Brrrrrrrrrr

I hate to whine, but it is cold.  I was not cold in December, but last January I ordered a little space heater that looked like a red stove.  The plug melted because I think it sucked out way too much electricity.  I had to return it and now I want some such thing again because our house is cold in January.  My theory is that our house retains the summer and fall sunshine for a while and then when January arrives it is spent, no more sunshine reserves.  Right now my hands are freezing.  It makes one want to crawl back into bed.
My sewing machine is on the fritz.  I cannot finish my Dottie Angel dress because I have not yet bought a new machine (mine is 40 years old).  I want a Viking and they are expensive.  Of course I can think of many things I NEED to sew right now.  Reality is that I don't usually dream of sewing with such longing.  We'll see what happens.
Here is cute Sunshine looking very bright two summers ago.  Winter is going to last a while.
I am going to go upstairs to my study now and shift books around, write in my journal, and maybe iron.  I have to get my hands warm.
I hope you are staying warm and snug!

Brrr...I hope you find a good way to stay warm. I surprised myself today and did some ironing!! I have to admit that I've never dreamed of sewing... My mother spoiled me and sewed for me and I never really became good at it...
Have a good week!

Cold here, too! I've learned to wear lots of layers around home, and at work this time of year! Flannel and long johns are some of my favorite things. I hope you find a nice, warm, safe heater! :)

I hope you find a way to stay warm. I think we were spoiled by the nice December weather and the January cold seems just that much colder! I have a pin cushion just like yours... it was my grandmother's. I can't decide if it's an apple or a tomato. Keep warm!

I have that same little red tomato pin cushion and had it for about 50 years. My pins and needles are not all in neatly like yours though.

You must have had a faulty connection to have melted that plug. Better knit some more sweaters and mittens to keep warm. Hope you fin a safe heater to warm you up.

Sorry about that sewing machine giving up on you like that.
Hope you can get warmed up.
Hugs,
JB

So sorry that you are cold. I find if I wear a scarf around my neck, I am not so cold and I usually wear vest too. Get some gloves that should help with your hands. Can you take your sewing machine and get it fixed?
Wishing you a warm rest of January.

I'm cold, too! I wear silk long johns, which feel good and help, and I sometimes wear a hat, but I want the air to be warm, not just my skin. I hope you get a new space heater.

See if you can find a used machine. My Bernina is 20 years old and in great shape. Germans make beautiful machines!

I am at this moment wearing THREE pairs of socks. If my feet are cold my whole self is cold. I do hope you find an effective and safe heater very soon.

I am sorry you are so cold! I hate being cold! Think warm thoughts and drink some hot cocoa -- that should help!

Hello there Pom Pom ... so sorry you are freezing over there ... we are rather warm here, stifling in fact & everything is turning brown rather fast. I am envious that you have a Dottie Angel Dress pattern as it is not yet available over here ... but I live in hope. Do hope you get some warmer weather soon ... I shall try to send some in your direction x x x

hope you get cosy soon - I have a little oil filled electric radiator which is really handy for cold spots - I don't know how we would manage without it. It has turned very cold here this morning, I am poorly so feeling it more than ever.

How about thermal gloves to keep your poor hands warm?

Yes it is very cold. I have a tiny space heater in my craft area to keep my feet warm. Is there more snow coming? I think so. Stay warm.

It is cold!!! I know just how you feel, except I bet it is a tad colder at your house. We have cold, wet, fog. Everything is wet and dismal.
I always want to sew when I can't. I hope you get to sew soon. I hope your hands warm up.
Nothing worse than when your hands are cold. Or feet.
I hope your day gets lots warmer. :)

Today it is cold here and I am loving it, but then I don't have to deal with cold weather for long. Do you have some fingerless mitts you could wear? I find when my hands are cold that they help.

It is very cold!!!! I wore a stupidly cold coat today and forgot a scarf so I was deliriously happy to discover I'd left my black cashmere scarf at school!! I pounced on it with way too much enthusiasm in front of my class!!!! I have a little heater like that and it is wonderful!!! Get one!!! Sunshine and Miss Pincushion are beautiful!

My Mum just gave away her old Viking in her recent house move. It weighed a ton but it was a great machine. Could you get one second-hand anywhere? I hope you warm up soon. It's set to be minus 2 here tonight. Heaters at the ready!!!

It is a sad time when you have to resort to IRONING to get warm. LOL

Ironing is about the last chore on my list. I hate it, but I don admit it works VERY well for getting your hands warm. Great in January ......not so great when it is August in Florida! LOL

The thing about Texas is I am freezing one minute (or one day) and the next I'm too warm. We ran the a/c on Christmas Day. Last year, I think, or it might have been the year before, I bought an electric lap throw I keep in my sitting spot. It is wonderful and I highly recommend such a thing.

It's not warm here though it has been a lot worse in January in previous years. My sewing machine is about 40 years old but hasn't been used an awful lot. I hope it doesn't give up!

Sorry about your cold hands! Our house is quite drafty too. We have several of those oil heaters that plug into the wall and and quite safe. I hope you find a good heater soon. Sorry about your sewing machine too -- I do hope you find something. It's hard to be unable to repair things!
