Waiting and Tiny Tea Things

The Willows are on their way home!  I bet the package will arrive this week.  I promise to take a zillion photos of the book, the passport, and the weary travelers.  Tasha Tudor loved the story, too.  She illustrated one edition and I'll get that out and show you.  We shall have a feast of The Wind in the Willows!

The first week in April is spring break.  Yay! Bill and I are going to do some good garden prep then.  I was wondering about YOUR garden.  How do you plan it?  I might have to buy some seeds very soon.  I may buy some summer bulbs.  I plan to plant cucumbers and pumpkins, herbs and sunflowers.
It's time to eat grapefruit again.  Some people actually have them in their backyards!  I have to buy them at the grocery.  Red grapefruit tastes like sunshine.

We've had two days of blue sky around here.  Betty, a nice lady who works at the grocery store, was so surprised when I told her that we hang laundry on the clothes line.  This blue sky weather and clean wind dries everything so fast!  Spring is teasing us!  Five weeks of Lent and then . . . Easter!  What a day!  In the past I've made crosses. I might make some more and I just might knit a bunny or two.  You?
Well, maybe you could dig out your dolly dishes and have a wee tea party.  Maybe I should prepare a welcome home tea party for the Willows.  They have been so many places and been treated to the very grandest tour.  They'll be quite bored with the slow pace around here after they recover.  Mags and I are thinking about the next Willows blog event.  Mr. Badger will play a part.

I have a work day at school today and I will have quite a bit of time to putz around my room, tidying and moving things for a fresh spring look.  I'll take photos when I finish.
I may have to watch a happy film while I work.  Have you watched Because of Winn Dixie lately?  It's a keeper.

Take care, you good souls.  Really taste your tea today.  Have a read.  Don't look at the clock.  Smell the earth.  Fill the feeders.  Live in the now and listen and watch for the unseen. Our moments are mysterious.
LOVE.

What a precious tea set! I'm thrilled that the Awesome Threesome are en route. Home soon! Do have a tea party for them, and we can all enjoy it via your blog. What a trek they've had! You know, they have been many places that all of us will never, ever see. Oh, how I wish I could be slipped in a mailing envelope and shipped around. I would love to see New Zealand. Blessings today, Pom!

More blue skies here today- we're off right now to climb sailing ships beneath them- there may be pictures later!! I am excited beyond words at the Homecoming! Tea aplenty and maybe a fire in the still cold evenings... I am going to bake a cake on the day!

We're having a gloomy, rainy day here, I'm afraid. Hard to believe that a month from now it will be spring. I'm ready! I do a lot of flower planting in pots while the Man does the vegetable garden in the big beds. One of these days I'm going to turn the front yard into a beautiful garden, but probably not this spring.

Enjoy your work day!

I am always so happy to read your thoughts because it makes me feel so settled and happy. I am so glad you have blue skies. We are having storms for a week and I am just thrilled. One last bit of winter is just fine.
I love your dishes. I am excited to see your Willows and how their trip went.
If you were closer I would show up with a bag of grapefruit on your doorstep.
When I was eating mine I was thinking of you. :) Yes, ours are red ones too. I know you would like them. They are mostly juice. They are like manna.
I don't know if I will have a garden this year. Just my flowerbeds. We will see.
Have a nice week and I do love the movie Because of Winn Dixie. I loved that dog. I did really enjoy the book.

Oh the little tea cups are lovely. I collected teapots and cups and have passed this on to my little one. She has those same polka dot ones… funny how little things make us happy!

tiny polka dot cups and saucers make me smile. they are so very cute.

hhmmm . . . Easter . . . makes me think of chick's hatching and lamb's hopping about . . . days noticeably lengthening bringing us all more and more "into the light".

"our moments are mysterious."
they are and i am learning to take it slower and notice each mysterious one more and more as i get older.

i think you've been a good influence on me Pom Pom.

Oh Miss Pom Pom, you had me from Tasha Tudor ! She is my idol. What an amazing woman and what a beautiful, humble life she led ! I have been wanting to blog about her for some time to introduce her spirit to others who may not know how amazing she was.
I read about her over 20 years ago in Victoria magazine and even managed to find a vintage childrens book that she had illustrated. Oh I could waffle on about her for hours !
I am actually thinking of my Winter garden. Our Summer isn't done yet, March can still be hot over here. I love planting pansies in Winter, they are my Winter favorites. Have fun planning your garden xoxo

You all are the sweetest friends. I love the things you say. I'm happy that other women feel drawn to tea sets and knitted bunnies and other such small delights.
I moved furniture around at school and it turned out to be a great messy time-consuming endeavor and now I am sore. However, I am excited to walk into my classroom this morning and see what I think of my new arrangement. I hope the kids like it. I took the gnomes to school and placed them on the top of a bookcase. I am sure the kids will have questions about this.

Oh, Beatrix Potter knew what she was doing when she drew that little blue coat for Peter Rabbit and when she painted Mrs. Tiggy Winkle's striped skirt and apron, didn't she? LOVE.

Time for breakfast and a shower. Yesterday morning I put a blue (gray brightening!) rinse on my hair in the shower and a friend at school noticed I had a very purple streak in my hair. I guess I forgot to really rinse it out. Funny! I maybe should take a little more time in the shower. Silly Pom Pom.

YES to the grapefruit. I had some this morning peeled in a bowl with strawberry and blueberries. Oh, it was sooooo good. My mom has them growing in her backyard and they are some of the ugliest but tastiest ever! I have a friend who makes a grapefruit pie. I think I have the recipe somewhere. I need to give it a try sometime.
Are you in for some snow? I saw friend's facebook that he is leaving Denver today and the flakes were beginning to fall. It is pretty sad that I get more weather news from facebook friends than meteorologists on the news. :P

Oh, the grapefruit is delicious, Leslie. I can't imagine a grapefruit pie. I know I'd like it.
Guess what, everyone? It's snowing. Praying for snow day!

I LOVE your new... eh, header? Well, what I love is the white doily and all the polkadot-red-high-heel-clad-bare-feet in the blue air all around. Much love to you from Norway!!

When it happens...welcome home to the world travelers...how fun! I've given up drinking coffee in the mornings, fora while anyway, and am drinking tea. It's more soothing to my stomach and that's a good thing.

Ahh.. I miss you. Even though I've been blogging a bit more regularly, I've not been doing much visiting. Yes, spring is in the air. I can smell it, feel it, taste it, sense it right here at your sweet blogspot. I'm sure the Willows are dying to be back home where they belong. So put on the tea. I'm sure that will hit the spot!

Blessings, Debbie

We are really enjoying the grapefruit now too. It does taste like sunshine!

I'm looking forward to Easter too. It comes early this year. Easter reminds me of baby chicks and that I need to order mine right away.

Enjoy your spring cleaning and room organizing.

We'll all keep singing the spring song, won't we? I have candles burning and I am about to put on my robe this morning. It's COLD!
Let's think about pastel colored eggs, lambs, bunnies, and chicks!
