nice! I have not gotten the itch for flowers yet. We've had such a roller coaster winter. Temps have been all over the place, but mainly warmish. Hope you have a good rest of the week!
May your mum's new home be blessed - and full of God's peace, joy and love
Aren't those colours of the carrots pretty. Who would've thought they come in an assortment of colours other than orange. Such a pretty cowl; the wool looks lovely and soft. Ooh....a secret garden for your mum, how lovely that sounds. I too have the flower itch when in the deep of winter. Fortunately, at the moment I have my little garden gifting me with pretty blooms. =)
Those carrots are known here as Heritage carrots as some of them are very old varieties. I guess they all taste much the same though!
What a great kitchen!!! ❤😊
Your mom's new kitchen looks bright and cheery. I love a white kitchen.
It's been snowy and cold here the last few days but so pretty. I'm one of those people who actually enjoy winter!!
I love colourful carrots though they do tend to need a little more cooking. Very tasty too. I love your Mama's new kitchen and hope she'll be very happy in her swanky new home. xxx
Your mom looks very pleased with her new kitchen.. I hope she'll settle in and enjoy this new home.
I have the flower itch too. Often by this time grocery stores are selling pretty Primroses and pots of bulbs ready to bloom. Guess it's been too cold to risk putting them out there. But soon...
Your Mom's kitchen is so pretty. I love your flowers and your knitting always looks so cozy. I am glad you have got your new computer up and running so fast.
Your mum looks happy! her kitchen is a great blank canvass for bright colours or whatever she fancies and can be changed around if she gets bored, it has plenty of storage. I think carrots originally were purple and we cultivated them to the orange we know today. We just got a juicer and with a couple of blocks of frozen ginger thrown in with a few carrots we enjoy a delicious drink (discovered on the breakfast buffet in India and now a regular at home!).
Your mom looks happy in her new space. How nice that you could travel and help her in this move. Hope all goes well with the rest of the move. Yippee for a new laptop! Having the pastor and wife over for dinner tomorrow night so I'm trying to come up with a creative table setting. Happy January to you and I'm glad you keep feeling cozy.
Pretty knitting, Pom Pom! Your mom looks happy to be in her "new digs." That's so nice. I'm wishing for flowers too. I'm thinking of grabbing a bunch at the grocery store next time. God bless you!
I've moved so many times in the last 4 years or so. I've liked each of my cozy little homes and I hope your mom does too! :)
I'm liking my new laptop, too. It's hard learning a new gadget, but things are smoothing out.
Colorful carrots!
Looking forward to the Postman! :)
Your Mum's kitchen is lovely dear Pom Pom. Yes we have pretty flowers here at present - they require lots of watering & care as its now so dry here. I am thinking of knitting a cowl myself when winter comes. Have a lovely week my friend xx
Pom, your mom looks so sweet and cheerful! I do hope her move goes smoothly and she is very happy in her new digs. I rather wish my mother would move somewhere smaller. She has a 120 year old farmhouse on a high windy hill in WVa. She loves it, but I don't think it's really conducive to living at her age. We will see. She is happy there. That's what counts.
I'm taking up a poetry challenge from a writing/blogging friend -- to write a poem each day for a month this winter. I'm liking it! It's freeing to just write, for only me, and not care if it is "great writing" or polished. Just simple poems.
Your cowl looks really nice, soft, beautiful colors. You are a good daughter! I hope the week is good.
That yarn is great! And I love colorful food! I don't know if they breed these now new or not, but I don't care -- I love 'em!
