A Spring Stroll and a Book Browse

I wish you could hear the birds singing here. I decided to take more scenic strolls instead of quick loops on the nearest sidewalks.

The weather is just cool enough for a light cardigan.

I picked a small sprig of lilac because soon it'll all be gone.  Sad.

Before I took the delicious walk I was at my old school reading with just one student today.  I stopped at the book store to buy my two regular readers new reads and I indulged in a little knitting book browsing.  FUN!

Someone put the Shaker Furniture Projects title in the wrong place. Funny.
I think going to the book store is something I am going to do a bit more often.  It was so relaxing and enjoyable!

When I go to school everyone I talk to asks me how I'm doing with all the grandchildren.  Smile.  I like telling them that it's wonderful, but honestly, I don't see grandchildren every day.  Some days I do no more than write in my journal, read my bible, drink a lot of tea, iron a blouse or two, pull ten weeds (ha!) or read.  I talk to Bill. I cook dinner. I sleep for eight hours almost every night. I knit - all very commonplace and absolutely delightful.  I'm so thankful!
Some of our grands are on a vacation and I am thinking about them a lot.  Missing them.

If I had to choose a vacation locale right now, I would choose this - Guemes Island in Washington State.  My favorite island!  Click on the link.  Maybe you'd like to visit it, too!
In a bit over a week my mom is coming to visit!  Aren't you excited?  I am!  I hope the sun shines so she doesn't get chilled.  We'll be together for Mother's Day!  Yay!  What a treat!

I am going to make taco salad and corn bread for dinner tonight, but first I'm going to pull a weed or two.  Thank you for clicking in today!  I appreciate it.

Your world is so pretty right now. All that green and beautiful blossoms. Everything is brown, the river level is still high but receded a wee bit, and it's cold windy and raining and raining and raining.

You get 8 hours of sleep every night and the most I get is 6. I do need a nap once in a while.

Love your knitting library. Enjoy your mom's visit.
Hugs,
JB

can't believe how bright and green everything is. We are a ways behind. I agree that slipper book sounds like a good one to own.

I am like you- People think I spend every moment with the grands- but I don't. I have lots of ME time, too.

Your photos are just gorgeous. What kind of camera do you have? You take beautiful pictures. xo Diana

Way back I did look into Gueme Island for a family getaway but never followed through. I might need to re-visit that idea...
Love the blooms on your stroll. How wonderful that your mom will be with you on Mother's day!

I'm so happy for you that your mom will be with you for Mother's Day. Awesome. That purple and white Columbine is so lovely. A lot of mine have crossed and recrossed so many times they have small blooms, mostly plain navy or pink. I think I need some new kinds. More trips to the nursery! Yay!

Hi PomPom. Aren't we glad that spring is here? We even like the rain. Your days sound a bit like mine, going from this to that, relaxed. Glad to be free from work. Returning to help out, now papers to grades, no plans to make, just to help a student out. Corn bread sounds yummy.

Hi, sweet Pom! Look at that green green grass! Spring has truly sprung at last. We have sweater weather here too. Still rather cool, but very nice. And not many bugs yet. Glad your mama is coming. I meant to tell you -- my daughter is going on a missions trip this summer to the Lummi Nation in Wash. State, maybe in your old stomping grounds. She's VERY excited to go.

I always enjoy your ponderings, to quote Forrest Gunmp "you never know what you're going to get".
Love your flowers and the glimpse inside the book store, I could spend time browsing in there regularly too.

A beautiful walk! Book stores are a favorite hangout for me, too, but I don't get there often. The Amazon website is where I actually end up going, lol. Here's to quiet days at home. :)

Hey, Pom, I've seen you commenting on other blogs, but I'm not sure I've ever visited yours. Lovely place you have here! Your pics are wonderful! I have grands I don't visit with a lot, but I always enjoy my time with them. Still raising my last 2 kids!

Take care and have a lovely day!
