Summer Fun and Flowers

Hello!  I don't know if you read my last post but I wrote it just after hearing of MORE violence.  I am so sick of reading about crazy thinking and crazy acts.  Aren't you?
The news is more of the same, more of the same.  However, the peonies have been kind and respectful.  😄😄😄

The sweet peas are blooming.  I finally planted them soon enough.  I am so happy that we don't have that many weeds.

Here's Tim but do you see the treadmill (with the kitchen rugs hanging on it)?  We have a friend who wants it so it is going away this weekend.  YAY!  I'm going to move a table and chairs there and then we'll move the huge island from the kitchen to the living room (it's going to be my art table) and THEN we're expecting a smaller little Crate and Barrel island next week.  I finally agree that our kitchen is too crowded so I'll take photos when everything is in its proper place.

I've mixed my anniversary roses with peonies.
We have "pinks" in the garden.  Have you ever smelled one? They smell fantastic.

You are welcome to come over for a swim.

Sam wanted Bill to teach her to play her Little Mermaid guitar in the morning and then she wanted me to teach her to knit in the afternoon.  The needles are BIG in this little kit but knitting is hard for little hands.  Finally I placed my hands over her hands and we went through the motions.
 Poolside 😎😎😎
Mr. Handsome.  He gets so many kisses from Bill and I.  How would you like getting kisses simply because you are cute, cuddly, smell delicious and well, because you exist?

We're going to watch Birdie, Bug, and Millie Rose in their vacation Bible school program later this afternoon.  Cute.
Take care, sweet visitor.  Thank you for coming by.

Hello Pom Pom, everything is so summery & beautiful in your post today as I fill the fire up with wood to keep warm here!! Your peonies are amazing, we cannot grow them here for some reason although I have tried. Hello to Timothy, yes I have two here that get told how beautiful & wonderful they are for no reason whatsoever & they gently push their little heads into my hands when I reach out to pat them. Happy weekend to you my friend xxx

The news is so depressing these days. Luckily your garden and family are there to brighten your day, just when you need it.

Oh yes, the depressing news. It can get to me after a while. Such foolishness going on.

I agree, everything looks so summery at your place, summery and colorful... Timothy must know he's loved. I think he 's quite regal.

I love the no weeds or grass in the flowerbed. Then you can enjoy the flowers in the flowerbed and grass on the lawn.

Have a spectacular weekend.
Smiles & hugs, Julia

Yes, the news is depressing. We don't have television so never watch it.

I learned how to knit when I was a little kid on a rainy day down the Jersey shore.

Wish I could say the same about weeds here. So many weeds, I feel like I'm ALWAYS weeding. I even tried some of that Preen but it didn't work!!

Good planting and it all should fill in nicely.

Your flowers are so pretty.

Kitty sure is loved in your house. Looking forward to see your new furniture.

Have a great weekend.

Hugs,

You are doing the right thing to enjoy the beauty of your garden, your family and sweet Tim at this unsettling time. I, too, look for the beauty around me and there is a lot to find. Love, love, love the photo of Timothy and the flower. xo

No pool time here yet but maybe soon. I love sweet peas, why haven't I planted any? Have a wonderful weekend.

I love the spicy scent of Pinks. I'm trying again to have them in my garden. They don't survive the winters ( maybe because of all the rain?)

Yes, I am so tired of crazy people doing mean crazy things. Your flowers are pretty, and that Timothy is adorable.

Terrible things happening in the UK and people turning on the establishment in anger. It is a dark time here. Sitting in my garden this morning with a bee that will not stop flying in front of my face and looking at me seems silly but is welcome distraction.

What a sweet kittie! Reminds me of Mr. Burps featured on my post this morning. It's great that you teach your grand daughter to knit. Knitting is hard for small hands, I'm sure. Love the pool and the flowers. Have a blessed weekend.

I've mostly taken a break from "news." I get the small dose I need to be informed and then go about my life. I give it to Jesus. What else can we do? I enjoy visiting your blog because you give us a dose of real love-living and that's what the world needs now.
Love your posies and summer backyard. I remember my Gram teaching me to knit. But I've mostly forgotten how now. Glad your littles want Gramps and Granny to teach them new things. It's fun!

News in the USA and UK is distressing this month. Even appreciating the small things in life like our gardens seems to be spoiled by the news of global warming, pollution and growing piles of waste too. Your posts always bring a little cheer. Betty x

Yes, the news has been incredibly sad lately. But we will all just keep on loving each other through it. Lovely post, as always dear PP. I want to jump into your pool. Can I?😁 Xxx

Love all the homey news. I am interested to see the changes in your kitchen. I love to tweak my living space so that it really, truly suits how we live in our home. I love to hear that you are doing that, and can't wait to see what emerges from your art table!

Enjoy the Bible School program!

Your back yard is so inviting! Nice seating areas for visiting. A pool for dipping in. So green and flowery. The world would be a better place if all of those violent folk would just wake up to all of the beauty and goodness in God's world.
I love those huge knitting needles. They make for a quick project! Nice for us impatient people.
I'm excited to see where you put your art table. Also, your new island! Have fun rearranging and creating!

Your days are filled with family, love and fun whimsicalities which is wonderful to take one's mind off the problems of the world. I am looking forward to seeing your kitchen. Oooh....a new art table...sounds fun. Those knitting needles are cute and I love the colours of the wool.

I much prefer the kindness found in blogland to the hatred happening far too often around the world.
Your flowers look so pretty. I have smelled pinks and do enjoy their sweet spicy scent.
Your granddaughter is lucky to have grandparents who take the time to teach her things.

I love pinks and peonies! And your grandchildren must love to be at your place in the summertime, as always.
