Dino Boy

Here's tricky James providing more laughs for you!  Isn't he funny?
I didn't do my Pause in Lent post this weekend because I had some sort of flu bug (how many flu bugs ARE there?) and stayed on the sofa pretty much all day for two days. James and Jeff had already had the bug (Bill, too).
I rolled all the bright yarn into balls and picked up the striped sweater again.
I must organize my office ("office" is a stretch because no real office work happens in my little red and black checked room with dancing bear trim).

For my lady book club we're reading My Name is Asher Lev by Chaim Potok and for our family book club this:
It's such a good book, so nurturing and revealing.
Jenny and the girls came over to go to the "fresh fruits and vegetables store" (that's what Sam calls SPROUTS) and then we went to a fancy workforce lunch place.  We were the only family-ish customers there.  We both felt relieved that we don't have to get dressed up and go to work anymore.  All the young hipsters looked cute and I'm glad they are enjoying healthy dishes on their lunch break.  I'm glad I'm not very hip.  It looks like a lot of work.  Lazy old Pom Pom.
I think I'm getting the next phase of this nasty bug, sore throat.  Boo!
The weather is GORGEOUS!  We made dirt soup again and we organized the doll dishes.  We watered the baby weeds.  The birds are singing!
Thank you for calling in.  You're very considerate to do so.

I'm another who is very glad not to have to worry about being hip. WAAY too much effort. I'd rather use that energy to do something useful. In the third photo from the bottom, are those some of your hankie collection? It was you, was it not, who said you were going to start actually using a hankie? Whoever it was inspired me to buy some lovely old hankies at a gs and now I have one tucked in my purse and in every coat pocket. I like to be inspired to do that.

that flu bug is nasty. I love your knitting, no idea how you do the stripes though?

You're most considerate to have us. Especially when under the weather, however pleasant it may be. Dirt soup? I don't mind if I do! Is that a Pilgrim's Progress book?

You are funny about being lazy. I don't dress up anymore either, and it is a relief!! Hope you are feeling better.

Poor Pom - yes, that nasty flu bug has a very long tail this year. It's been circulating here too, even if you've had the flu jab, you're apt to get it. Get better quickly. Loving the Dino Baby! Loving that cheery stripey sweater too. Something in the mail to cheer you up! Tons of hugs. xxx

Hello my friend so sorry you are sick with a flu bug. I am so sick today. I hope I don't get worse.
I am glad I am not a hipster anymore too. :)
I love James in his dino costume.
I like the books you are reading.
I hope you feel better soon.
I love all of the bright colors.

Love all those bright colors. The sweater will be beautiful.
I need to spend some time organizing my office/craft room too. Maybe I'll tackle it this week.

Oh dear so sorry to hear about the bugs bugging you and stealing your zeal. I'm so over getting dressed up to impress. I might have to get into the mood for my son's wedding, though...
Hope you feel real good soon! I really enjoyed many of Chaim Potok's books even though some were, if I remember correctly kind of dark...

We are loving this great weather, aren't we? Little James is such a doll. It is fun having a baby in the family. I always like to see your colorful yarn. We need to plan a get togehter, soon. Have a good week.

I loved My Name is Asher Lev! I'm a big Chaim Potok fan. I read Hinds Feet when I was probably a teen? Loved it, too.
Cute little moving video of James! My grandgirls were using the word "tricky" a lot the other day. So cute when they latch onto a new word!
Take good care of yourself, Pom, and drink lots of tea and soup! Hope you're feeling better soon. (Oh, and thanks for stopping by my blog. I don't think I'm a candidate for giving out gardening advice, though! lol!!)

James is so cute. but he wants "out" of that outfit!!! ,-)

oh no, more sickness! yes, there are a lot of colds out there, this year. I don't think they are really flu, because the flu is horrrrrible. not just a real pain in the neck.

yes, I use my daughter's Instagram, to get pics. :-) I can't "grab" Instagram pics. but I take a pic, of them, on my computer screen!!!!!

you can see tiny "grid lines" in them, but I doubt too many people notice that. ,-))))

stay resting. get well. be well.

I am so excited to see your hankie collection! I took pictures of some of mine (inherited from several grandmas and aunts) a long time ago but haven't written a post about them yet.
Have you been making use of them upon the occasions of your flus? That is, if your illnesses have any URI element. I use mine, even though I am fearful that I can't get more of their quality.

Hopefully, you'll feel better soon and the sofa needed holding down anyway. James is a cutie-pie and love Hannah's book.
Dave always told me the "real work" was sitting and thinking.

Such a cute James.
I do hope that your dirt soup perks you up soon.
I adore all your wool colours. I did so love the picture of the colourful map & the wool...stunning!
Ha ha...hip may be entertaining for lunch time but otherwise i"m sure it would be WAY too exhausting to keep up day after day. So much else to be bothered about...things that matter a little more, like reading.
Are the family enjoying Hind's Feet?
Rest well & take care.
Much love GK x0x0x

Oh...so sorry you are sick. Hope you feel better very soon. What bug I had kept me on the couch for 2 WEEKS....ugh.

I have a lot of those books on my shelves. Haven't read the Hinds Feet on High Places but I believe I have it. Might search for it.

Do take care and get plenty of rest.

Sweet Baby James is really adorable! Gosh, he's growing up so fast.

I'm glad I get to wear jeans and a T-shirt and boots to my job each day.

I hope you get over the yukky bug soon. Hubs says his throat is feeling scratchy. Time for Fire Cider! ~wink~

How kind of you to water your baby weeds -- haha :) This time of year, we're happy to see anything grow. So glad you got out with your girls. That must be such a joy to have them close. I've very glad to be home, very glad not to dress up each day and go to an office or job, very glad to be stodgy ole MK too :) The sweater is WONDERFUL! You're doing great -- your knitting looks so nice and even and consistent. Can't wait to see it on you!
