Good bye 2012! Do you have a 2013 calendar yet? I don't. I must hop over to Amazon to find the new Susan Branch calendar right away! Her calendars (and everything else she produces!) are perfect. Really.
The tree is back in the big raggedy box, but I kept the yards of tree bunting out and I am hanging it all around our bunting-draped abode. I use scrapbooking stacks and bias tape. EASY!
The pom poms are staying, too.
The fairies are staying in the living room, too. I have twenty four fairies and they are hanging about, promising gardens and spring time and new plans for flowers in the midst of snowy ground.
Some of my handed down doilies have surfaced. My mother-in-law and my grannies crocheted beautifully, didn't they?
2012 was The Year of the Toadstool here. While I still love and hunt for toadstools, they have had their year. I have had substantial toadstool shrinkage. I'm clumsy. I broke a big red one while vacuuming yesterday. My next post will feature my Christmas books (the light this morning isn't bright enough for a book photo shoot). I'll tell you that this year is the year of the ___________ . Stay tuned.
My sweet friend Reve gave me the most glorious basket. It's an African market basket, round and soft. I'll continue my brightly colored knitting and crocheting.
I also have plans to create Mr. Badger, so he can welcome home the Willows from their Grand Tour. They might be home within a few weeks. They are still in New Zealand with Angel Catherine. They are enjoying the sun while they can!
I received a beautiful copy of TWITW from Bill and I'll show it to you soon.
Happy New Year to you! I pray your year is full of peace. Peace is there for the having. Tuck Him into your heart and trust.
I'll be back soon! (LOVE!)

I'm so glad you're keeping your bunting, poms and fairies up :) They will help you cheer in the new year! I'm eagerly awaiting to find out your "Year of the _______." What could it be?
About that bunting -- you said it's scrapbook paper and bias tape. Do you glue the paper triangles in, or sew it? Why does the paper not crumple, and how do you keep it so stiff? From a distance at first I thought the triangles were made of stiffened fabric. That would be an idea (but lots of effort).
The basket is beautiful, the doilies are glorious! Why do we not make those anymore? Doesn't the tiny work look hard? Looking forward to another year with you, Pom!!
I have an Amy Knapp calendar - family organiser - it's huge - lots of room for everyone. I also have a dairy diary which has homely recipes and pictures. You have some very pretty things in your home - the verse over on my blog just appeared randomly when I was searching the internet for inspiration. Funny you should have seen it too at this time. Wishing you a very happy New Year 2013 - Betty x
Happy new year to you too PP! In the UK, we leave our trees up until 6th January! (way too long!) Love your new basket, and those doilies are amazing!
Hugs to you, xxx
the fairies are cute, but i LOVE the doilies!
I hung my new Susan Branch Calendar this morning. I sat and read it all day yesterday in front of the fireplace before my grands came over so Grandma could babysit while Mom and Dad went to see the Hobbit. I would say, Yes, Susan Branch's calendars are perfect. I love all of the bright colors and I can't wait to see all of your new books.
Enjoy your day, and I wish you a very Happy New Year.
I, too, have inherited many doilies from my grandmothers. I use them under lamps and on top of dressers. You should definitely keep the fairies up all year. They are happy fairies. Can't wait to hear what word you pick for 2013. And that basket is wonderful and looks so pretty with your many colors of yarn. Happy New Year!
I love the doilies - I have a few similar treasures made by women I love.
Happy New Year! Wishing you rich blessings in 2013.
Happy new year to you!!
love your fairies!
Hi MK!
The scrapbook paper is stiff and it doesn't curl. I'm not sure why. Yes, I sew the "flags" into the double fold bias tape. Easy!
I bet you could make doilies!
Thank you, Betty. I love the way certain verses appear to friends at the same time! Amazing, right?
I ordered my calendar and I'm excited for it to come. I'd like to see yours.
Happy New Year!
Hi Tina!
I like the concept of 12th night, but I don't blame you for being ready to put the tree away. Thank you for liking my new basket and my doilies.

Hi Frances! Interesting (frugal living and big dreams)!
I hope you had a lovely holiday break! I am looking forward to talking to you soon! So are the readers! Yay!
Blessings on your New Year! I am also calendarless. But I'll probably pick up a freebie somewhere. A Susan Branch calendar would be beautiful! Have fun shopping for one! :)
Happy New Year!! I hope 2013 is filled with many blessings for you. I took down all of our Christmas decorations yesterday, and they were put away this morning. I always find it sad to see them go because they are put up for such a short time. But I guess that makes them so special when they come out again in December. I love your fairies! We have all of our new calendars up on the walls. I love new calendars too! :) Enjoy the rest of your week.
Oh Miss Pom Pom I certainly hope that your year is full of fun and happiness. Your rosy nature always greets me with a smile. Your home is equally as warm and inviting xo
I just ordered a new 2013 calendar from Amazon -- a bird calendar called Perfect Timing by Lang. Bright, cheery bird paintings. I've only got one wreath left hanging and all the rest back in their Xmas boxes. I like the fresh, clean feeling of a new year. I'm thinking about hanging some paper snowflakes or icicles in the kitchen window.
God bless you in 2013!
~Jody
Hi Lisa! Blessings on YOUR New Year! I hope you have a break before you have to go back to school!
Hi Susan B!

Hi Melanie! I'm glad you pop by and see me here! You're so cheery, too! I'm glad you're my friend!
Hi Jody! Yay for BIRDS and a bird calendar! Brilliant!
I like the clean January feeling, too. I hope the new babe is thriving!
