Psalm 125:1
Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever.
Into the Silent Land by Martin Laird is so thought provoking. He points out that we are LIKE Mt. Zion, not like the weather around the mountain. We tend to focus on the weather and allow it to define us, don't we? I do. I realized just yesterday that the reason I have always written in a journal is because I am attempting to "de-noise" my soul.
This time period, these Lenten days, are comforting. We anticipate Easter.
"Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light." Micah 7:8

Thank you.
thanks for sharing your joys.
I love this and the quietness it brings to my soul. I also like the reason you journal, as I never thought about it but that is why I do it too. I like that you say it "to de-noise" your soul.
That is profound. I love that as well that we focus on the weather and allow it to define us.
Lovely and profound thoughts.
Karen, a lovely post and clothes. People do seem to live surrounded by noise, don't they? Yesterday, I met my nephew and his intended at a restaurant and it was OverWhelmIng! The noise, music, people talking, cutlery and glasses clinking not to mention all the bright lights. It was Dreadful and I could hardly concentrate...hated it! Next time we're going to meet in a different place, hopefully where it's not so LOUD!
I was going to say exactly what Farm Girl already said! :)
Thanks for such a peaceful and insightful post. I purchased a little Lenten devotional for my Kindle yesterday. I'll read some in that today.
Bless you and yours, dear!
You packed a lot of meaning into a few words there, Pom-Pom - lots of me to think about! Thanks for the phrase 'de-noise', which makes a lot of sense to me about taking time out to consider the mountain, not the weather around it, indeed!
This is a lovely peaceful and beautiful post!x
Today I felt complete Peace and commune with the Holy Spirit, in an unplanned visit to the little church we found on our random walk across fields - It was definitely day of un-noise for me - and youngest boy who came with me. We have been nourished spiritually today.
I think I use my journal to "de-noise" too. I just need to get all those words and monkey jibberish out of my head. I need to read that book!
