Mouse House

Do you think there might be a mouse house somewhere in YOUR house? I find the idea of tidy little mouse houses VERY pleasurable. Have you ever read the Brambly Hedge books by Jill Barklem? The houses are wonderful and the mice are precise housekeepers. When I was meant to be reading The Adventures of Ulysses and planning my Hero's Journey unit, so that I can skip off to Australia all prepared, I was instead cruising Google for mouse houses. Of course, I want to share my findings with you.

Have fun tending your mouse house today. I'm going to put the flannel sheets back on Mama and Papa Mouse's bed because I was so cold last night. We woke up to rain and this week is the state testing at school. I have to be an active proctor so I can't read or busy myself on the computer. Sigh. If this week were a color it would be steel gray. I'm going to try to give it a few purple, pink, and yellow splashes. We'll see. Meanwhile, it's time for a bit of toast and cheese. (BIG HUG and HUGE smile!)

Hello Dear Pom Pom! I love your mouse houses! Wouldn't the silhouette one be fun to have?! I'm sure many people would look twice when they saw it :o).

I hope your week isn't as gray as it seems right now. Despite days of sunshine and temperatures above freezing, I dare not remove our flannel sheets until mid May.

A BIG hug for a great week!

Blessings!

What a great idea, my cat has a toy mouse. Maybe we could make him a little house. I love little things like this.

Oh yes, we love "Brambly Hedge"! Don't you want to live in a cosy little tree house just like the mousy family? I do ;-).
Thank you so much for sharing your finds with us!
Blessings & angels to you during this week of cruel & unusual testing (blech!)

These houses are adorable. My favorite kind of mouse house is the one of MY own making! :) We recently had two little mousies living with us...coming in out of the cold, I suppose. I like the felt kind of mouse best of all!

How adorable. And such timing. My daughter just mentioned she was going to get the Brambley Hedge books to read to her kids. I'll look forward to reading them to the grandkids as well when I next visit. :) And I'll have to show them these cute pictures. Have a blessed week. :)

I LOVED the first one. I'm buying it right away and putting it on a wall in my kitchen or laundry room. Cute, cute, cute!

What a fantastic, wonderful post!!! Fabulous!

I am a great fan of Brambley Hedge and just love stuff in miniature.

The Maileg mouse house, the second one from the bottom, we sell LOADS of those at Christmas time, but I haven't seen the rest and am enchanted.

Can I ask where you found that last one? It is just lovely...

Love Charlotte
