The Library, the Lilacs, and Mr. Badger!

News Flash:  Mr. Badger has left Ireland and arrived in England.  Here are the links and I highly recommend clicking over because the hostesses (Mags and Betty) are playing along beautifully! Mags' blog  Betty's blog

We went to the library today.  Samantha bounced up and down with joy because she now has her own library card!  Sister Plum liked the children's area very much!

 And then to the park!
I don't mean to bore you with MORE lilacs, but I can't resist them!  They are really lasting a long time this spring.

One year my pansies thrived all summer long.  I'm hoping they will again!
I don't remember planting this bulb so I am thrilled that it is about to pop!
I guess I was in love with lilacs last year, too!

The library looks like a very fun place for the kids. Love, love lilacs. So very pretty and fragrant. I can't wait for my poor Lady Kim Lilac to bloom. Some branches got broken in hurricane Arthur and some got broken in heavy snow storm this past winter.

Take care.
Hugs,
JB

Gotta capture those lilacs while you can!
Your library pics reminded me of our old library which had a little reading loft for the kids. It was reached by climbing a ladder, which probably would be considered unsafe these days, but they loved it!
Love the John Muir quote!

You started with cutie and ended with beauty----all the way around! Those kids are just darling and I am so jealous that you have flowers going on! xo Diana

I love lilacs too. Ours are about done now but there are always other shrubs and flowers to make the heart glad. And grandchildren!! They REALLY make the heart happy.

The new garden has no lilac. you remind me of how much I loved that scent before! You also remind me that we have overdue library books, again...

The glorious library! I remember hauling an egg crate of books home every week or two for my kiddos. We did love those library days.

I'm in love with your lilacs too. I wish I could smell them through the screen. Our's haven't started blooming yet.

Happy May!

Your lilacs are not boring, exactly, Pom Pom, but they are frustrating!! What, a lilac with no scent?? I don't even know of one in my neighborhood that I might go sniff right now. But I'm very glad for you and I wouldn't want you to stop putting up pictures of lilacs because I do remember they are lovely to smell....

Aren't the childrens' sections in libraries just divine? We love going to the library here too. We're big on John Muir over here too, for obvious reasons and his birthplace is not far from where I live. A very interesting man, he was. My lilac tree is just about to burst into bloom but I never bring them into the house - my Mother always says it's bad luck to do so - Mother knows best! Hope you have a lovely relaxing weekend, Pom. xxx

I almost missed this lovely post. I love the flowers and the surprises that you find in gardening.
I love your trip to the library. What a nice place! You would cringe if I ever posted pictures of our library. It is rather spartan.
I hope you my friend are having a lovely day.

Happy spring in full swing PomPom. The lilacs are bursting with beauty. I can imagine they smell divine too. I would love to grow some here in our garden but I can't seem to find them in any nursery.
The girls are so adorable.
Have a good week

Pom, i wish you could share the fragrance of the lilacs as well! Oh, how I do miss them! Hooray for first library cards. I read something recently wondering whether libraries will survive. I hope so. Children need the wonder of unlimited adventures in unlimited books :) And the baby's little red shoes are SO cute!!
