Full House Happy House

Hello October lover!  Doesn't everyone love October? It did snow here yesterday so now the zinnias and nasturtiums are dead. Sad.  I bought two cheap quilts for the kitchen slider, because I am anticipating winter.

Wouldn't you like to spend the winter in the cabin below?  It belongs to the parents of one of our friends and sits on a large property they own.  The man who uses this cabin made that cute chair and table.  I love to view and review this lovely little photo.

I noticed that a few years ago, I took a photo of my Beatrix stuff.  It must be October that makes me think of her.  I took another photo this year!

Christie made a delicious pesto pizza and it was SO very tasty.  I broke my cheese rule and I'm not sorry.  YUM!
I've been drawing little ladies again.  Which outfit do you like?

Bill was in Taiwan for a week and Mr. Needy spent the week by my side, on my lap, trapping me in bed, so I couldn't turn over . . .
He's happy that Bill's home now!  Me, too!

I've been watching artists on Youtube (as you do - lol) and I am fascinated by their supplies.  I didn't know about alcohol markers but I found these at Tuesday Morning.  They make very nice marks.

These lovely ones (and James) were here this weekend.  We enjoyed their company VERY MUCH.  Having a houseful of kids is the best, best, best!  Watching junky tv and eating chips can't be beat either.

I'm looking forward to my brother and his wife coming to see us in a few weeks.  Also, our baby is going to be (gulp!) 30 years old at the end of the month.  We've already planned our Thanksgiving gathering and we always do Chinese food for Christmas Eve.  Breakfast on Christmas morning? Probably.   It's nice being an old lady and NOT having to do a lot of hustle and bustle for the holidays.  I can simply do what sounds fun to me.  Perfect.
Thank you for popping by, Sweetie Pie.

I like the blue dress outfit... I love your little lady drawings! I've not heard of alcohol markers... how are they different from regular markers?

Oh dear lady, I love your posts and the outfit second from the left. Such fun with your family and life. We changed it up this year for Christmas and will not exchange gifts. We decided we all have enough stuff. We just need each other. :) Happy October! Kit

It's nice to be a really old lady and NOT have to do anything you don't want to do. Although I find I do want to do many things but it's nice not to feel obligated.
Your baby is turning 30 and mine is turning 41 this Wednesday!!

How nice and happy! I just love seeing what has been going on at your house. Busy as ever. How nice to have all of your grands around you. I think that is a wonderful idea, I would love to do what sounds fun to me.
Have a lovely evening, I can't believe you had snow already. I love that quilt by the way.

My dear I feel like gushing. I love your home, your drawings, the beautiful quilted things, the mug, the pillows, your beloved grandkids, the chips, the pizza, everything B Potter and am reminded of your comment to me about teapots and the need for them. :) I love the art supplies and that you do so many things that are cozy and share them with others! God bless you! and your family!!! (ps: my sister is the baby and she will be 38 and I, the oldest, will be 42 before this year is done, DV! hard to believe... my Mom is taking it all in stride :) )

That's a sweet little cabin for sure. I have long wanted to be SNOWED IN, in the mountains, in a cabin, with everything I (we) need for a couple of weeks, just to truly rest and have NO pressure to go anywhere (because I can't, of course), and find tranquility. Maybe it's because I grew up with no snow, but snow seems so magical to me.

I LOVE the little ladies you draw - they are so good! Of those four, my favorite outfit is the only the far right -- kinda hippie and very fun, but I'd never have the courage to wear it. So the one I'd actually enjoy wearing is the one with the pink jacket. Have you ever drawn your ladies on hard cardstock (or something like that), and then drawn clothes to put on them with little folding tabs at the shoulders and waist, like we played with years ago and cut out from magazines? I adored that. You would be SO good at that. I bet your little grandgirls would love it.

Well, I used to love October but it seems that it has decided to rain all month and no, we don't need it and it is making me grumpy.

Your home is a happy home for sure and it's great that you encourage that. I've never heard of alcohol markers, either. Hmmm. We are going to fast forward Thanksgiving to tomorrow since we are all together this week in Colville for hunting season. It will be the first nice full house at our new location! Happy mid October to you!

As always, the sweetest post ever!! Oh, I could absolutely live in that little cabin. I love when you draw little ladies. My favorite is the one on the far right with the blue dress. Dumperoo traps me in bed too. Sometimes I wake up thinking, why am I so hot!! Then realize it's Dumper on top of the cover, pinning me to the bed and feels like a little heater. :)

Oh my goodness, what a warm and comfy post. It makes me want to pop in and visit you in your cozy home. Every thing about your home looks welcoming from the comfy furniture, the great food and your marvelous collection of books. I love Potter books . . . the words as well as the splendid art work. Oh, I almost forgot your sweet little ladies . . . please sew me up a copy of number 4 . . . so cute!
Have a great day filled with laughter and good health.
Connie :)

Delicious post. I love all the pics with the children and I love your yarn storage in the corner there! My favourite lady is the one with the blue dress. I was taking a train trip the other day and we were sitting opposite a lovely couple from Wisconsin who told us they had already had snow! They were surprised at how mild Scotland was at this time of year!Happy rest of October to you.xx

My fave of the outfits is #3. The swirly dress with the heart. :)
I love the quilts on the sliders. Cozy!
Love that cabin, too! I still may have to have one of those. ;)
Grandkids are the best! I went to Grandparents' Day today at Audrey and Hazel's school. It was fun!

What a fun posting, especially with those adorable drawings with the outfits, you are certainly creative.
I love the third one with the pink dress, of course the heart is what made it perfect. :)
I just finished putting away the rest of the summer lawn furniture, always a sad thing to do.
I left some out before I went to Arizona hoping to be able to use it a while longer, but with the snow I figured I just as well put it away.
The holidays will be here before we know it.
My mother received an invitation in the mail the other day for a holiday party at her friends home, I was shocked, but it's coming soon enough.

Take care~

No hustle and bustle for Christmas sounds perfectly wonderful to me. LOVE the quilt, and the little number with the blue dress accessorised with the yellow and black polka dotted cardie wins my vote. I wouldn't mind sitting on that gorgeous porch for a while....yes indeedy I wouldn't mind one bit.

Lovely post dear Pom Pom. I love all your drawn ladies & love all their outfits. Not sure they would suit me but I love them! Hello to Timothy ... yes a hustle & bustle free Christmas sounds about perfect but probably a dream only for me!

I love your newsy posts - your drawings are so sweet, I would wear the yellow spot cardi outfit. Your home looks so cosy and full of love and there is always so much going on. Your Chinese meal for Christmas sounds interesting... It's my turn to work Christmas and New Years days this year but I don't mind, our little family will have a meal together on the Christmas Eve instead. It would be wonderful if it snowed - I'm hopeful. Have a lovely week ahead with your family visitors. Betty x

Hello there! It's always a lovely treat to see what you have to say and show here. I love your lady drawings and my favorite outfit is the pink dress with the heart on it! Looking at that delicious pizza, I can see why you broke your cheese rule. I would have done the same. Your sweet little house guests are blessed to have you in their lives. "Mr. Needy" is too! Have a happy weekend!

I agree about being an old lady and not having to do hoopla I don't want to do re decorating, cooking, etc. for the holidays. Time to slow down a bit and do the fun things like going to see the Nutcracker Ballet.

Love the little ladies you are drawing. I love them all and cannot pick a favorite. You make me want to draw! I am keeping a bullet journal these days, perhaps I can sneak in some doodles! :D
