I haven't walked by the Little Library in a while because I've been trying to walk further. I do love to check to see if anyone has taken the books I put on the shelves and many have been borrowed! I'm glad!
Today two grands are coming for a few days. They are teenagers now so it looks quite different than it used to. We'll do some painting and we MIGHT make beeswax candles or soap because I have all that stuff. We'll see. They'll be on their own in the evenings because Granny goes to bed at 8pm. 😂
I am going to plant four pumpkin patches because I LOVED being a pumpkin farmer last year. Maybe the kids can help me plant. We are still keeping flowers under control so I haven't been to the outdoor flower store yet. When I was teaching school I didn't really plant until the peonies had bloomed. That will be early June.
We have another granddaughter getting married so we have a wedding in June.
Trying to find a dress I like was time consuming, but I found a pink cotton frock that I love. It's probably not formal enough, but I think it's okay that Granny doesn't wear sparkles.
I've been reading the book of Acts, all about the early Church. I'm going slow and learning a lot.
My book group is reading King Lear this month. Like Christie (daughter in law) said, "It's a tragedy so everyone dies." Hmmmm. Not my favorite but next month we'll read Gaskell's Ruth and that'll be nice.
What approach will you take to summer (or winter if you are down under)? Will you eat different foods? Go to bed later? Do a bit of weeding? Ride your bike (I need some air in my bike tires)?
Thank you for stopping in to say hello!

What a fun post! Have fun this week with Grandma camp. I am sure they will enjoy everything, how nice having so many pumpkin beds.
It's always a joy to see you've posted anbd shared what's happening in your world. Another grand getting married. That's exciting. Finding a dress for the occasion is almost always difficult. I hope you post a pic of yourself in your pink frock.>💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
I yearn for the crafty pre-teen years, though I still have one grandson of craft making age but he's a Lego freak and I can't quite understand the instruction booklets fast enough! Another granddaughter getting married?? Which one?Our Little Library only seems to stock crime fiction so it doesn't encourage me to go often. I do go to my 'big' library though.I'm an early must-read too!x
When you go to bed I'm getting ready to have my ice cream! :)
I find it hard to find a dress I like. Either too old looking or too young!!
I like sitting on the porch in the summer reading or knitting. Can't do that in the winter. :). Other than that I don't do much different.
Hi Karen! Great to see a new post from you, I love to read about your days. I'd love to be there with you making soap and candles! Spring here has been glorious and I have been outdoors a lot; gardening and reading. I bought a step counter to try to encourage daily personal bests and it is working. I have started to go to bed early and feel all the better for it. How wonderful that your stick cross is growing!! I think I shall make a forsythia twig cross next winter and watch it flower.

*I'm an early to bed too, that should've said!!x
I love the little library! How exciting that you have a grandchild's wedding coming up! My two are adults now, L is 21 next month, but no grandbabies yet :) May has been gloriously sunny here in NW England so I've been weeding and digging in the garden and taking walks here and there. The sun definitely lifts my spirits.
It's always nice to see a post pop up from you. Teenager Grands...I haven't experienced that yet. Our oldest is 8. There is so much weeding here and it won't go away if I just close my eyes to it. :)
We go to sleep really close to 8pm around here, too. Happy May to you and Memorial Weekend!
In the summer months I do eat more salads and I so welcome the longer days.
All the best Jan
Hi, Karen! I try to tolerate the heat as long as I can in the summer, and then in mid-July, I begin "summer hibernation," a time when I escape the heat by staying inside in the AC. Ugh -- I truly loathe the heat down here.
I love that your cross sprouted leaves! How wonderful! God is all about LIFE, isn't He?
Hi Pom Pom! I have been away for a bit so catching up— saying hi!
