Almost May

Aria's birthday is today!  8!  She visited a week ago and we went to the American Girl store.  It was fun. I think it is so sweet that several grannies work there and they are very helpful.
We later dashed to the airport to pick up Great Grandma!  Aria and Atticus know their way around the airport.  They moved so fast that the camera couldn't focus!
Jenny's camping adventures are fun for me via photos!  A pelican!  I didn't know we have pelicans in Colorado.  (Jody, maybe I need to have A Big Year!)  A big year is when you try to find and record as many birds as possible. Jody from Gumbo Lily told me about it and I watched the movie she suggested.  It's good! (The Big Year)

One morning I got up early and lit the beeswax candles I bought from the nuns in Boston.  (The Holy Nativity Convent - remember when Susan Branch visited because the nuns are BIG fans of SB?)

Christie made Great Grandma's favorite dessert.  YUMMY!
We went to the Good Feet store and my mom bought new shoes.  She had to try them out at JoAnn's.  I went to the restroom and then I had to walk around quite a bit before I found her.  She's spry.
She was able to see all of her Colorado family while she was here AND the blossoms remained intact to decorate her visit.

Timothy found my mom quite interesting. He even sat on her lap one day.  He's been burrowing under quilts lately because the house still has the remains of winter chill.
When I was a Blue Bird (Camp Fire Girls) we learned a song that had a line in it that makes me feel a little (not a lot) guilty.  The line is, "to learn to finish what I begin".  Yeah, I don't do that.  I started yet another knitting project.  It's a cotton bag.

I'm kind of draggy today.  I was going to plant seeds but I don't feel like getting dirty.  My reluctance to get dirty affects my gardening productivity.  Back to knitting . . . .

Happy spring to you (or fall if you are down under).  Thank you for always coming by and saying such lovely things.  I really love that.

A Quick Visit

Even though it snowed today, the blossoms have been so pretty.  I hope the lilacs last for weeks.
This fat goose was sitting in the grass by the bank.  I think he is sunbathing.
I found a good place in the USA to buy this Norwegian wool - The Woolly Thistle!
The yarn fest was SO much fun.  I was a little overwhelmed by all the wool and only bought a little.  Aren't the mittens and cuffs below cozy?

For Kim and Julia - tiny hooked rugs.

(I did not buy all the pictured yarn!  Sheesh!  I just thought you might like to see the colors!)
We've had some 70 degree days so the girls have been swimming in their new pool.  Kelli was handing something to Millie and fell in.
We went downtown to Birdie and Miss Bug's choir concert today.  Aw!

I have been busy getting ready to welcome my mama TOMORROW!  Yippee!
She's going to see fifteen great grands while she is here.

I am so thankful that our kids live close.  Tomorrow Brad and April are coming down for a baseball game (Rockies) and CB and Finn are joining them, but Aria and Atticus are staying with me.  Bill is going to a play with Kelli and the girls, but by the time I get back from the airport with GGJo (that's what we call great grandma Bear) Brad's family will be here.  From that point on it's visit, visit, visit.  Yay!
I hope to find lots of time to drink coffee and talk, too (just us).
Today we are finally home and cozy inside.
James is turning FOUR in a few weeks and Aria turns 8 on the 30th so we're going to the American Girl Store when she's here tomorrow.
Thank you for coming by and checking on me.  I'm hungry and sleepy, so I'm a bit brain dead.  I'll be back with spring-y photos soon.
(BIG HUG!)

Busy with Wool

I've been burying myself in wool.  I move from project to project.  I've been sewing, too.  I WILL model my makes for you very soon!

It is the beginning of a full week with fun get togethers with friends AND the wool festival in Loveland, Colorado.  I'm meeting April (daughter in law) there and I can't wait.
We've had kids and grandkids in and out - that is our very fun "normal".
My sweet mama is coming to visit in a few weeks!  Woo hoo!
I hope you are well.
Thank you for stopping in!
