Hello friends! It's almost Thanksgiving Day. It's freezing outside and in the span of a few weeks, almost all of the leaves have fallen from the trees. I am very ready to decorate for Christmas but I'm holding off until after the turkey feast.
We've had so much happening with our family. We had our oldest granddaughter get married! I know! Can you believe it? She's all set to begin nursing school in January and she's happy as happy can be. We've had families of ours traveling and the theater shows have been going on for weeks. I haven't had as many outside commitments this fall but I have enjoyed a sweet book club with six wonderful friends. We meet once a month and read challenging books. I love it. I've been reading a lot of Pearl Buck's old works (so fascinating) and too many other books to mention. Have you been reading?
I might do some advent blogging come December. I like talking about and recording what God's teaching and showing me during the month of December. I may take some well thought through photos of pretty Christmas things.
I'm not going to put pictures in this post because my photos of the wedding and the shows, the kids and the trees, are not that good. Maybe I'll break out a few of my better cameras and take more time to focus on my subjects (LOL!)
I do want to tell you that I found a fantastic mattress topper that has made our bed so snug and comfy. It is from a company called Nolah. I really don't know anything about the company other than that they make VERY cushy mattress toppers.
Bill and I went to one of his yearly check ups today (the cardiologist) and he is all good and doesn't go back for a year, so that's very happy!
I had better go upstairs and put clean sheets on the bed now before I am too tired to do it.
Do you have any special plans for December?
Do you send Christmas cards? Do you shop anywhere but online? Will you bake?
Thank you for checking in and reading. Pictures of happy Christmas doings to come.
(BIG HUG!)

Hello dear Pom Pom, It's always lovely to see that you've posted. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I can hardly believe you have a granddaughter married already!!!!
Of course I bake. We all have such sweet tooths (teeth??). Bought stuff can't compare with home made. We hardly send any cards any more. Also, our mail people are on strike. Just in time for Christmas.
Lovely to read your news as usual. Much love and congratulations to your granddaughter. Glad Bill is doing well. You sound very happy and busy. I am reading and nesting and enjoying going to our hobby groups. My Christmas shopping is finished and wrapped, mostly done online at home in the warm during knitting breaks. I do send cards. I am old fashioned and still cherish "snail mail" post! I do not bake though. Much love as always to you, Karen and Happy Thanksgiving x
Many many Congratulations to the new bride and groom. I'm holding off decorating, it's far too early though some folks have already started but not me! The requested Amazon wishlists are growing almost daily so better get a move on with the ordering! Great to hear about Bill's clean bill of health! Xx
What a great post -- it sounds like many good things are coming your way (and already have!) I'd say you'll top off the year with a good report! No plans here for the holidays except to enjoy them. I do send cards and bake -- and I try to shop local as I can, though not opposed to online if that's what I need. We'll look forward to pix. And thanks for stopping by yesterday!
So nice to see a post from you.
Yes, I read a lot, always have a book going.
Yes, I bake for Christmas, and do send out Christmas cards, but not nearly as many as I used to.
We just get each other one thing so shoppings not a issue here.
So good to see a post pop up, dear lady. A grandchild married!? How lovely. We do have some events in December. Our 50th anniversary, our MGCC Christmas dinner, 2 birthdays, Christmas. Not sure how much I'll bake. Glad you found a comfy mattress topper. Blessings.
Hello PomPom! You sound busy and happy. At Christmas, we plan to go to Chattanooga to be with kids and grandkids. We are very much looking forward to it. Might take a second trip after Christmas to visit more grandkids. Right now we're in WVa at a family wedding, in the snow -- it's stunning! Really putting me in the Thanksgiving mood. We're doing our annual Thanksgiving dinner at church next week. Lots going on!
You sound busy ...
This year has flown by and I cant believe December will soon be here. I have started writing some Christmas cards and hope to get the Christmas decorations up in early December.
My good wishes.
All the best Jan
